Katie Holmes’ NYC Marathon Victory Party
To celebrate Katie Holmes completing the NYC marathon, husband Tom Cruise took his wife to a private screening of his new film Lions for Lambs at The Museum of Modern Art in NYC on Sunday night.
Earlier in the day, Katie finished the NYC marathon with a final time of 5:29:58, coming in 34,195th place.

OK, my husband runs in triathlons and I can tell you that after most races he grabs a bagel and some juice, walks around for 15 to 20 minutes, showers, and is ready to go do something. I think I would just lie down and die, but he says that he actually has a lot of energy after a race. I see no reason why she wouldn’t be up for whatever, as long as she did not pull muscles or something. Also, the “bald” guy running with her is security, and not photoshopped. He had to register and follow all rules to enter the race, but once the paperwork was done, staying with Kate was acceptable. He was just disqualified from the final standings. This happens anytime a security risk runs the race. And Kate had no ambition to win, as with most runners. The victory is in finishing the race, your standings are less important. Most racers rank themselves according to their previous performances, not compared to others runners. Only the serious die-hard runners get wrapped up in the standings. So, regardless of your feelings towards this couple, do not try to minimize her efforts. She ran that race. Did you? And for the record, my daughters and I always wait for Daddy at checkpoints and are at the finish line for kisses and hugs and congratulations. And we stand where Tom stood, and we take pictures, and Daddy puts on a sweatshirt or something and wipes the sweat from his brow and often times does not look like he has been running for several hours. Unless you have been there, don’t pretend you know.
Good for you, Kate! They looked happy together. The child is cute and looks healthy and happy. I may not agree with their personal opinions, but those are THEIR OPINIONS and beliefs, and last time I checked they weren’t knocking on my door trying to tell me how to live, so I don’t care. Why do people have to make personal attacks on people they don’t know? Why do you all even bother reading about them if you hate them? This woman, like thousands of others, ran a long race, finished it, and was proud. Leave her alone. Why don’t you go back to watching your neighbors take out their trash or not mow their lawns? At least you know them.
I think she stopped somewhere before the finish line, she has a bit of make up on, no sweat, and wearing her rings??? When I do marathons, I wear no makeup, get all sweaty, and take my rings off because of swelling! And I also feel like collapsing at the end!! There would be no way I’d be partying that night, I’d be too tired!
Well everyone is different. After my first 1/2 marathoon my husband took me out to eat and we had a great time. The second time I felt like I needed a shower but other than that normal. I didn’t really feel tired much till a day or so later. As for the rings I wore mine and saw many othre people wear them. I am no Tom/Katie fan but I can’t believe how judgemental people are about this race.
As someone who has manned the medical tent at the finish line of a marathon for the past 5 years, I can tell you that people finish 26.2 miles in completely varying conditions. Some collapse due to dehydration and need to be carried in on a stretcher, some walk in and look as if they’ve barely broken a sweat. To look at these pictures and assume that, based on your personal experience, you can tell there is some sort of hoax or lie about whether she ran this race is effing ridiculous.
She has mentioned for years that running is the main way she keeps in shape. She seems motivated and fit and it seems completely within the realm of possibility that she ran the NYC marathon. AND that she stopped and had some makeup applied before people took pictures of her at the finish line. Hell, if I knew that I was going to be photographed and the pictures would end up all over the world, I’d probably do it to.
Not so sure about the makeup… but if I knew that I was going to be photographed (which she did, as it was ‘leaked’ that she was running, and that was the entire point) with pictures ending up all over the world, ummmmm… I think I would have worn a BRA!
Not to mention that running a marathon without one, her cha cha’s aren’t that small, who does that?!
Good on you gal, I can’t even run 2 kilometres. I am I falling in love with this couple? or what?
HER THIGHS ARE HUGGGGEEEE! IF YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES IN HER SWEATSUIT WITH HER JACKET ON. THE TOP OF HER PANTS ARE SQUISHING HER SIDES IN AND THE THIGHS ARE SQUISHED OUT FROM THE BOTTOM WAIST BAND. THOSE ARE SOME TERRIBLE SIDE THIGHS. EWWW!
i WOULD THINK SHE WOULD HAVE WORN SOMETING MORE FLATTERING TO HER BODY. THEN AGAIN SHE’S KATIE.. DUMB ASS
I love how they compliment each other…they look like a beautiful couple. Now I wonder about Tom’s and Nicole’s adopted children…no one has heard any information about them…
I hope these pics were’nt hoaxed…I was saying to my sister how boney in the chest she looks and said maybe when you’re running your chest bones poke out more…lol…anyway, she looked well rested and great that evening….being that it was a 26mile run, that wasn’t bad…I used to do walkathons for 26miles…so, running I’m sure is a little different…but, it will give one time to rest up and go on for the remaining day.
Many blessings to the happy couple and their children.

Question: When a Scientologist runs really fast, are the Thetans dragged along too, or do they get blown along behind and end up stuck to someone else in the race? I mean, if you haven’t been properly cleared first of all? And why does Tom always have a shawl for the child? Is she still throwing up the barley and syrup gloop Scientologists decree is better than breast milk?
AN AMAZING GIRL!!!!!!!!!!
Again the naysayers are wrong and its another in your face on Katie’s victory and all this blessings showered on her and the family. She’s such a humble pie too not caring for big celebrations on her accomplishments same on her Birthday when Tom always wantes to spoil her she made many poor families in East L.A. happy instead.
What’s even cooler her good works in the community and charities are low key not televised.
Hugs and kisses to Katie
and Tom.
I ran the Marathon and beat her by over an hour… Makes you think, celebrities aren’t that different than the rest of us. But Congrats to anyone who had the guts to run on Sunday… It’s miserable and grueling and the best thing in the world!
Im proud of her. Cant wait for her film to come out.
Cant help but fall in love with Katie Holmes.
SHE IS HOT and being a wife and mom did wonders to her.
I think Jared missed the boat on this one……….it wasn’t a Victory party…..here’s the real story
Sunday night, Tom Cruise rewarded high-ranking members of the Church of Scientology with tickets to a private screening of his new movie, “Lions for Lambs.”
This is the provocative anti-war movie which he executive-produced for United Artists with partner Paula Wagner.
I rather doubt that director Robert Redford, who’s also a co-star, and Cruise’s other co-star, Meryl Streep, had any idea that the screening room at the Museum of Modern Art and the cocktail party following was full of Scientologists, including the two big honchos of the New York division.
But others from the standard screening-invite list recognized strangers in their midst. As one inside observer snipped, “Who are all these people?”
While Streep and Redford’s guests included family, friends and associates, nearly all of Cruise’s retinue came from the Church.
love her and she’s such a good soul. Same with Tom.
Glad they’re destined together.
They included Rev. John Carmichael and president of the New York chapter Lori Alpers.
Other Scientologists whom Cruise invited included Jim Woodworth and Carole Hamaker, each of whom have taken extensive classes in the organization. Another couple, Marian and Cal Henry, also have dozens of classes under their belts.
Cruise’s other Scientology guests were Randy Hepner, a jet pilot, and John Danielson, partner with former Bush Department of Education Secretary Rod Paige in Chartwell Education.
In 2005, Danielson, according to published reports, tried to push Applied Scholastics, a Scientology education program, in the St. Louis public school system.
Just in case something went wrong, he also invited Scientology’s New York lawyer, Eric Lieberman.
Cruise also brought to the screening wife Katie Holmes, her parents and brother, as well his own mother and sister, cousin Amy Mapother, and hot young actor Wes Okerson, whose sole credit, according to the Internet Movie Database, is a small part in a relatively unseen film called “The Grand.”
Also invited by Cruise was Las Vegas home builder Ernie Domanico and real estate agent Bob Barnhart. Cruise could very well be buying a home in Sin City or investing in a new development.
All of the Scientologists, said keen-eyed observers at the screening, wore little gold pins in their lapels.
Considering how Cruise’s proselytizing about Scientology may have cost him ticket-holders during the promotion for his last movie, “Mission: Impossible 3,” it’s certainly curious that he risked having so many of his church pals in attendance — especially with United Artists’ financial investors from Merrill Lynch and other banks also there.
Even though Cruise has a financial stake in “Lions,” he didn’t stick around to discuss its merits.
After the movie was over, Cruise and company took off, leaving movie legends Streep and Redford, as well as MGM /UA bigwigs Harry Sloan and Rick Sands, to handle the after-party upstairs in the museum.
Other guests were glum they didn’t get to see Cruise and Holmes up close and personal.
But as one insider put it, Holmes, who’d just finished the New York marathon, seemed “robotic.” Maybe she was just tired!
It was a much different scene than Saturday night’s buoyant “Lions for Lambs” screening hosted by chef Andrew Borrok. That list included Fran Drescher, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Rocco DiSpirito and fashion designer John Varvatos, all of whom congratulated Borrok on his recent celebration from Tiffany and Co. for being one of their best customers!
whew Im inspired but also tired reading the day katie went through. Kudos to her.
On top of that she makes everything so easy and looking beautiful and graceful through it all.
#86…she gave a tree away…to ONE family on the day you’re talking about, and guess what…..they had photographers there to make sure the world knew about it.
And since you seem to be in the know about ALL her on-the-down-low charitable work can you please share with us here what they all are??? Because I’d realy like to know, since she actually is not involved in ANY charities
#95….so you mean that recruiting poor people to give aal of their money to tommy’s cult is NOT charity work?
hehe
Katie looks stunningly gorgeous. I cant wait to see all this tonight on television.
My thanks to JJ ofcourse.
