Yes I completely agree that we should celebrate those educated, professional, beautiful and intelligent women but why bash Giselle (as this thread is about her) because she is a model? Are you saying that women who did not complete high school don’t deserve to be respected? I value education as much as the next person but I don’t look down upon women who are not educated. Would you prefer if she gave up on life and just said: “What’s the use, I’m a high school drop out, I should just give up already.”

As far as I know, Oprah is neither a prostitute nor a model and she makes more as a talk show host than her male counterparts. And as far as I know, J.K Rowling is neither a model nor a prostitute and she makes more money than any writer ever in the history of publishing. To each her own, okay?

The thing is, I don’t think women should be bashing other women no matter what their profession is. As long as she is not harming anyone (besides making some women feel awful about themselves), why the hatred? You speak of the “glass ceiling” and believe me, I am well aware of that. Since this is a Giselle thread I try not to get off the topic. I say to the women with so much hatred for other women, stop with the bashing already. Does celebrating a model’s success in her field translate to demeaning Ivy League educated women? To me, the answer is no.

The second richest woman in China (previously the first before a twenty-seven year old inherited her father’s real estate business) is in the recycling business and that constitutes neither a profession in modelling nor prostitution as far as I’m concerned. I will not discriminate against a woman who is unable to defend me in court nor save my life when I am dying of a fatal disease. When I say celebrate women, I will also include the woman who doesn’t have a high school diploma and is working three jobs so that her kids have shoes on their feet and won’t starve or freeze to death in the winter.

No one in my family nor extended family has less than a bachelor’s degree so I have been brought up to value the importance of a good education. However I am also aware of the millions others who are not as fortunate and perhaps did not pursue a higher education due to circumstances or the lack of ability. So does that give us the right to judge these women when they have found a means of success that is not intellectually inclined? Are you saying that a woman who does not have a college degree or is incapable of saving your life worthless? Are you saying that a woman who has a lesser IQ than average is undeserving of respect and unworthy of a generous paycheck? What are you saying exactly?

Let’s just stop bashing women in general, how about that? Regardless of their educational level, profession, or ability or lack of ability to save lives.

This is a man, right? I cannot believe she is a model except for her height. She looks like a transvestite at best. There are so many feminine gorgeous girls out there and she is the highest paid. Something is wrong. I see people on the street everyday that put him/her to shame.

All of you who don’t think she is beautiful have AWEFUL taste! Or just a warped sense of beauty. She is beautiful and lucky!
