Vanessa Hudgens Back For ‘High School Musical 3′
Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale will reprise their roles in the upcoming feature film of High School Musical 3, according to Us Weekly.
A “substantial increase” in pay will also be given to Vanessa, according to the same source.
“Vanessa is locked for the movie,” a HSM3 says. “She is very happy that the deal is done. The contract will be signed within the next week. It is almost a done deal.”
A close Ashley says of the deal: “It’s done, done, done.”

The movie, the first in the hit movie series to be a theatrical release, is set to begin shooting in January 2008.
Officially, reps would not confirm the casting news. A Disney spokesperson tells Us: “The cast is still in negotiations and we have no further comment.” Hudgens’ publicist tells Us: “There is no deal yet. They are still in negotiations.”
A source says that Hudgens’ movie (and real-life) boyfriend, Zac Efron, will also return for the sequel, though the actor’s publicist says a deal is not yet signed.
Co-stars Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman are also in final negotiations, according to their publicist.

The only reason is because of Zac, most likely vanessa cried to zac about not being paid 3+ mill like he was. They offered her 1.2 mill because of her incident. She cried Zac refused to do the movie unless they pay vanessa more, and disney knows without Zac the movie is nothing. These two are becoming money hungry snobs. 1.2 million is alot and the 2.4 million zac was offered is too. But no zac wanted more and so does vanessa. Both will be celebrity b listers by this time next year unless zac matures and starts to look an age other then 16. Vanessa should stop crying she should be grateful disney even backed her ****** ass up when she did that. They all should be grateful they would be nothing without disney. There not even famous only in the teeny bopper world. Which means nothing.

I’m not quite ready to celebrate. Can the souce be trusted? Also, Zac begins filming Seventeen in December, so there is no chance he will be finished in time for a January start date with HSM3.
I think I will hold out for a more reliable report, and one that tells us that the ink on the signatures is DRY!! Then I’ll celebrate that its a done deal!

Anthony, I think you’re being way too harsh on the money issue. If you look at the amount of money Disney has made off of these two actors, I think they’re entirely justified asking for the salaries they deserve!! I would never begrudge these two for asking for whatever they can get….you have to strike while the iron’s hot! Actors never know when their next paycheck will come, so you gotta go for it when you can. They’re young and trying to break into this profession, so give them a break…..
Also, you’re dead wrong in saying they appeal only to teeny-boppers. Hello? Most of us are much older, and just enjoy the fun they bring back to movies. I’m sick of blood, guts, guns, explosions, murder scenes, raw sex, and garbage like that. It has desensitized our society….and disgusting. I, for one, am grateful to see our young kids actually watch something clean and fun, with a message.

Being that it will be a theatrical release it can be a bit juicier and not so bubble gum. Also a movie like 17 may not take long to do, plus it’s only a tentative thing that HSM3 will start in Jan, that can totally change. I thought I read somewhere that Kenny Ortega, who is supposed to sign on as director, will be shooting Cheetah Girls 3 first, so the filming date can still change.
And I think it was Troy a while ago said they filme “Little Miss Sunshine” in a month and that movie was great!

To all you haters who think they can’t act, look at other famous actors at 18 and 19. I don’t think they were worthy of Oscar nominations either when they were young. Good acting comes from years of practice, and lots of different roles. They have a long way to go, but they certainly have the looks and the appeal, and I can only wish them the best!!

I hope that it is true and that they all come back becuase as much as I like Zac HSM has never been just about one person it has always been about a group of people from different backgrounds who joined together and I think the group of 10 Zac,Vanessa,Corbin,Ashley,Chris,Lucas,Kelsey and the other’s are what make HSM such a hit as well as they all connect really well in the movie. So lay off Vanessa, I’d love to see these people act,sing and dance in one go.

I believe they still have to film the Cheetah Girls Movie first. They have to write a script for HSM3 before they can film it so Jan 2008 is a little bit of a rush. They still have to make all the $$ they can off the marketing for HSM2 before they make HSM3. It took what about 12- 18 mos. between films. This one will go on the big screen so they may take a little longer for them to get all their ducks lined up. They may be ready to start filming Summer of 08 but I can’t see them ready before then.

So glad to hear Vanessa and Ashley are signing this week. I’m sure Vanessa is relieved to finally know what will be going on with her career these next several months. She and all of the cast of HSM 3 deserve the best. Disney can afford to pay them what they are truely worth. I have arrived. I’ve just been getting caught up with the thread over the past five mintutes I’ve been on quite a roller coaster ride emotionally speaking. 1. I was elated with the HSM news; 2)Crushed because someone cough Malia cough had to point out the source may not reliable. (just kidding Malia) 3) Devastated because neither Disney nor Vanessa’s camp would confirm it. 4) Then happy and relieved because I realized that neither side will comment until the ink on the contract is dry. To do otherwise just isn’t good business.
I also wanted to comment abit about the money. “High School Musical” is a mega-million dollar francise. It is a mega-million dollar francise because people of all ages all over the world love and connect with the cast. Giving that this will be a theatrical release it will have a higher budget. Therefore it would be foolish of Zac, Vanessa, Ashley and the rest of the cast not to ask for more money. It does not make them snobs or money ****** Anthony. It makes them smart because they are the ones who are going to be putting butts in the seats. The Mouse owes it to them. And they have every right to ask for it.

It’s nice to hear that Vanessa will still be a part of HSM. However, I do not know how i feel about it. Im not happy or unhappy. I just feel like I can’t look at her the same way anymore. I have a little sister so coming from my point of view, it is hard. After hearing about the naked pictures, I do not want my sister to look up to her as a role model. Yes i know that everyone will make mistakes. However, when you are in the spot-light, it’s not just you anymore. There are more people involved. There are a lot of things you’ll lose in life in order to gain something else. And about disney, I’m starting to feel like they care more about making money than making role models for teens and young children. Hopefully my feelings are wrong because I am a fan of Disney channel. And i guess it is hard for them to decide what to do after what happened with Vanessa. They are in a difficult spot, either way (to have her or not) will make someone unhappy.

If this is true, then I’m so happy for Vanessa. She deserves this more than anyone in my opinion. She’s come such a long way, and she’s so amazing talented. Disney was smart not to drop her for one stupid mistake she made two years ago.
As for Zac, I’m sure he plans on signing up along with Vanessa too. How bad would it look if everyone else but him agreed to do the movie?
