Irish stud muffin Jonathan Rhys Meyers takes the cover of Details magazine’s Holiday issue, which hits newsstands in NY/LA tomorrow, Tuesday 10/30.

On Brad Pitt: “Let’s not kid ourselves—this business is about being good-looking. Look, Brad Pitt is an incredible actor, but do you think he’d be a famous movie star if he didn’t look like that? Come on!”

On Leonardo Dicaprio: “[Leonardo DiCaprio] was successful very young, was a party boy, took two years off, and then became this major Hollywood player. Right now I can get a $5 million film green-lit, not a $100 million film.”

On being a narcissist: “Part of being a narcissist is being terribly insecure. If I wasn’t so insecure about myself, I wouldn’t work as hard as I do. I am constantly seeking approval.”

On staying out of the limelight: “You know why I stay out of the limelight? I always think there will be that time that people will find out that I’m crap at what I do. I think they will figure out I’m crap. Doesn’t everybody have that feeling?”

On what Jonathan Rhys Meyers bellows during the interview: “P***! I want p****! P****! P****!”

I haven’t really paid attention to this guy but this is one of the most honest interviews I’ve ever read. And he’s damn right about Brad Pitt. He’s a good actor and all but it’s his looks that sell magazines.

Ts……I must say I havn´t really payed much attention to this one…..but he looks damn cool on this cover.

And of course he´s right about the looking good part.

I don´t even see why that is such a big deal for some people. Actors should be good-looking.(well, of course you have some less attractive ones as well)

But they should at least be decent. Their face is their capital. They get millions for movies- so taking care of themselves isn´t too much to ask, now is it?

And come on now….how idiotic can some people be?

That you can´t even tell a straight man from a gay one?

But it does seem like looks are becoming more important nowadays than they used to be before…i guess it has partly to do with the commercialization of the industry. Which is kinda lame ’cause acting is supposed to be about human behavior and emotions, right? Then maybe the actors should look more like humans and less like barbie dolls.

But it depends on what kind of movie you’re making. But even if you’re making a realistic drama nowadays the moneymen still only want to hire people like brad pitt and halle berry and put some make-up on them and a pair of glasses to symbolize their averageness instead of actually hiring someone who is believable in the part… Which leads to severe mis-casting, which in turn leads to a bunch of generic movies that only serve to making money and not to make people think or feel anything. I mean…isn’t moviemaking about something more than just making money or just entertaining people for an hour or two?
There are so few movies being made now that I feel will last in the long run…
