‘Viva Laughnlin’ CANCELED!
Mon, 22 October 2007 at 3:20 pm
Hugh Jackman’s flashy new TV series, Viva Laughlin, was just canceled after just two episodes.
Last night’s second episode drew a mere 6.8 million viewers for CBS.
If The New York Times dubs your show “the worst show in history,” you’re screwed.
However, VIVA HUGH JACKMAN!

It only aired twice, on Oct. 18 and 21 and the ratings were very low. Hugh’s production company was one of the producers and he was scheduled to appear in a few episodes “whenever he had the chance.” He did appear in the pilot on Oct. 18 and was supposed to be in next week’s episode that we won’t see. But I also read somewhere that they may put the unaired episodes on a cable station or perhaps stream them.
Haven’t seen the show but how could the NYT say that…? Was the show really that bad ¬_¬…? I can bet Hugh was perfect, maybe the story didn’t work, or the rest of the cast… I’d like to see those two episodes…
Anyways, Hugh will be perfectly fine, he’s talented, adorable and gorgeous ^_^! I LOVE HIM!!! Best luck for him in his next projects!!!
I liked the show. It was unusual. It had a grown up feel to it. It was just too freakin’ intelligent for American TV.
I tried sitting through it. I did 10 minutes tops. A musical/drama set in a Vegas casino. And they pay these guys to come up with this crap.
hugh’s a huge a-list movie star, who cares about a show on cbs. lmao i didn’t even know that show existed until it got canceled.
I actually really enjoyed the show. What the eff is wrong with CBS?? This is why I won’t start watching any new shows and especially new CBS shows.
Oh it was awful - I saw the premiere here last night in Australia. Quite bad and embarrasing. Melanie Griffith was just dreadful especially…. I thought it was bad when they were singing ‘Viva Las Vegas’ and they were not even in Las Vegas…
“BTW, the real worst show in history is, was and always will be Seinfeld. What a pile of unfunny **** that was.”
Haha, hell yeah. That sucked.
Hugh Jackman is a film AND musical actor, not a TV actor. It was for the best!
Sorry to see the show cancelled, it was so much fun! Am looking forward to future Seed projects!
That´s really not fair. Over here we will probably only hava a chance to watch “Viva Laughlin” when it comes out on DVD as “Things Hugh Jackman Should Not Have Done At All”.
But nevertheless why does everybody say “…he will have a come back…”? Just because some of his works are no “hits” for the “common public”? He is not gone at all. An artist has to go through heights and lows to become a real artist. So now here are the lows and I am sure the heights to come will make him immortal in the memory of filmhistory. A star to remember, to shine brighter than the fleeting lights of TinselTown.
