Vanessa Hudgens Doesn’t “Dare To Love Me”
Vanessa Hudgens has not joined the cast of musical drama Dare To Love Me.
“Not true,” Vanessa’s rep tells JustJared.com.
Dare To Love Me, a film about Tango legend Carlos Gardel, is currently filming and stars Lindsay Lohan, Raoul Bova and Thomas Kretschmann. Alfonso Arau is directing the movie, which is set for a 2008 release.
Vanessa was rumored to have been part of this film as her name is incorrectly listed on the Arclight Films theater website.
Zanessa dined at Orso restaurant Thursday for Zac Efron’s 20th birthday.

Stop bashing on Lohan. I think she deserves another chance and we ought to give it to her like what most of us did for Vanessa. Like Vanessa, she is also human - she is capable of making mistakes. LL is actually a good actress and she deserves recognition.

As much as I detest Lohan, (and you seriously wouldn’t even be able to imagine, I just dislike her with the strongest passion) even I have to admit that she’s a good actress.
Sorry Hudgens fans, Vanessa may be cute and all but seeing her work in things like High School Musical and guest spots on that TV show about the 10 year olds that live in a hotel, she is a mediocre actress indefinately. She’s entertaining to the younger kids yeah, most 9-12 year olds love her but once you get older and learn what acting truly is you’ll realize how amateur she is.
It’s almost comical that some of you people would even dare to compare her acting abilities to that of Angelina Jolie’s.
When I first read this article claiming that Vanessa was going to be in that movie with Lindsay I was just like WTF!? See, Lindsay, albeit annoying and stupid, actually has acting talent in the acting field (not so much in singing). If she would just drop her retarded friends, stop being a ****, and stop smoking maybe more people would like her. The film was also really too mature for the majority of Vannessa’s fan-base to enjoy I also must add. I’d assume that everyone has noticed that Lohan’s most recent movies have all been Rated-R, well I don’t think parents would want their 9 year-olds watching an R-Rated film. Especially sincve Lindsay’s last movie had a sex scene.
I do think that people need to let that whole ordeal with the nude photos go but I also think the same would go for LIndsay. THe problem with Lohan is that she’s said that she wasa going to change about a million times before and she is just constantly going back on her word so you can’t really believe much of waht she says anymore.
#208 The thing about bringing up Vanessa’s appearances on “The Suite Life of Zac and Cory” is thatfrom I could tell she wasn’t giving anything TO DO in them. I haven’t seen every appearance but in the ones I have seen she had maybe two or three lines. From what I gathered the character is sweet but dim and tries to kiss up to Brenda Song’s character (London the Disneyfied Paris Hiltonesque rich girl). I thought she did what little she was given she well.
I have said many times that although I am a fan of the “High School Musical” francise-even though I am admittedly a bit beyond the target demographic I find its lack of cynicism and innocent exuberance refreashing-I don’t it’s a fair barotmeter of ANYBODY’s acting talent. All it acts of its naturally likable cast is that they sing and be well likable which they all do admirably. So I think Vanessa does a terrific job of playing a character that basically asks her to be… nice. Although I do think Gabriella did have a bit more shading in the second one then the first.
What I’m saying is that while I don’t think its fair at this point to compare Vanessa to Angelina Jolie (personally I don’t think she’s that great either but that’s beside the point) I also don’t think its fair to write her off as a “mediocre actress” just yet either. Why not wait and see what does with a role that really challenges her? I have a feeling she could really suprise us all. That’s why I kind of think that its too bad this “Dare to Love Me” thing turned out not to be true. I do find strange though her name was in the cast list on the official site of the company releasing the film. But she did go on an audtion this week hopefully this one will pan out, if she gets it who knows it could be the role for her that Link Lark was for Zac in “Hairspray.”
I appreaciate that you stated you’re opinion in an intelligent and civil manner, I just wish more people would do that. I agree with you that the bashing of Lindsay Lohan that went on here was unfair. She does have talent and I for one hope that she can beat the disease of addiction and get her act together and keep it together.

I agree that the Lindsay bashing was getting out of hand. In every movie I have ever seen her in, she has done a remarkable job.
And you are also right in the fact that we need to sit back and wait to see where Vanessa takes us.
As for you being slightly older than the projected demographic, I am only 2 years younger than you, so I guess that goes for me as well. LOL

Yes well I guess I was a bit harsh but I just get annyoed by the majority of Vanessa’s fans. You know the ones who’ll write off everyone else’s talent just becuase they are obsessed with her. The same ones who’ll say you’re jealous if you don’t think she’s God’s gift to mankind and whatnot. I actually had a conversation with a crazed 8 year old fan who was convinced that Vanessa was going to become more famous than Shakespeare. -_-’
I guess Disney isn’t a very good judge for someone’s acting abilities because they like for everything to be over-the-top. But I was just saying that at the moment, Lindsay shows a lot more abilities in the acting area than Vanessa does. She might surprise everyone, but I doubt she’s going to be able to jump into anything that actually will challenge her becuase all the parents would have a fit and most of her fans it seems like only enjoy that sterotypical Disney movie. Not trying to insult the ones who don’t only like those things but I’ve had a lot of experience with the fans who do.

Leila you make some good points and in some ways Vanessa is going to have an uphill climb in someways because she does have the label of being a “Disney Channel kid” and then there’s the scandal. Yeah it might have made more people know her name but I think its going to make it harder for some casting directors to take her seriously. But we will see.

wow jus gotta say that Vanessa is soooooo huge rite now! she might not be famous than Shakespeare but i can say that more people like her than Shakespeare! my baby cousin who is 3 even knows who Vanessa Hudgens is and loves her!
Nice to see all the supporters out in force! I know Vanessa is going to move onto more adult roles- HSM was great fun, like Troy says, but I do think she has a sensitivity and emotion that will translate well to the big screen. I would love her to do a “Notebook” type of drama with Zac…..something emotional….I think they’d be great!!
