OlderRussell Crowe: I Knew Leo When He Was a Virgin
Entertainmently Weekly sat down with two of Hollywood’s greatest, American Gangstar stars Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.
Crowe, 43, spoke out on the early days of Leonardo DiCaprio, saying, “You know, I worked with Leonardo when he was 18 [on the Western The Quick and the Dead]. He was a virgin, and he would talk about that constantly. So I’m hoping we have some time so he can fill in what’s happened in between. Maybe show some photos. Because I’m sure life’s different now.”
Denzel, 52, talked about the Oscar buzz already surrounding his performance in Gangster: “What are you going to do? There’s no Oscar gym you go to to get in Oscar shape. There’s not much you can do about it. If you get invited to the show, you go. The work is done. You know what? It beats a sharp stick in the eye that people are talking about it. That’s gravy.”

Leonardo Dicaprio looks MUCH better now. I think it’s because I prefer men manlier and he looked like a boy back then.

I don’t know if Russell should have been talking about Leo’s past like that, but honestly, I love it. And I have always admired Russell Crowe because he didn’t buy into the bullshit of fame and Hollywood. Russell got beat down into his place because HE’S A MAN, BABY!!! Real men don’t take crap from nobody. But now, he’s a sweet family man. I guess we all gotta grow up sometimes.
And as a New Yorker, born and bred, I can say that I would have thrown a cell phone at one of those obnoxious little front desk twerps too if I was rich and famous. I think Russell got a bad rap on that one.
Russell Crowe is the last of the real men actors out there. And I look forward to the movie…oh and Denzel is still frickin’ HOT!!!

True comments. Russell Crowe, despite bad reputation is an excellent actor. Denzel Washington is 52 and looks the same as he did 20 years ago and that’s a major compliment!
