OlderVanessa Hudgens Dropped by Disney?
High School Musical starlet Vanessa Hudgens has not signed a $1 million contract with shoe giant Skechers, reps for both Vanessa and Skechers tell JustJared.com. Maybe next year!
And to make matters worse, OK! is exclusively reporting that Disney will not be asking Vanessa, 18, to join the feature film High School Musical 3.
At fault? The nude photo scandal.
“Disney finally decided that they don’t want her back,” says an insider. “They feel that as long as Zac Efron is in the movie, all will be fine. He’s the real star – the household name – and, most importantly, he comes without baggage.”
Who supposedly will replace Vanessa? Cheetah Girls Adrienne Baillon or DWTS‘ Sabrina Bryan (both 23).
Says OK!’s source: “The producers think that after Dancing With the Stars, Sabrina will be more famous than Vanessa.”
Two words: YEAH, RIGHT!!!!!

I am a mother of 3 daughters who adore HSM (Vanessa) being the important ingredient. #117 Dianne could not have stated things better! I’m sure the OK story is untrue and I hope the Disney execs are reading these comments. (Stay strong Vanessa)!
The worst message that Disney (or anyone else, for that matter) could send to today’s youth is that making poor decisions makes you an unacceptable person. Life is not only about the decisions we make - good or bad - it’s about the way we handle the consequences of those decisions. Both Zac and Vanessa have handled themselves extremely well in spite of the intense pressure this has caused them and I could only hope that I would be able to do as well in the same situation.
Iis disturbing to sit back and watch the world go crazy in speculation of what may or may not be happening with Zac and Vanessa. By refusing to comment about the photos (which are so over, anyway) and their relationship, they have set themselves apart from the rest and left the gossip media outlets in a frenzy - they don’t have anything real to “report”, so they make things up on an hourly basis (and never miss a beat when the things they report are proven untrue.) It is sad that this is acceptable in our world and this is a very poor set of standards that our children are being exposed to.
Just in case Disney is watching, I would not pay to see HSM3 in the theatres if V isn’t in it - I would probably allow my daughter to watch it on TV if she wanted to because I wouldn’t want to punish her for someone else’s mistake, but I would not support any outlet that discards a child for being a child.
Today’s kids need to learn that there is a huge difference between youthful indescretion and reckless behavior - and the expreme contrast is easy to see if you compare Miss Hudgens to Britny Spears and Lindsay Lohan (and I mean really compare by looking at the photos and sorting through the stories to sort fact from fiction.) So far, my 9-year old daughter has no idea that any of this is going on, but if she does find out and asks me about it, I will use this situation as a teaching tool to help her make good decisions and to help her deal with the ones that turn out to be not so good after all.
Being perfect does not make you a role model - handling your imperfections the right way does.

If this questionable info is true, I doubt they would have someone play Gabriella role since that could be confusing for a young audience. They would probably transfer her out (i.e. mom’s job)…it was reported that Disney wanted to add new characters so they could continue the franchise beyond the original cast.
I am not saying Zac or anyone else should drop out of the project. They do have their own careers to handle. However, if this is true I don’t think Disney realizes that a lot of the appeal of the movie is the relationship between Zac/Troy and Vanessa/Gabriella. Let’s not mention the bond we see with the entire cast - they are real friends.
Hopefully this will turn out to be another lie that OK! is known for cooking up. Vanessa has a lot of supporters out there…dropping her would be a real mistake.

I don’t think Disney would report this to of all magazines O.K.! They have been vert hush hush about HSM3 so far and no one has signed on officially yet.
Why would they back her up initially and then turn away from her.
She does not come with baggage, the issue is done and she handled it very professionally. I think Disney knows they will lose many fans of HSM by not having her as opposed to having her.
Also, I thought we went through this rumor before and even that Adrienne said it wasn’t true.

BTW, not doing HSM3 would not be a career killer for V. She is multi talented and will have no problem finding other roles. She already has a fan base that is in full support of her.
Let’s just wait and see what happens. Negotiations are still in progress and the script isn’t even completed. No need to sound the alarm yet. However, we fans can let Disney know how we feel.

This is horrible - I hope it’s not true! Sabrina will never be as popular as Vanessa. Although I didn’t like the fact that there are nude photos of Vanessa - I don’t think she should be dropped from HSM3. I don’t think people care about it as much now and by that time I’m sure people will have forgotten about it!

I can’t believe this…disney is making a HUGE mistake by not having Vanessa In HSM3…There is so much chemistry between zac and V…I was afraid this would happen and I hope Vanessa really learned a valuable lesson from those photos..they are basically ruinng her career…Im so mad that V is not going to be in HSM3…It won’t be the same and Im still wondering if Zac is willing to do it without her..?????
