OlderReese & Jake’s PDA Lovefest
Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal takes their romance public–holding hands and canoodling–while sightseeing in Rome over the weekend.
The pair arrived in Rome together via private jet, checked into their hotel and then went for a romantic stroll through Rome with their 5-person security detail (two from the U.S. and three from Italy).
Reese, 31, and Jake, 26, strolled through the Piazza di Spagna, walked up the Spanish Steps and visited the church of Trinita dei Monti.
Later, the couple stopped off at the Piazza Campo de Fiori to admire the Giordano Bruno Statue and lunched together at a small local restaurant. To top off their day together, Gyllenspoon took their PDA to the hill of Monte Mario and the Zodiaco cafe.
On Saturday, Reese and Jake’s entourage expanded with a few locals and one ordained minister acting as a guide. The group dined at Bar della Pace and went sightseeing at the Museum of Rome, the Piazza Pasquino and Piazza Navona. They also took in the Church of San Luigi Dei Francesci, which houses the famous Carvaggio painting.
To finish off their day, Reese and Jake visited the Pantheon (the oldest functioning building in Rome), where they had Italy’s famous Gelato (ice cream).
On Sunday, Reese and Jake attended the premiere of Rendition together at the Rome Film Festival. The pair actually met on the set of their new movie, which recently bombed at the box office.

They agreed to keep the relationship under wraps bcz of the movie, and until her divorce was final. When you go to a film festival, there are LOTS of things going on and lots of celebrites in town. Most of the time,paparrazzis are busy at regular festival locations, especially prime hotels, with whoever is hot drawing most of the paps in like magnets. By Jake &Reese flying in on Friday on a private plane, they were able to stay under the radar and get a little bit of privacy.I think they decided to just be normal. To visit with friends, see a few sights and spend as much quality time together as they could before they had to do the official work of interviews, photocalls and the movie premiere on Sunday.They had Friday and Saturday as down time and probably decided to just go out. It worked. I also think their PR people might have even cut a deal to limit the mess. So what. They look good together. They look very comfortable and relaxed and I love that she has her hand in his pocket and his hand is …welll..up under her arm…(cough!)…I’ve never seen Reese so happy. She was all giggly on Ellen and she was blushing when Ellen mentioned Jake’s name. This is a sweet couple. I am happy for both of them. Delighted. Don’t think he’s gay. But with millions of attractive people in LA actors seem to date only 10 people they have known before. Seems if you go the way of G Clooney and date a normal person chances for it working or better. I find it funny that before the film was made both single the papers said she tried to squash rumours of her dating him and low and behold it becomes fact. It’s like the power of suggestion. This isn’t for the movie. The movie was dumped on by critics before it ever came out.There’s nothing to save. The movie is about a very unpopular subject. J&R made it very clear, and so did the director that they don’t have any scenes together. They were in Rome. They wanted to use their down time for sightseeing before work kicked in. They knew there was a risk of being seen. So they controlled it.The movie is behind them, the divorce is final. It is no big deal. As for her kids seeing these pictures, her kids know Jake very well, they’ll see Mom and Jake walking with their arms around each other or holding hands. Something I think they might have already seen in real life. BTW: Daddy isn’t exactly alone these days either.There’s nothing dirty about these pictures. They seem familiar and comfortable and affectionate in a good healthy way.

There’s just something really off about these two. Ya their body language shows they are into each other, but something about the chemistry is lacking. As much as I can’t stand Kirsten she and Jake had total chemistry and Reese and Ryan had great chemistry but Reese and Jake don’t have that chemistry between them. Both of them should have learned by now that marriages between actors don’t work out very well, with a few exceptions. Better are marriages of actors with people who have other roles in the business. i don’t mind reese, but I think hiding her romance with Jake because she wasn’t divorced yet was kinda sneaky and tasteless altogether. Specially for a Mom with 2 kids who’s father, who she’s divorcing, loves his kids, and i would guess the kids love their father. I am by no means an expert on the reasons and circumstances of Reese’s and Ryan’s marriage and divorce, but to me, classy is a person who allows some time AFTER a divorce before getting involved with someone else, not during or before. And then to come out with it seconds after the divorce is actually final… pee ewww… stinks to high heaven! This whole thing seems like a ruse on the part of Reese who wants to be with a different guy from the one she was married to but still come out smelling like a rose to the public.
