I love her, the Beckhams have so much money but i find them incredibly humble.. they are just nice people.
And she has a great sense of style

Jay - agree with you. She buys up all designer clothes and that is all she does. Shop, dress, pose, pout. She is awful. She alerts the paps where she will be going. Now, of course, because of what the media has been saying about the heels she wears, (do you ever see her without them) she goes on Ellen’s show and low and behold, she wears Ellen’s trainers. She is a fake and all she and her husband care about is fame and selling their name. Awful. She has no class, she just looks like she is trying too hard all the time. Always trying to upstage everyone, now, of course, because of Mel B on Dancing with the Stars, she starts this **** about hair, Ellen’s show etc. to get attention away from Mel B. Hate her cause she is so phony.

For gods sake, I never said I hated her personally or that she’s a bad person. I don’t think she’s done anything to deserve her current fame, but that’s not hate, it’s an observation. She was big with the Spice Girls, yes, but none of the other girls are even close to her level of fame so that’s not all it is.

Her clothing and perfume lines, as well as her book have all been released because she managed to make herself a cultural figure. This was well after The Spice Girls were over and the other girls were all much less famous than her despite having more sucessful solo careers. She became essentially famous for being famous. She’s not a success because of her ventures, their successful because she’s famous. And being married to David Beckham is a large part of that. Do you think she’s have what she does today if she was still Victoria Adams? It’s a whole package.

I understand that being in the Spice Girls means she’ll have some level of fame for the rest of her life. I’d understand if she was on the same level as the other Spice Girls, but somehow she’s gotten into the A-List. Right now she is so much more famous than she was back then, with not half as much reason for it.

I just think it’s sad people like Victoria Beckham are worldwide stars while amazing designers, singers and actors aren’t given 0.1% of the recognition she has, because they can’t afford to be dressed in designer clothes everyday and Ellen isn’t interested in the details of their life.

Look I’ve tried to do this without attacking anyone. Since no one else seems to have the same restraint, I’m done.

it’s so bad it turns so good reading your comments….NASTY DEBS…you also used different names to pretend to be different people in order to make people think that you are not the only one that hates her…..honey…. deal with it… people are starting to like her now. and they will get to like her more,because she is a lovely funny stylish down to earth woman who has a great sense of humour and everything else that a woman can possibly want. im not gonna try to explain why she is so famous now, because some other fans above already did and im glad there’s some VB fans who always stand by her side….

What is BBPerfume’s problem? She lives to come on Posh threads. So what how she is able to sell her merchandise? Do you think Jessica Simpson is able to sell her merchandise because she was so talented in Dukes of Hazard?

Posh is a personality, and knows it, and has fun with it, and makes money off of it, and is in on the joke, as exemplified by her appearance here and every interview she has done. Only jealous hags who are seething with rage that she is thin and rich and they aren’t and they feel they have just as much talent as she does are the only ones who don’t get it!

LOL, Victoria is with her children every single day — what makes you think she’s not? She is not away from her kids any more than any other working mom who does things outside of the home during the day. She is not club-hopping or leaving them behind while she goes out.

It is funny that people criticize her simply for being famous. Oh, and thin — not anorexic, because anyone who thinks she’s anorexic is an ignorant fool who needs to spend time around real anorexics. But when all you can hate someone for is that they are two things you are not and obviously so desperately want to be, then you are really hating on yourself.

I feel sorry for these pitiable haters. They must lead such miserable lives to come here and expend all their energy searching out Posh threads and posting over and over how much they hate themselves by saying how they hate her success.

She is very irritating to watch. She can’t sit still and keeps touching her hair, her skirt etc…extremely self conscious and not comfortable with herself.

alright a) she travels for her job and her older kids are at school so she spends a lot of time with cruz, the youngest. he went to france and germany with her. the celebs #83 mentioned barely have school aged children, and liv, gwen, and vanessa live in apartments when they are in the cities, meaning no real backyards and thus a lot of time at the park. posh and becks have a lot of backyard space and thus don’t need to be seen out and about with the kids as much — they spend time at home. fine, she’s famous for “nothing” and that’s an observation, but fact of the matter is you can’t go criticizing someone’s mothering skills without insane britney-like proof. the fact that she spends time away from them because she’s working means nothing — if that made someone a bad mother, than the majority of working mothers would be considered “bad” too. lay off.

People seem to swing to one extreme or the other–either she is the greatest or the worst. (same with David Beckham)
To me, the truth is somewhere in the middle. I DO find her funny and intersting. There is no reason to think she is a bad mother or a bad person.
On the other hand, in interviews I find her a bit self-conscious and she makes some real “clunkers”–like the over-the-top false modesty of “I didn’t think anyone in America knew who we were”. But that isn’t surprising–she isn’t a movie star or a constant figure on the talk-show curcit, so she has had less experinece dealing with live interviews and how to sound “natural”. Like every other famous person, she is likely coached by a PR handler. I find her constant touching of her hair and clothes more signs of nerves than vanity. And I can’t imagine how freaked out I would be if I were being interviewed on Ellen or any other TV show, so I’m inclined to give her a break.
Beyond that, what does she have to do to EARN her fame? She’s been with a world-famous band, written two successful books, at least TRIED to be a solo-singer (and had the good sense to give it up when it wasn’t working!), designed fashion, participated in charity, etc. At least she’s keeping busy.
Moreover, what’s wrong with her wanting to be famous? How many actors/musicians/models, etc. are in it for the deep and true love of the craft?? Most of them want to be famous and rich. Frankly, that’s the secret goal of most people, so what?
I like VB mainly becuase she is a survivor. She’s been through a lot of difficulties and set backs in her life. She is constantly put down and trashed in tabloids (which, let’s face it, must hurt a person’s feelings, even if you are used to it). Her marriage has had a few really hard times, and yet she still takes risks, makes an effort and puts herself out there. She and her husband have more dedication to their marriage than most people, not walking away when the going got tough. Like I said, there is no reason to think she is not a good mother (lots of Moms work and travel…it doesn’t make you a bad mother, especially if you have a good husband/father to be there when you are not).
To me, the most telling think about Victoria Beckham, is that people who have met her and know her are always saying how great she is. It’s only strangers (readers-and writers-of blogs and tabloids) who “can’t stand her” (the woman they’ve never met). Good for her–I think it would be much worse if the unseen public adored her but she had no friends in ‘real life’.

93/ why assume everyone who isn’t crazy about her is jealous. is it really not possible to just not think much of a person for a reason thats got nothing to do with jealousy.

it’s not hard to see - a celebrity is a product within itself. No matter how obscure or irrelevant, the ticket to fame is not talent, but the ability to sell oneself. Victoria has admitted to not being the most talented singer or actress, but she is a damn fine entertainer in all that she does. How many celebrities put has much personal input into their clothing line as she did? She’s not pretending to be a b-list actress or singer, she has chosen a field that interests her and leaves room for her other priorities, such as her children, husband, and house. The fact that you talk about her guarants her place as a celebrity.

97/ you read it as emotional, others may see it as merely making a point. the fact that anyone who states their reasoning for not liking her is bound to be attacked tends to make people defensive, which maybe doesn’t come across too well. but then neither does the anger and mockery leveled at anyone who critises her. i read debs and others comments as being more an attack on those who accept the idea of victoria beckham as someone worthy of the attention she receives, than an attack on the woman herself.

You’re missing my point apparently. You can simply say you don’t like someone without being ugly about it. The nasty comments is what makes people who do care for her come out in defense of her. They wouldn’t defend her if half the posts here weren’t personal attacks on the woman. Who is going to argue if you say you just don’t care for this person? There’s nothing to argue with a statement like that. But, if you say she’s ugly and a horrible mother and hate her and she shouldn’t be famous. Well then there’s something to argue about.
