What Do You Want For Your Birthday?

“Welcome to your 20s, Mr. Efron.”

He slowly opened his eyes to see Vanessa coming into his bedroom with a breakfast tray in hand. Glancing over to the clock and seeing the ungodly hour of 6:30 AM, he groaned and tried to snuggle back under the covers. The jet lag was still hitting him hard as he tried to adjust back to Los Angeles time after more than 2 weeks across the Pacific.

“Uh uh, birthday boy, time to get up.” Vanessa said as she put the tray down on the nightstand and began pulling the covers off her sleepy boyfriend. But instead of getting up, Zac reached out and pulled her onto the bed, nuzzling her neck and kissing her as he rolled on top of her.

“Zac…stop…we can’t. You’re going to be late and so am I.” Vanessa half-heartedly complained even as she responded, returning his kisses with as much passion as he was giving to her.

“How’d you get here this early?”

“Dad dropped me off on his way to work. Now come on, Jim is stopping by here to drive me to the recording studio over in Westwood. You need to get your butt out of bed and into the shower. You have a 9 o’clock reading in Century City.”

“You’re no fun.” Zac grumbled as he munched on his toast and drank half of his coffee before heading toward the bathroom.

“Oh, so you don’t like breakfast in bed for your birthday, Efron?” Vanessa said in mock anger. “See if I’ll go through the trouble again next year!”

“I like breakfast in bed, but I like YOU in bed better.” Zac said mischievously before quickly closing the bathroom door to avoid the pillow that Vanessa had thrown his way.

“You want to go where for dinner?!” she asked again, not quite sure that she heard him correctly the first time.

“Orso.” Zac replied. “We had a great time there in London and their food is fantastic.”

Vanessa silently watched him for a minute before replying. “Orso? As in the paparazzi paradise?”

“Yeah, why not?” Zac replied with a certain twinkle in his eye.

“Hey, I get to choose the place and you get to pay for dinner as part of my birthday present, that’s what you said this morning.”

“I know, but are you sure? You know the feeding frenzy that’s going to happen when we show up there. Hell, there will be stories in the National Enquirer tomorrow on how we broke up after the salad course but made up just before dessert.”

Zac couldn’t help but laugh, “I’m sure. Besides, I’ve gotten us a limo so we can zip in and out real fast. It’ll be here in 45 minutes. We have reservations for 8 o’clock.”

“First Orso, now a limo?!? Okay, who are you and what have you done with the real Zachary David Alexander Efron?” Vanessa asked, only half kiddingly.

Vanessa’s plan to attack Zac as soon as they were back inside his condo was all but forgotten when she saw the way his living room had been transformed while they were at dinner. It was a recreation of the little restaurant they had been to in Hawaii the night they exchanged their commitment rings. If she thought that night was magical, then what she had just experienced was downright miraculous.

He had held her hand for the world to see the entire night! He had kissed her inside the restaurant, not caring whether or not the people around them saw! He had called her baby! And now this. What the hell was he up to?!

“What’s the matter baby?” He asked as he led her to the couch, silently bemused at the look on her face. “Don’t you remember?”

“I remember Zac. This is the restaurant on Maui where you gave me our ring.” Vanessa whispered as the first inkling of what “all this is about” began to form in her head.

“You asked me this morning what I wanted for my birthday, and I had to make sure that I had the right place to give you my answer. I want you, Vanessa Anne Hudgens. I want you for my birthday and for all the days of my life.” Zac said as he knelt beside her and pulled out the Cartier box with the diamond engagement ring inside.

people they are 20 years old only, what do you want they married?
really in the usa the mentallity is so stupid, remember: two people can stay togather with the same commitment married or not married. that´s why the usa is the country with the most couple divorce. is so sad and idiot your idea of marriage really.
and other thing I think zac is gay, but in a country like usa is so difficult say that.
