61 guli - Hi Guli, I saw your post, did you see my response to you?…the wind has subsided a little bit in some areas, but at the canyons and the hills are still getting pound by the fierce wind. One of my friend, her home is across the street from the fire, many fire fighters are there trying to stop prevent the fire to cross the freeway to the other side, where there are over 300 homes and over 150 business located.

It should be very interesting having Jolie play off Malkovich. Not sure who he plays. He does creepy really well.

I just love movies about old LA and the seemingly endless corruption that went on at all levels. I’m hoping Eastwood does a good job. I like him but I’m not a fan of all his work.

I can’t see pregnant in any pics but then she didn’t really show until she was about 4 months the last time.

I’m also loving the hair style. Jennifer Connelly wore a similar look the other night and, while people were ragging on it, I think shorter hair really shows off a beautiful face and neck wonderfully. Like Halle Berry looked so much more beautiful with short hair.

Thanks TWT, I am watching the News now and they are talking about the winds, it is diminishing, which is great. I don’t even want to think about the aftermath, cause like you said it is going to be horrible. I just want the weather to change so bad, change for the good. The fightfighters are doing an amazing job, some of them came from all over to help out. They are truly heroes. I cannot imagine what your relatives are going through down there in NOLA, and the living with the fear that another Katrina can happen. The people of NOLA are always in my prayers.

There are some articles saying that any movie that is not in production by Oct 31 will not go forward as writers will not be available for any needed rewrites or script changes. That may be why Clint E is working so quickly on The Changeling, filming as quickly as possible even for him. I did not realize that writers must make script changes, thought the director, actors, or producers could also. The last strike lasted 6 months.

(To put that in perspective, the overall average is 11% on the firm’s Celebrity Influence Index.)

Others who command the U.S.’s utmost trust and attention include Angelina Jolie, George Clooney and Madonna. And while the public may know little more about them than the roles they play on screen, the 15 stars on our list have proved that, in addition to bright flashbulbs and big paychecks, fame breeds power.

“Personal charisma, good looks and poise are now prerequisites for leadership, and for who it is we’re going to admire,” says Jake Halpern, author of Fame Junkies: The Hidden Truth Behind America’s Favorite Addiction. It’s a shift he attributes to the increasing power of visual media.

People tend to subconsciously equate what’s pretty with what’s good, echoes Houran. As a result, pretty people are presumed to be good people in Western societies. George Clooney is yet another example. Just last year, the actor-turned-activist traveled with his journalist father to the Sudan’s Darfur region to document the genocide there. We never said that we were fire victims? Did I say I was one of the people that was affected by the fire? No, I didn’t. I live in San Diego where the fires are, but I am not affected by it like others do, but I have friends who are. I remember a couple of months ago. I think it was guli’s birthday. People were sending their happy birthday wishes to her. One of the trolls made the statement that it was sad that a person had to depend on strangers on the internet to wish them happy birthdays. I don’t know about anyone else, but well wishes from anyone is always welcomed. Yes most of us are strangers with only are appreciation and respect for the jolie/pitts is common. But this commonality is not just limited to the jolie/pitts. There is also an appreciation of life, for ourselver and others. That is why we can step outside of ourselves and wish others wellness, safeness, happy birthdays, and get well for childrens, and prayers when someone close dies. There are some who are close and talk or meet off blog. Put the vast majority of us are stranger who have come together because we share a common belief and respect for two people and their four children. We I ache and need prayers. Or if one of my daughters is ill and need prayers, please be advised I will call on my cyber friends her at JJ and ask for your prayers. Strangers taking the time to wish someone well is the best wish of all. Because those of us who aren’t friends off blog only have what someone tells us about themselves. And people aren’t always honest. But if they are still willing to wish you well accept it. For they could be wishing you harm. Peace :smile:

In LA they live primarily in a compound consisting of three homes in a gated community in Los Feliz (in LA)that Brad has owned for years and renovated. There is lots of room for the kids to play and no need to go out to parks (swings, swimming pool, tennis courts, etc.). There is more than one way in and out. Brad rides his bikes a lot. The kids schools are not accessible like Mad’s school was in NYC. They use different cars with dark windows that look like lots of other cars in the area. They generally do not go to areas where the paps hang out. There are ways to get in and out of places in LA without the paps able to see them. They are seldom seen when in LA. They also go to Santa Barbara to another home where they can only be seen when outside by paps in boats in the ocean. And they also have another home in Malibu where they can go. They’ll pop up now and then but mostly stay out of sight except when working in the LA area. That’s the way it is when they are in the LA area.

I don’t think Megan Fox is any where close to being as beautiful or as sexy as Angelina. I really know nothing about her so I can’t say whether she is beautiful on the inside.

I understand when some posters irritate you. Despite my attempts at zen calmness, everynow and then, a poster irritates me too.

I didn’t read cooks’ comments but , I’d give cook the benefit of the doubt if I were you. I have read his comments in the past and, seem pretty fair enough. And even if he dosn’t support Brad’s charitable efforts to rebuild NO (and there are some good arguments why NO should not be rebuilt in the face of global warmng and rising sea levels), its OK if he supports Angelina’s.

By and large though, it doesn’t usually bother me if some people say Brad and Angelina aren’t good looking/ losing it/ etc.. Their good looks wasn’t why I became a fan of theirs so its moot. It doesn’t bother me if trolls say they are stupid - I look at B&A achievements in the cinema, what they produce and it seems to me I’d like to get a piece of that stupidity myself. It doesn’t bother me if Brad and Angelina aren’t the tablies king and queen - LOL. Ask Ben Affleck. He thinks its the kiss of death. It doesn’t bother me that Angelina is called a homewrecker and Brad a cheat - because no one, not even the x and bestfriend believes he cheated. and you just can’t stop someone’s delusions.

It used to bother me when trolls say that Brad and Angelina are doing their good works only for publicity but even that doesn’t bother me very much anymore. why?? Because if you look at the Forbes poll I copied earlier, it is clear that to the general public, Angelina is well respected . And in another forbes poll which I didn’t copy over, Angelina’s endorsement of a presidential candidate would be positve for the candidate - unlike Madonna’s or Rosie’s. The general public it seems have moved on, even if it seems some people who live by the tablies haven’t.

Likeability is of course nice to have. But I would take respect over popularity anyday.

It is good to see these photos despite what is going on in California. We have brush fire and arson related fires all over Southern California. I am sure Brad and Angie’s homes are secure. But Malibu and Los Feliz are fire zones at the moment. They have another place in Santa Barbara which is not a fire zone area yet. Thanks JJ for the photos whether they are from Friday or Monday. It looks like an interesting movie. Lainey is pitching someone else for the 2008 Oscars. I don’t like it when people speculate a person’s acting ability to fail just because the movie was released early. I think the academy should judge the acting talents of the actors no matter what time of the year the movie was shown. You know what I mean!
