Jennifer Garner (in Oscar de la Renta) joins director David Leveaux for the opening night after-party of Cyrano De Bergerac at NYC’s Spotlight on Thursday.
“I’m ready for a glass of wine!” she said after making her Broadway debut Thursday night.”I’m just happy that I stayed on my feet and said everything that I was suppose to say.”
Added Jen’s supportive hubby Ben Affleck: “She did fine! It was terrific, and I had a lot of fun. I’m really impressed by her courage and her talent.”
Even the New York Times can’t stop drooling over the captivating actress: “The latest in a series of boldface film and television actresses to test their stage legs (including Julia Roberts and Claire Danes), Ms. Garner seems by far the most comfortable. The action-ready, long-limbed presence that made her a natural for the spy series Alias lends a lively touch of the tomboy to Roxane. Like Cyrano, she doesn’t quite fit into the regimented world around her, and you can see why these two were meant to be together. Ms. Garner, I am pleased to report, makes Roxane a girl worth pining over.”

The New York Times “gushing???” How cool. I accidentally met Jennifer Garner in Toronto at the film festival. She was taller then I expected, wore jeans and had NO make up on. And she looked beautiful, on a sidewalk in the Yorkville district. I am glad she did well in her stage debut on Broadway. It takes a ton of courage to go out there live in person and play a role every night. And I believe Ben is very proud. I am happy for them both. His directing debut was really fine.

i saw this during previews and while im no hardcore JG fan, she was VERY IMPRESSIVE!!! im glad the times - known for killing people - was able to see the same thing i saw!

I saw the trailer for Juno too. I’m looking forward to it, especially because of Ellen Page and Michael Cera.
I’m neither a fan or hater of BenniferII or whatever the nickname, but I would recommend Ben’s flick ‘Gone, Baby, Gone’. For his first directorial effort, it was pretty good.
And again, good for her. She is clearly carving out her career without relying on her or Ben’s or their combined starpower.

Good for her. The NY Times is respected while the NY Post and Daily News are mostly known for their gossip columns. She also got an excellent review in the Washington Post.
I love her and Ben and the adorable little Violet. I am looking forward to “Gone Baby Gone” when it is released in my country in December.

Does anyone have any other good alternative options then Just Jared for celeb websites? When I go to click on the larger image, it is full of advertisements and such, and I am sick of it! I want a clear image of the image I am trying to see, even if it is Kevin Kline with a false prosthetic.
That’s a woman worth writting about! Someone with a sense of pride and self-respect… She’a an amazing actress, a great mother and a very pretty lady… I’m glad she’s getting good reviews, she deserves them…

Bad reviews, lackluster, Jennifer Garner overacts, is miscast, doesn’t seem to fit in this period piece l8th Century gab…Kevin Kline a very respected actor and great actor is not helped by the supporting cast, just because the times gave it a good review and the Washington Post does not x out the poor reviews from very respected critics…especially the critics from NY1 who specialize in critiquing all the Broadway shows!!!!!!!!New York Post and New York Daily news may not be as respected as the Times or the Post, but they have good critics and they can make or break a movie or a play!!!!!!Everyone in New York checks out the post and Daily news to see how many stars a movie gets, if a movie gets one star or a bad review it is not good news. So whoever said that the Post and Daily news don’t matter are wrooooooooooooooong!!!!!
Congrats to Jenn. She is doing something really courageous and I really admire that she is forging ahead in her career with something that is isn’t easy but streaches her as a performer. It really doesn’t matter what the critics say—they are doubly hard on TV and movie actresses anyway so the fact that she got plenty of postive reviews says a lot.
