Us Weekly has chosen Suri Cruise, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ adorable little daughter, as this week’s cover girl!
The tab tackles Scientology and how it’s affected Suri’s upbringing:
– Suri was fed a mixture of barley water, milk and corn syrup, as advocated by L. Ron Hubbard, instead of formula and breast milk.
– She is too young to take classes at the Scientology Centre, but is constantly surrounded by believers, including her two nannies. “Tom doesn’t like associating with people who aren’t Scientologists,” says an insider.
– Suri is not scolded but instead explained that bad behavior (like throwing a toy) is the “wrong action.”
– TomKat are very lenient and don’t give Suri many rules. “They always want to please her,” said an insider.
The article closes with Us calling Tom and Katie “typical parents.” TYPICAL?

To #45 Marilu: You see, scientologists do not BELIEVE in God… they BELIEVE that they are GOD, so it makes sense to them that they feel the scientology “baby-mixture” is the “purest” thing to feed their babies. How an ex-Catholic as Katie once was can believe this Xenu-garbage is beyond my sense of understanding…

I really, really, really hope they did not follow the barley formula mixture and gave that baby either breastmilk or baby formula. From what a site, given on a link here by another poster, says it seems unlikely that Suri was given the Scientologist formula as she looks like an extremely healthy baby whereas babies given the formula were lethargic and malnourished, and behaved as well as looked very sickly. But then who knows. I really hope she’s getting the best of care though.
But how anyone could say that a mother’s breastmilk is not good at all for a mother’s own child is beyond me. Now THAT is kooky.

Wow… what is wrong with people? How does teaching a child that the “savior” came out of a virgin mother or that a burning bush talked in the voice of God sound any less crazy.
I’m kind of sick of the religious/belief system bullying. I’m not religious but I am very respectful of others.
Why do people have such a hard time with this? If you carry rosary beads (which, if you break it down, could look weird) or where a cross around your neck (which is the symbol of Jesus’ death, not life), how DARE you comment about barley water?

By the way, every time Suri is on camera the kid is smiling
and seems happy and well-adjusted. You can cricaticize her but no one talks about how Suri Cruise seems to handle the constant media attention and cameras better than Britney Spears.

I’m not one of them but I know enough to not use God as a weapon. You know what is stupid? How many mothers I have met who DO NOT breastfeed and then, when the kid is like 10-12 weeks old, they start putting cereal in the bottle and making the nipple hole larger. Why is that different? It’s usually barley cereal with ARTIFICIAL milk. Does Suri look malnourished? No. How about you start worrying about the abused and malnourished children in your neighborhoods that aren’t Scientologists, okay? You people are bullies.
US weekly is twisted because before they were attacking TomKat and now all tabloids are all giving them TLC.

As for just how scandalous the tome will really be – I reported two years ago that when he first started the project, St Martin’s went to great pains, VERY expensive pains, to secure unprecedented tight ass legal protection for themselves and for Morton. Needless to say – it wouldn’t be necessary unless the contents are explosive!
Wonder if the GMD is losing his ****? It’s terrible timing. Lions for Lambs opens in a month – hailed as his big comeback, some even say he’s gunning for Oscar, this will undoubtedly damage those chances especially as the reported release date falls just one week before Oscar nominations are to be announced.

Andrew Morton better have some tight security if thre is anything explosive in his new book. Andrew Morton’s lies on Cruise is old news. Same guy called by Prince William and Harry on Matt Lauer among the many making money off their dead mom Diana.
Morton is not the first to do this on Tom nor he is the last one.
That other book about the so called inside marriage of Tom and Katie didnt even sell well. Many people are fools but many are also wiser than that.

The difference is that Christianity does not preach evil. Some may do evil and claim to be doing it in the name of a religion but that would be false.
Scientology on the other hand, sanctions destroying people’s lives.

That is silly. Of course we all have to make judgements. We have to decide what is right or wrong, healthy or unhealthy in our lives. We would be foolish if we did didnt discern that what someone is doing might be detrimental.
God never said not to judge. He said judge not lest ye be judged. Which means, if you are going to judge someone, you best not be engaged in any wrong activities yourself. That would be hypocritical.
Spreading the word about a group who has damaged many people’s lives and continues to, is being responsible.
Turning a blind eye would be morally wrong.
