Jessica Simpson helps honors legendary country star Hank Williams Jr. at the 2007 CMT Giants Tribute event in Los Angeles on Thursday. (Jessica plans to release a country album in the near future.)
The CMT Giants franchise began last year when Reba McEntire was honored for her stellar career.
This year’s tribute featured live performances by Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Kid Rock, Gretchen Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Buddy Guy. Jimmy Kimmel and Terry Bradshaw also presented.
The CMT Giants Tribute 2007 airs on CMT on Saturday, Nov. 17 @ 9PM ET/PT.

Jessica needs to pick a career path and stick to it!! She’s failed in the pop music world, and now she’s going to try country. She’s trying to be a movie star, and has two movies coming out which we all know are going to bomb because she can’t act!!!! She’s got a shoe line, clothing line, and up next a lingerie line. What the hell??? The problem is she is not talented, just buxom and blond, and she’s spreading herself too thin. I for one am sick of seeing her; she’s basically a tabloid star who is overexposed and undertalented.
