Agreed — my first thought was, cool boots, but with bare legs? LOL!! Uh… NO! Ankle boots go with pants, my dear.

The shorter the hemline, the taller the boots, the shorter the boots, the longer the hemline. So with a long skirt, shorter boots that are maybe calf high can work, otherwise knee high boots with skirts to the knee, thigh high boots only with micro minis, and ankle boots only with pants.
Otherwise, it looks funny.

Same with sleeves and gloves. Long gloves to the elbows for short or cap sleeves, and only past the elbows if it’s strapless. Gloves to the wrist for long sleeves.

The Reba ankle boots from Jimmy Choo are amazing and anyone who knows even 1 thing about FallWinter ‘07 knows that ankle boots of all sorts are THE trend. If you think ankle boots are only for jeans and pants that is fine and you won’t be out of style that way. If you want to be in the current trend you will wear them with dresses and skirts above the knee.

Ugly boots but expensive because of the brand name. Women see “Jimmy Choo” and shell out $$$ for ugly crap.

Pixiegal, you are so right. Sometimes, just to shake things up, designers put wacky things together to get you to notice the pieces. But that doesn’t mean in everyday life they look good.

Ankle boots ONLY with pants, there are reasons for rules like that. They look ridiculous otherwise, as Naomi is showing us. Those boots would be hot with some black skinny jeans. Here, they look foolish. Like cowboy boots and a swimsuit — another no no, but I guess nyla would wear anything if she saw someone famous doing it and thought it would make her look trendy!
