Leonardo DiCaprio will reteam with director Martin Scorsese for Shutter Island, according to Variety.
Drama is set in 1954, with DiCaprio in final talks to play U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels, who is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island.
Production for Shutter Island begins March 2008 in Massachusetts, Connecticut or Nova Scotia.
DiCaprio, 32, and Scorsese, 64, have worked together on three other films–Gangs of New York, The Aviator and The Departed.

No wonder, I see Man face all alone!
oh yeah….firsttttttttttttttttttttttt
If it is anything like the last three of their films, I won’t be seeing it. I don’t mean to be rude, but that’s just the way it is.
I think its awesome. Can’t wait.
I don’t see his appeal. There’s better unknown actors that can totally replace Leo. What is his appeal ya’ll?
He looked real handsome in “Gangs of New York”
I loved him in that! Grimey, Stubbled Beard, WHEWWW!
AGAIN??
Marty, Leo is not the only actor in Hollywood!
I have no idea why they collaborate on so many movies together…its not like their a genius pairing that makes great films. Certainly no Scorcesse and Deniro or Spielberg and Hanks.
Tho not as bad as Woody Allen and ScarJo.
MAYBE, IT IS THAT SCORPIO CONNECTION? WHO KNOWS!
The Departed is one of my favorite movies while GONY and The Aviator were disappointingly unwatchable. I hope this one will be great.
hhhmmm..
just like scorsese loves leo, steven S. loves lababe.
It’s good that Scorsese has finally found his new DeNiro. I would love to be stranded with Leo.
This sounds great. More Scorsese and DiCaprio for me!
Oh Shutter Island is like the best thriller book!!!
I’m all for it.The Departed was excellent and I enjoyed the aviator as well.

I agree!
Yeah!! more Leo. Not sure I am interested in this movie - sounds like it may be a bit creepy - not my cup of tea. Wonder if he would be good in an old fahsioned romantic comedy.
JARED the location of the name of the celebs is not good…they were better before!!!
Leonardo is the best actor of his generation!
I have enjoyed their previous work, so I’ll look forward to this one as well!
Thanks Jared for the news, I can’t wait to see Leo play a Marshall, that should be cool! Scorsese just likes working with the same people, I don’t blame him. Its like a giant film family, there is a comfort zone there. He just enjoys working with Leo period. I thought the Aviator was pretty well done.
That’s great. That partnership is like gold. Obviously they have the same artistic vision. Leo is sooo talented he hasn’t even begun to scratch the surface of his talent. He escaped that teen heart throb label with class. Now he’s adult actor doing the type of work he’s always dreamed of. He’s always wanted to be an actor. He’s managed to keep out of the tabs also. That’s a plus. Thank you Ken Sunshine.
Love me some Marty.
Even though I’ve always heard that his eyebrows have their own separate zip code.
I loved his animated rendering in SHARK TALE. I laughed the first time I saw his ‘fish’ self.
All that aside, he is the foundation of good, gritty, solid film directing and this is going back some thirty years.
I can’t say that for many living directors.
JoC
Good for him. Continued success.
FYI
Leonardo DiCaprio Ready To Start Building Green On Private Island
Filed under: buildings and construction — michael @ 11:28 am
After picking up a 104 acre island called Blackadore Cay off the coast of Belize a few years ago, Leonardo DiCaprio is finally ready to start doing something with it. While hopes were thin the guy would simply leave the location in a natural state, if anything was going to happen with it we’re happy the actor/environmentalist will be the guy running the show.
Apparently, DiCaprio has agreed to partner with with the owners of the Four Seasons Resorts chain to create a ‘green hotel’. Beyond an expected start date of 2008, very little additional details have been leaked. We can only assume that these hotels will have a neutral impact on the planet — sourcing energy either from the surrounding ocean, sun, wind, or other methods. We would also love to see the resort incorporate as much of its natural surroundings as possible; rather than tower above the sand and surf. No doubt, he’ll be sitting down with Francis Ford Coppola and tearing some pages out of his own successful eco-resort empire.
All we can predict is, if you’re interested in staying the night at Leo’s, start saving.
I loved Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane and Leonardo DiCaprio is one of my favorite actors so I can’t wait to see this movie. Plus directed by Scorcese. It can’t get any better.
Oh I cant wait! They make kick ass movies together
and i like leo too xD
No offense, but Leo kinda looks scary…
“I don’t see his appeal. There’s better unknown actors that can totally replace Leo. What is his appeal ya’ll?”
hmmm….. may be, you know, the fact that he is a genius?
Watching this guy do what he does on screen is amazing. Especially since I don´t like his facial features, so for the 1st 5-10 minutes of his movies I am sort of uncomfortable even looking at his face. But then he just pulls you in, whichever role he is playing and I can´t take my eyes off him for the whole movie - what he does is unbelievable, its magic. It´s very likely I could watch him play a potato sack and be mesmerised.
There is lots of talent around. Very little genius. Lay off Leo, please.
yeah! that sounds like a good film!
Leo is the best, scorsese and leo have a great patnership, i love the three films that they did, but my favorite is The Departed, leo was great!

I concur with everything you said except for the part about not liking his facial features. I think he’s incredibly handsome and I could look at that face for hours on end - his eyes are unforgettable. If ever there was a case to be made for the eyes being the windows of the soul, Leo is the one who makes it.
