Hairspray Cast @ Hollywood Awards 2007
The Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards honored the cast of Hairspray with the “Hollywood Ensemble Acting of the Year Award” — Nikki Blonsky, Elijah Kelly, Brittany Snow, Amanda Bynes and John Travolta. (Zac Efron has his own entry from the from red carpet.)
John Travolta was honored with the “Hollywood Supporting Actor of the Year Award.” Craig Zadan and Neil Meron received the “Hollywood Producers of the Year Award.”

She may be over weight, it’s true, but she’s not unattractive. She’s beautiful. And I’ve seen her on interviews, and she carries herself well. She’s talented to boot.

@ 34: Nikki has said herself that if she sees a role she wants that calls for a skinnier girl, she’d lose the weight. However, I find it very refreshing that she’s not immediately trying to lose weight right after the movie. She’s happy with the way she is; if you watch Hairspray, you’ll realize that a person CAN actually be happy with themselves and be admired & loved by others no matter what they look like. Because ultimately what really counts is what’s on the inside, not the outside.

Well no one forces you to read the comments, and making that statement isn’t really going to make a profound difference to anyone. Haa at her losing weight, it’ll take time, she doesn’t seem to care too much about it though or how she dresses to award shows either for that matter.

I think the everyone in the Hairspray casts looks wonderful. All the awards for them are well-deserved.
Those of you who are making immature comments (i.e., Zanessa fans and the Nikki Blonsky haters) obviously DIDN’T LEARN anything about the main message of Hairspray..that’s okay to be different, not to put other people down, and being accepting of others - no matter what size, race, gender, etc.

I love Britt’s and Amanda’s dresses. I just wish Amanda would go back to her natural hair color, but she’s gorgeous either way. I just prefer her natural hair, and less root touch ups.

Thanks for the kind words about Nikki. I, too, think that she’s a sweet girl and talented actress. In fact, I think all the young actors/actresses in the Hairspray cast (Nikki, Amanda, Zac, Elijah, Brittany, and even young Taylor Parks who played Little Inez) are very talented and I wish each of them the best and much success in the future!

levi, I seriously doubt that Nikki thinks she will steal Zac away from Vanessa. You need to understand that this girl has seen Zac with Vanessa a few times and I’m sure Zac and Vanessa are not so restrained with their affection around people like Nikki or John Travolta like they are when the media is around. Considering Vanessa was staying with Zac in Australia at the Hairspray premiere I’m sure she had a clue as to where Zac’s heart lies.
BTW, so many of you seem to be only interested in posting negatibe stuff, like this one is too fat, that one’s hairpiece is a mess, and that one has no eyebrows, etc. Do those constant comments make you feel better about yourself? Yes, sometimes people look better than at other times but some of you NEVER make a comment unless it’s an insult. Do any of you even own a mirror? AND can you do what these people are doing? If so, then do it and show everyone how it should be done perfectly.

You know, it is very sad to read such rude and inflammatory comments about such talented and beautiful people. Nikki Blonsky is an incredible talent and a truly ,sweet and gorgeous young lady. She was the central character in a MAJOR motion picture and she should be praised not berated! It’s shameful that even with her talent she still has to fight the hatred this site permeates.
Personally I think Zac is now full of himself. He had to make his own grand entrance! Someone should tell him he is no John Travolta, that’s for sure. And when the dust settles and all the teen-boppers no longer are flocking to him and trashing anyone he has a friendship with him, will he actually make it in Hollywood as a true actor? I guess time will tell.

I don’t think Zac looks bored at all. He looks like he always looks when taking pictures. He’s smiling on some of the pictures and looks drugged out on others…..that’s Zac.
All you people dogging out Nikki are very sad sad people. She has more class than most of hollywood. If you ever noticed mosted of the interviews that Zac and Nikki did Zac was the one grabbing Nikki’s hand, hugging her, putting his hand on her knee. Zac and Vanessa are still together so why dog out Nikki. You people hatting need to take a closer look at yourself’s nobody is perfect and everybody has flaws who cares. Nikki is a talented actress who will have a long successful career.
Would you be picking on Amanda or Brittney if you thought THEY were trying to “steal” Zac from your precious Vanessa? Probably not, because in your juvenile eyes it’s size only that constitutes talent and beauty, not the substance of a person.
If Zanessa is so tight, then you shouldn’t be worried if Nikki or anyone else makes a play for Zac because he’ll have the strength to resist.
On the other hand, maybe he likes hanging out with grownups in an adult world as opposed to the kid-bop life of Disney and all that comes tied to it. And it is possible for men and women to be just friends…but I guess you’re all to young to realize that.

Good Morning Narf! I couldn’t agree with you more on this one. I am a die hard Zanessa fan but, I am a fan of Nikki as well. Nikki is a good role model for many girls out there beautiful and positive. I happen to be against what “some” Zanessa fans say about her that are very mean. Nikki is Zac & Vanessa friend. I just went to see Hairspray for the fifth time last weekend. All of the casts are so talented and I think Nikki has blended in the show biz world so smoothly and I can see her future there.
Never understand how some ppl hate anyone for no reason.

Frankly, just as nobody should be bashing the talented and cut Nikki, nobody should be getting PO’ed at Zanessa. They didn’t do anything either. The are just two kids who love each other. I’m sure they would be the first to be upset with the Nikki bashers.
As for Zac being too full of himself, I don’t think so. He tends to look a little distracted when he is at these events by himself. Look at the pictures of him in Madrid and Rome, etc. He looks the same as here. After a while his blue eyes show he’s tired, bored, or both. I think he is the kind of guy that can take only so much of the Hollywood life. He’s the kind that actually would preferred to be home playing some video game and hanging out with a few personal friends. That’s his personality, you shouldn’t fault him for that. He at least tries to meet his obligations and be responsible.
Nikki is beautiful but she needs to wear prettier colors appropriate for her age like dark blue, green or ruby red would be good on her. Great to see an actress who is different from the cooki cutter mold.

For those of you saying this one pisses you off or that one pisses you off, why is that exactly? Do you deal with them in everyday life? have you dealt with them enough times that they did something to you personally? Did they look directly into the camera and say/do something to single you out?

Deal with the people in your everday lives, and they will deal with the people in theirs. And if ever the two should cross, I hope for everyones sake that the encounter is as brief as possible since you don’t like them for a reason you yourselves don’t really know. Narf, I am concerned when people think there is something cool about being vulgar. They want attention I know but is that really the attention that someone wants? Apparently these kind of people have never gotten the right kind of attention in their lives.
Also, for Zac I know he has made comment about Nikki being like a sister to him. I can understand that. They are around the same age and exposed to all the newness of becoming a celebrity which I’m sure must be overwhelming. He seems fine when he is in group photos but I think he finds it uncomfortable at times when he is paired up with just Nikki—or even Janet Jackson. He has learned enough at this stage to know that those kinds of photos are what starts the gossip mill running and he doesn’t want to be part of it. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t like Nikki or isn’t impressed with Janet Jackson’s career, it’s just he isn’t comfortable with being set up for the gossip machine to make him part of their plan.
