OlderRussell Crowe: I Knew Leo When He Was a Virgin
Entertainmently Weekly sat down with two of Hollywood’s greatest, American Gangstar stars Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.
Crowe, 43, spoke out on the early days of Leonardo DiCaprio, saying, “You know, I worked with Leonardo when he was 18 [on the Western The Quick and the Dead]. He was a virgin, and he would talk about that constantly. So I’m hoping we have some time so he can fill in what’s happened in between. Maybe show some photos. Because I’m sure life’s different now.”
Denzel, 52, talked about the Oscar buzz already surrounding his performance in Gangster: “What are you going to do? There’s no Oscar gym you go to to get in Oscar shape. There’s not much you can do about it. If you get invited to the show, you go. The work is done. You know what? It beats a sharp stick in the eye that people are talking about it. That’s gravy.”

I think Russell’s a great joker and Leo would be laughing too. Although I am surprised he was still a virgin at 17 - but in reality I think there are a lot of people who don’t lose their virginity until they hit their 20s.

No MAN throws a tantrum and assaults some hard working stiff over something as stupid as a nonworking phone. He is a big fool with a huge chip on his shoulder. Crowe has always been a prima donna that you had to handle with kid gloves. It’s too bad that his talent gets swallowed up by his ego.
And please don’t kid yourself into thinking he doesn’t love the fame and wealth of the Hollywod lifestyle. His ego loves it all. He just chooses to live it back home in Australia. Don’t you remember that over-the-top and extravagantly expensive wedding he had.
I’m sure Leo had a good laugh over the virgin chronicles. That’s just guy talk. I can’t imagine Leo would care.
I’m sure it was meant as a joke, but it’s weird and vaguely creepy to me. I guess I’m more of the if you want to talk about your sex life that’s fine, but if others do it for you that’s weird type. Other than that, the article sounds great. I love Denzel and these are two awesome actors.

Director Ridley Scott said in an interview that Russ currently is trying to shed 30 pounds he deliberately gained for a role in “Body of Lies”, the film with DiCaprio he recently finished shooting.
One thing ya gotta say about Russell–he’s not vain about his appearance, even on film.
