Well I think a project like this can certainly work but it depends on what format it takes. The story was first reported a few weeks back and they are working with Doctors Without Borders. Although at the time I thought they were talking about an HBO movie.

There’s an adventure element to relief work that lends itself to a successful commercial project. Blood Diamonds was a good example. A dramatic series though would be harder. It’s as worthy a subject as they come - but I have a feeling that the topic is too heavy for most people. People will probably find it hard to watch the lives of relief workers as entertainment. On the otheer hand though, I can imagine a series about UN peacekeepers being successful. Military shows have a certain built-in fan base. And you can weave the works of MSF & other groups like that into the story line. You can call the show, The Peacekeeper.

They are teaming up for a good project to convey messages but not to earn big bucks. That’s how Brad & Ange are committed to their causes & how passionate they are.They are a couple to look up to, humanitarian & very lovely couple. Hats off to both of you.

And there are people in my own profession I admire, who have done things and made substantial change, like Bono and Angelina Jolie. They are models for how you can meaningfully devote your life to causes. It’s not just lending your face. It’s giving yourself.
