‘Wanted’ Movie Stills — FIRST PICTURES

Here are the very first Wanted movie stills! Here is Empire Online’s synopsis of the movie:

“The film stars James McAvoy – officially nicest and most delightfully Scottish man in the world – as Wes, a disaffected office drone with a boss who hates him and a girlfriend who ignores him. That is until he meets the aptly named assassin Fox, played by Angelina Jolie.

Following the murder of Wes’s father, Fox recruits him to join the Fraternity, a secret society that teaches Wes to unlock powers of lightning reflexes, enormous speed and above average sexiness. But, as with any mysterious sect, the Fraternity is not all it seems.”

That’s right. You smoke ‘em, Angie!!!

Wanted opens in theaters nationnwide on March 28, 2008.

Hey,
Take it back even further during the 60s Batman TV series, when Eartha Kitt was Catwoman. Initially, it was Julie Newmar; then Eartha; then Lee Meriwether. As far as I knew, Eartha Kitt was the only Catwoman, based on the reruns they used to show in my hometown. Imagine my surprise when they cast Michelle Pfeiffer in the Batman movie.

Again, if people had objections with Angelina being cast, they shouldn’t have waited until filming was completed.

Lazy mofos!

wanted” brads x wife needs a man.to lick her azz.

Can’t wait to see this movie!!!
Thanks JJ for all these wonderful stills!

The Assassination of Jesse James on IMDb
10/10

Director Andrew Dominik has done something rather amazing. He’s made a movie about one of the most notorious outlaws in the history of America without showing hardly any of his law-breaking ways. And the fact he’s done it in a compelling, exciting way is a credit to his skill and talent. The film, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, is an atmospheric tour de force, relying heavily on both Dominik’s skill behind the camera and the work of Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck in front of it. Both parts come together beautifully to reveal the first real awards contender of the season.

In the simplest of terms, the film is the story of young Robert Ford, known to history as a coward, and his transformation from hero-worshipping gunslinger wannabe to disillusioned cynic. But that doesn’t really explain the appeal of the 160 minute film. Instead, you have to look at what’s happening just below the surface. Dominik, who wrote the screenplay from Ron Hansen’s book, delves deep into the characters and brings an almost biblical sense of destiny to them, recasting Christ as James and Judas, his betrayer, in the form of Bob Ford.

Jesse James, one of the most notorious outlaws in the history of America, from Andrew Dominik’s The Assassination of Jesse James.
When the final moment of James’ young life comes (he was only 34 when he was killed, and yet an international superstar) there is no choice for Ford. He must kill James because history demands it of him. In fact, they way the scene plays out, James himself demands it. Everything in the previous two plus hours leads directly to the moment when Ford points a new gun, given to him by James a day earlier, at an unarmed Jesse’s back. The target is presented and the shot taken. All goes according to plan and the outlaw is not only dead, but immortal; a martyr to a bygone era and patron saint to the rebel cause. At that point, I think you’d be hard pressed to think of Ford as a coward. It isn’t until later in his life, as he retreats from his own past that his bravery really comes into question.

As I said, in order for this film to succeed, it needed two things to work in harmony. The first, Dominik’s direction, comes through in a slow, methodical approach. He uses long shots in complete defiance of accepted filmmaking techniques. Here, they actually provide insight into a character instead of distance, placing the person within the confines of the nature surrounding him rather than with a 35mm frame. He uses wide landscapes to define his characters rather than the other way around.

Casey Affleck stars as the coward Robert Ford in The Assassination of Jesse James.
However, this would be close to impossible without the performances of not only Affleck and Pitt, but the amazing supporting cast as well. Affleck is rapidly proving himself to be the one with acting talent in the family. He only gets better as he matures and I don’t think it will be long before he has a statue to match his brother’s. Pitt’s performance is no surprise, but mostly because he’s not in a leading man role. As a character actor, when he’s not asked to play himself, he has serious chops which often get overlooked in favor of his pretty-boy face. Backing these two are Sam Rockwell as Charley Ford and Jeremy Renner, Garret Dillahunt and Paul Schneider as members of the James Gang. No matter which of these men are on the screen, you are riveted by the honesty in their portrayals.

Do yourself a favor and see this film. It’ll be one less on your list when the nominations are announced.

nationnwide release - good. there can be no excuses then.

I want to add that Jennifer Aniston is the homewrecker because she neglected her marriage. She schemed for movie stardom. It’s her lust that contributed to the demise of her marriage.

________________________________________________________________

Micro yes you are right she did it to herself but I’m so glad :) Brad id with Angelina I never approved his relationship with Jennifer Aniston not a good match :) But Angelina and Brad now thats a perfect match :)

#131: Let me try to see if I understand your logic (or maybe, as poster #123 and 125 put it, I might be trying to be too logical here … okay, let me be Mr. Spock for a minute) so Brad working nonstop will help him get his Oscar? Hmmm, Jennifer Hudson only had Dreamgirls to her credit, she didn’t work nonstop, and she won an Oscar. And I thought Brad just finished Burn After Reading, so right now, he isn’t working, he is spending time with the children while his baby momma is the one working. Brad won’t work until November with State of Play. I don’t get your reasoning.

think positive! @ 10/29/2007 at 6:57 pm

Thanks Jared!!

The still when she is in the car it’s so freaking HAWT!!! She looks gorgeous!!

We really have many movies to look forward next year. Can’t wait!!

Sucks for people like Famous that Angelina is the most powerful actress in HW. LOL.

And that Tom’s star has fallen.

His family is always with him on location, smart guy. How exactly is he ‘away’ from them? It’s not as if he’s in Greece for half a year and they remain in Los Angeles for the majority of that time :)

Come back and feel ‘bad’ for Angelina when he starts leaving her to tend to their children for long stretches alone. Until then, take a seat LOL

[~Famous~] @ 10/29/2007 at 6:59 pm

It sucks when you’re the most powerful actress in HW yet your movies bomb. LOL

How is that possible…. Hmmmmm

True dat. Lions for Lambs is sitting at 33% rotten. So much for Little Man Tom’s big comeback. This Movie is getting slammed. We can only hope that the ratings will improve when more reviews come in.

OMG…she looks smokin’ HOT…can’t wait to see this movie…no other actress comes close to what she does….yowzaa!!!!

Hey Piper, I remember when my dad told me about Eartha Kitt and all. Can’t remember the actually television series, tho — have seen it in rerun, tho.

As for Angie playing the role of Fox — they don’t really care they just want to b*%^h, IMO.

james owns me! *sigh*

You can hardly say that the director Timur Bekmambetov is a household name here in North America. His movies have done extremely well in Russia and I expect Wanted to be a big hit there too, but people have not warmed up to his previous movies Daywatch and Nightwatch in North America.

Yea all that crtical acclaim AJ is getting for AMH must really suck, NOT. Sometimes it is better to know that you have given your all and put out some good work. Besides, there is always “Wild Hogs” box office to praise.

Hey, Judy Judy!

How are you? I am just chilling now, blogging after a hard day’s work. Despite the irritant that these illogical, hateful naysayers cause me, I still love to blog and look at the lovely pictures of Angie and (hopefully), Brad and the kiddies.
