Tom Cruise attends a photocall for his upcoming movie Lions For Lambs during day 6 of the 2007 Rome Film Festival on Tuesday in Rome, Italy.
The 45-year-old actor was accompanied by director Robert Redford and costars Michael Pena and Andrew Garfield.
Variety review: “Talky, back-bendingly liberal but also deeply patriotic, Lions for Lambs plays like all the serious footnotes scripter du jour Matthew Michael Carnahan left out of The Kingdom. Robert Redford’s first helming chore in seven years, and his most directly political pic yet, amounts to a giant cry of “Americans, get engaged!” wrapped in a star-heavy discourse that uses a lot of words to say nothing new. Apart from the curio value of Redford, Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise headlining the movie equivalent of an Off Broadway play, this first outing by newly resurgent UA doesn’t look likely to roar its way to significant B.O. gains.”

I don’t think he is an excellent actor. Whenever I see him in a movie I see Tom Cruise playing Tom Cruise, not becoming the character is supposedly playing.

He looks great. It seems like he’s toned it down a bit too. It’s funny how people turned on him so quickly during the whole couch jumping thing. It was silly, but really do we want to condemn a guy for getting a little goofy? He’s a powerful actor…Jerry Maguire is a favorite.
As for his beliefs, strange to some of us as they may be, we live in a country that was founded on the right to have whatever belief system you choose and to not be discriminated against. I’m sure a lot of you who dog him for his beliefs would call yourselves liberal and open minded. Hypocrites much?
Bob..why not google a little on Scientology before thinking of it as some harmless little organization….Tom is Scientology, live and breathes and eats it 24-7…why ask strangers to separate him from his religion when tom obviously cant seperate himself from it…besides the cult of Scientology counts his public appearance as part of thier public appearances..regardless of its a movie promotion ot not, they see him as the prophet and his job is to woo his fans to the cults…

Good for you for KNOWING better and being informed so as you WON’t be wooed into his cult. All I’m saying is that he has the right to believe whatever he wants without persecution. It’s up to all of us freethinking people to take his work for what it is and appreciate that without somehow being brainwashed into a cult. I can easily separate the two and can guarantee that I can like Tom Cruise without EVER becoming a Scientologist. There are a lot of religions with some out there ideas, but that doesn’t necessarily make the people evil or scary. He’s seems to be a good guy and I don’t think it’s fair to dismiss him for his religion.
I just think people need to remember that this country was founded by people fleeing from religious persecution.

He looks like Nicole Kidman in some angles. I think they have the same eyes or expression. I cannot put my finger on it but I think they look alike. Maybe the 10 years they were together made them look alike ( not initiating anything here ). Anyhow, he still looks good. Matured a little but same Tom Cruise. He’s aging gracefully.
