New mom Naomi Watts (in Derek Lam) rocks a pair of Jimmy Choo’s Reba ankle boot at the BFI 51st London Film Festival premiere of Eastern Promises at the The Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square on Wednesday in London.

I think that they would look good with another outfit! The problem is, that she has on a sleeveless dress, and the boots don’t look right! If she would of had sleeeves on the dress, and it was a different pattern, they would have looked right!

uhrm… if she not a good actress . . . she almost has nothing to show for, very ordinary.
I just can’t get into that dress, and those shoes definitely don’t go with it. But I really like her as an actress!!
Separately, the boots are great — for example, they’d kill with the right pair of dark jeans. With that dress, however, the whole outfit is murder. That dress is just not for her. Definitely not for me either. What’s this, “granny glam”? Wickedly unflattering.
I wouldn’t wear that heel. They would be really cute if they were more down to earth with a solid flexy mountain shoe sole. Otherwise they’re not bad, just not for me.

Agreed — my first thought was, cool boots, but with bare legs? LOL!! Uh… NO! Ankle boots go with pants, my dear.
The shorter the hemline, the taller the boots, the shorter the boots, the longer the hemline. So with a long skirt, shorter boots that are maybe calf high can work, otherwise knee high boots with skirts to the knee, thigh high boots only with micro minis, and ankle boots only with pants.
Otherwise, it looks funny.
Same with sleeves and gloves. Long gloves to the elbows for short or cap sleeves, and only past the elbows if it’s strapless. Gloves to the wrist for long sleeves.

The Reba ankle boots from Jimmy Choo are amazing and anyone who knows even 1 thing about FallWinter ‘07 knows that ankle boots of all sorts are THE trend. If you think ankle boots are only for jeans and pants that is fine and you won’t be out of style that way. If you want to be in the current trend you will wear them with dresses and skirts above the knee.
