464 I think like you said becuase they are both very clearly close to their families that has a lot to do with how well grounded and level headed they are and alsowhy Zac and Vanessa have such a strong bond and connection with each other.

Zac even said when he was recently in Aussie and asked what he was lookingforward to at xmas one of the things was spending time with his family which obvioulsy is a big thing for him.

AndI thought it was lovely that his dad went with him and that he did manage to get some time with his dad and totally agree that it’s a sure bet that they did have a father-son chat which is sometrhing that now Zac live’s on his own is something he misses I would imagine.

I did read not sure what site now so I don’t know how true it is that when the photo’s hit the net that Zac was advised not to be seen with Vanessa and basically dump her becuase being associated with Vanessa would harm his carerr, so if it is true he needs to get new people, handling someone’s job is one thing but when it come’s to his persoanl life that he should decide for himself and really talk to the people that really count his dad,mom and obvioulsy Vanessa which I’m sure he did.Like you said they have shelfish motive’s on Zac’s part to them he’s a money machine, and I do hope that Zac carries on making movies and doing what he enjoys doing without it all getting to much.

I for one am glad that if the story’s were true that Zac chose not to listhen to his people but instead listhened to his own heart and mind and no doubt got his parent’s support and advice to on the matter.

Zac is just starting his adult life so will still needs his parents support and help for many year’s yet.

And it is nice to see them holding hands in public and Zac being more friendly with the press but that does’nt always mean that he’s going to be that way and who could blame him or Vanessa for that.

I agree, rosielee. Zac and Vanessa have a way of looking at each other that just can not be acted out. It is real, and it touches everyone’s heart who watches them. The chemistry these two have is second to none. I feel they should have won best chemistry this year too. Maybe in HSM 3! :)

Here’s what I think with the picture thing: Some of the cast had just gotten done with promoting HSM2 in London. It is obvious Zac then went to Australia to start promoting Hairspray—it was just a few days apart. So, it is also obvious that Vanessa went with Zac to Australia—some reports even said they went together to have some private together time. I have done a lot of research on this and so it seems that Vanessa was with Zac and there are pictures to support this that she was with him during the premiere of the movie in Australia. THEN—and this is reported in some of the Australian press—during the red carpet hoopla these two kids got news about the picture and how it was going to be released on the net. They had to deal with this pressure even though they had to act calm and collected. A lot of the reports here in the US says Vanessa went running off to Zac when the story hit but that is so not true nor does it add up—why would she be with him in London a few days before the Australia premeire, come back to the state, and then go to Australia, wouldn’t it make more sense she just moved with Zac from London to Australia? It was confirmed by Australian press she was with him when they got the news about the picture. So, here they are trying to have some time together while Zac is working promoting his new movie and this thing hits.

I’m sure THIS is more what happened next. The cast of Hairspray deserved to get credit for their movie and not have to be overshadowed by the “scandal”. With Vanessa there it only caused the situation to be more pronounced. I’m sure Vanessa didn’t have much choice but to get out of there and come home. Now, whether the Hairspray bigwigs told her she had to go or Zac’s people it was probably for the good the promotion of Hairspray that she had to return to LA. But then again, she may not have had a choice because she may have needed to do some damage control at home—you know, talk to her parents, to her PR people, etc. I’m sure she didn’t want to leave Zac and that he didn’t want her to go in the middle of the heat but that was the only decision that they could make. So, he looked miserable. In one interview with Nikki Blonsky it said Zac and Vanessa had made a hasty retreat out the back door of the hotel so as to avoid photographers as this news had just broken—so she was with him already.

However, because she had to quickly leave for whatever reason it started the gossip mongers in those stories he had kicked her to the curb and she was hurt over his lack of support, blah, blah, blah. Now tell me, just what kind of guy would Zac have looked like if that was REALLY true? So, I don’t think Zac’s people told him he had to get rid of her and that he wouldn’t have listened to that anyway. It was just their was a big movie to think of that cost a lost of money and they couldn’t do anything to take the limelight away from it. So, he looked miserable for 10 days and what was the first thing he did when he got out of the LAX airport? He was hungry and tired but where did he go? He hightailed it to Vanessa and got her, went to McDonald’s for food, and they went back to his place. The answer should be clear as to what was going on between those two at least. But rumors continued and they wondered why they didn’t come out of hiding for a week or so? Why should they? They needed time together and I don’t think Vanessa was happy about being out and being photographed. Makes sense but nobody wants to deal in common sense.

I’m sorry for the long narrative but people don’t always keep up or follow from step one then to two, three…They read this and then that and they believe all of it even it doesn’t go together.

You know, I didn’t realize there was another Karen when I posted a couple of days ago in response to Laura’s question on how we would react if Zac and Vanessa were to break up. I haven’t posted anything until that point, and I’m sorry to have confused everyone with our names. Just call me Karen #2!

Anyhow, I’ve been reading the comments and trying to ignore the nonsense ones. I just read your post as to the timing of when Vanessa’s pictures came out and where she was at that time, which was in Australia. Your explanation makes a lot of sense.

I remember I was trying to follow everything at that time because I had come across that darn National Enquirer article claiming that these photos were going to be coming out. My initial reaction was that I could not believe anything like that, but was concerned at the same time at the possibility of it being true.

The HSM2 cast had just started their promotions in London, and it seemed no one had addressed the matter yet, so I thought the article was just garbage. Then it was mentioned that Vanessa’s camp had cancelled her appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show which was scheduled the week after their London promotions would be done. (Her Jimmy Kimmel appearance was scheduled before her Jay Leno appearance.) When she showed up at the Australian premiere of Hairspray, it explained to me why she had cancelled her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel - to go with Zac to Australia!

It’s just a bummer how things turned out because of those darn pictures. I’m sure they would have had such a blast during their time in Australia had it not been for that. At the same time, however, even with everything they’ve had to overcome because of those photos, Zac has chosen to stand by her side, and to me that is a test of their commitment, or Zac’s commitment, to one another. Believe me, I’ve been married to my husband for over 12 years now, and with the good also comes the bad. It’s how couples deal with the bad that really tests their commitment to one another, and if you can work it out during the tough times, it can only make your relationship even stronger.

Zac and Vanessa have really impressed me with how they’ve handled the last few weeks. I know that for some people, they don’t like to hear age as a factor in their relationship, but I just have to say that for a young couple such as they are, they have handled themselves quite well. It shows me how much Vanessa must really mean to Zac to want to stand by her side even through the not-so-good times. I really hope everything works out for the both of them!
