OlderAngelina Jolie Pimps ‘A Mighty Heart’ DVD Release
Angelina Jolie attends a Q&A session moderator by film critic Peter Hammond following a screening of the critically-acclaimed A Mighty Heart to celebrate the film’s DVD release at the Paramount Studio Lot on Sunday in Hollywood, Calif.
Earlier this weekend Angelina attended a press conference in Los Angeles to answer questions about her upcoming animated feature Beowulf and was asked about seeing herself in a simulated nude scene.
“I got a little shy,” she said. “I was really surprised that I felt that exposed. There are certain moments where I felt actually shy – and called home, just to explain that the fun movie that I had done that was digital animation was, in fact, a little different than [what] we expected. I didn’t expect ourselves to come out as much. I didn’t expect it to feel as real, and so because of especially the type of character I play, it was kind of funny at first.”
The Robert Zemeckis‘ (Forrest Gump, Polar Express) film will be released simultaneously in IMAX 3D and regular theaters on Nov. 16. Beowulf also stars Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, Robin Wright Penn, Crispin Glover and John Malkovich.
Angie and Anthony Hopkins are also expected to make an appearance on Good Morning America today (Monday).

She may be no stranger to taking risks, but Angelina Jolie’s latest accomplishment is making her blush.
“I got a little shy,” Jolie said Saturday, on the topic of seeing herself in a simulated n u d e scene for her new computer-animated movie Beowulf.
“I was really surprised that I felt that exposed,” Jolie, 32, said at a press conference for the film in Los Angeles.
“There are certain moments where I felt actually shy – and called home, just to explain that the fun movie that I had done that was digital animation was, in fact, a little different than [what] we expected,” she says.
Jolie – who in her role as a temptress killer lizard is painted gold but animated without clothes – explains, “I didn’t expect ourselves to come out as much. I didn’t expect it to feel as real, and so because of especially the type of character I play, it was kind of funny at first.”
Asked which body part she likes the most, Jolie answered with a laugh, “I love my tail.”
Worked While Pregnant
The PG-13-rated Beowulf, based on the Old English epic poem, opens Nov. 16 and also stars Anthony Hopkins and John Malkovich. Directed by Robert Zemeckis (Who Killed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump and The Polar Express), it is actually Jolie’s third animated film, after Shark Tale and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
Jolie said she completed her two-and-a-half days on Beowulf while carrying daughter Shiloh, now 1.
“I was three months pregnant,” Jolie said. “You wouldn’t know. We did the mapping of my body before. It was a pleasure.”
As for balancing her movie career and family, Jolie said, “You just try to balance, and try not to work too much, and take turns [with your partner when it comes to] working.”

I have been an Angie fan for years.
I know I will get bashed for this but someone has to say it, one, she needs to get some sleep, she looks very tired with those eye bugs under her eyes getting bigger every day. Gosh why cant she get some help from the nannies, I understand her need to be a hands on mum and everything but, she needs to let the nannies help otherwise she will breakdown under the pressure.
Secondly she needs to start eating. I have followed her over the years and it has been almost a year since her mum died. That excuse nolonger holds water. She needs to eat and take it slow. She looks plain bad with her her weight dissappearing at an alarming rate. Those children need her, they need her healthy and alive. Whatever she is doing or not doing that is making her loose weight she needs to stop it already.

I saw it, two A-listers on GMA. So enjoyable!
It was great. They both looked good. Angie looked very at ease and was luminous. Both Sir Anthony Hopkins and Angelina have so much respect for each other. They came across as such humnble and kind people. I can tell they were both listening intently at each others replies. Angie said she didn’t think about being sexy in her jumpsuit. It was funny too when the interviewer hinted about adding on another setting at the table for the newly found ‘cousins’ joining them for thanksgiing.
Angie mentioned celebrating Moon festival for her son. Part of that is eating moon cakes . Mooncakes are yummy for some. Maybe some other Asian fans can explain about the festival. I’m not good at explaining about food and customs.
That interview was too short , but a lot of fun. Loved it.

I am both an Angelina and Brad fan. In my own opinion, minus the latter months of her pregnancy and a few months after the birth, she has been maintaining an extremely lean frame over the past couple of years. I don’t agree that this is the best look for her. If you look at pics of her in 2004 and early 2005, the added weight really suited her face. Of course I’ll support her regardless of whether I agree with her current leanness. Also, as others mentioned this may just be the result of her hectic schedule, duties as a mommy and also a possible pregnancy. I wish her rest and and good health in the new year when she gets a moment to slow down.

It’s weird. They call these things junkets. It’s a word that means either “a sweet dessert”, “a party” or “a trip made for pleasure at someone else’s expense”. And the pleasure trip aspect is certainly there for the journalists, who get flown to somewhere nice by the film company, put up in hotels, see the film and then spend a day or a few hours talking to the people who made it. When I was a journalist, getting on a junket was always considered a good thing — a small amount of work for a fair amount of pleasure and adventure.
Having done a few of them now on the other side of the press conference table I think it’s worth mentioning that they aren’t really junkets for the people organising them or for the people being interviewed. They are work.
We assembled yesterday morning early in a hotel back room. A lady did hair and make up for the cameras (which means, in my case, a bit of powder, and then her looking at my hair and asking “Is it meant to be like that?” and me saying, um, yes, sorry). Then into a back room to be led onto the stage for a press conference. Ray Winstone and Crispin Glover had just seen the film and loved it (Crispin: “And mostly I don’t like films I’m in,”), John Malkovitch, Anthony Hopkins and Angelina Jolie haven’t yet seen it. Bob Zemeckis was there but decided some years ago not to do things like interviews and junkets and press conferences (very wise, and I rather wish I could do likewise).
I like Angelina. She’s nice, very professional, and has a slightly goofy sense of humour. Last time I met her was November 2005, when she was doing the acting bit of Beowulf. Even then, it had already been reported in the papers that she had closed down production on Beowulf by walking off the set after a fight with Ray Winstone — two weeks before her first day on set. I realised that where she was concerned the press were happy to simply make up stuff that sounded credible. It didn’t need have to have any basis at all in reality.
It was obvious during the press conference that a large contingent of the press just wanted to talk to her and talk about her private life, something she declined to do and handled with grace and aplomb. Overall, the press conference went well (I think my favourite bit was the way Ray Winstone, answering questions, always refers to me and Roger Avary as “The Boys”, as if we’re a couple of writing hardcases who will come over to your house and beat you up with our typewriters.)
And then on to interviews. Round tables: a dozen journalists in each room, and Roger and I go in, talk for half an hour and are then moved to the next room, where another dozen journalists are waiting to ask the same questions, while Anthony Hopkins, always one room behind, is moved into the room we were in.
And then it was off to hotel rooms for individual interviews, and telephone interviews with journalists in Kansas and suchlike places. And then, brain dead, we were done.
The reaction to the film from the journalists and interviewers, who had seen it the previous night, seemed overwhelmingly positive, which was a relief.
It’s nice that people have started to see the film, and are now actually talking about the thing they’ve seen. (I got a bit tired of reading online “reviews” of the film, which were always mash-ups of what people thought they’d seen in the trailers with what they imagined we were doing to the story, along with complaints about visuals they hadn’t properly seen yet, which then normally concluded with the loud and proud announcement that as they knew they wouldn’t like it, they wouldn’t be seeing it, and it certainly wouldn’t be Beowulf. Several of them were written by people who should, I thought, know better. I’ve never minded getting bad reviews, but in the past they’ve always come from people who had at least read or seen the thing they were complaining about.)
Anyway, now we’ve started screening it, real reactions are coming in.

I appreciate your comments. As I stated in a subsequent post, I am only 5 feet tall. So, I am within an acceptable weight range for my height. I USED to be only 89 pounds. At that time, I received a ton of comments regarding my weight. People were right to comment because I was not healthy at that weight. As I was not healthy then, Angelina is not healthy now. She needs to gain about ten pounds. I realize she has always been thin but she has been below weight for even her own natural thinness for some time now. It may not be hurting her now but it will, in time, if she does not gain weight. Her bones, her skin, her hair, her fertility, etc…..

I think as hateful remarks go, this one is very bad. In your zeal to defend Angie why do you have to go to the other extreme
and put down PLUS SIZE women? Trolls are not the only ones who
should monitor their insults. All of us are human beings on this planet after all. Whether you’re on one side of the other on this issue I believe that all women(large and small) feel the pressure to meet everyone else’s expectations. Hollywood expects their leading ladies to maintain a certain leanness in their screen personas. But when certain stars go to extreme lengths to maintain these rigid standards they can become targets for tabloids and derided for their adherence to these impossible standards. Likewise, if you are a tad or more overweight then you cannot expect the quality of roles to come your way unless you have forged a strong persona, i.e. Queen Latifah. It is really a no-win situation, no matter how you look at it. The only thing I could ever want for any of the actresses or would-be actresses is good health, love for your body(large or small) and self-confidence irregardless of how others see you.

Many of you who crticize Angelina for whatever the reasons are jealous because Angelina seems to have everything this modern world says we should have. Fame, beauty, kind heart, family, childern, career, wealth, good looking & equally famous/supportive man who stands by her & loves her. Most of you who dislike her cannot stand the fact that Angelina’s man left the ordinary looking women, who you can identified with, for a beautiful women. You know in you heart of heart you cannot line yourself with Anelina, so you make yourself feel better by criticizing her body weight, looks, what she does or does not do.
Guess what? Angelina’s always been thin. She’s not all that much thinner than she was even 10 years ago. It’s known fact that as we age we loose that baby fat, thus making us look more pronounced in our future. I dare many of you who are in your thirties to take look your late teens and early tweenties pictures. You’ll see the difference, unless you’ve gain much weight. In that case, there lies my point.
Further, for those of you who minimalize loosing a parant, you never fully get over loosing your mun or dad. Leaning to live without them is everyday challenge, especially if you’ve enjoyed very close relationship, such as Angelina did with her mum. In this case, there lies my point.
Lastly, if you keep yourself busy with childern and work, such as Agelina does, you’ll be thin also. Isn’t this what we strive to achieve? Live full and balanced life and be healthy. This could mean some of us are little bit on the chubby side, some of us are a little bit on thin side, and some of us are on the perfect side. We are all different based on our genes. There’s no one standard. If you have no full/balanced life or perceive not to be on the perfect side by worldly standard, there in lies my point.
Ernestly, you can like/dislike a person and still enjoy/not enjoy the person’s talent. There’s no sense in bashing others to make ourselves feel good/justify. If you do that, you will always be bitter person.
Stop. Don’t say I’m Angelina’s or Brad’s fan but……. There’s no buts. Either you are or you are not. If you on the fence, then you are neither. So, bug off.

People are taking this skinny thing way out of hand. Not everyone is going to be FAT. Some people are naturally thin and with stressors can lose more and become a little thinner.
Others are FAT and which to be thin by dieting and god knows what other ways.
Angelina is naturally thin and with family, work and grieving she is allow to lose some weight. She said so her self that its been hard getting her nutrition back together. Not everyone get FAT overnight. It takes time if I am correct she probably goes to bed late and first to rise every day like all responsible mothers we are.

#309 youre so right. All the losers out there who’re so quick to jump to critice Angie dont realize that she is more of a shy person than not. But thats because they are not really listening to her when she speaks, they only pounce on her words in order to try to use it against her.
But ive noticed in many of her interviews, when discussing what went on before she did a role or even a scene, how nervous she said she was. She uses the word ‘nervous’ a lot in describing her feelings about things. Remember her interviews about deciding to do AMH/ She was so nervous she couldnt sleep the night before shooting was to begin and Brad had to be reassuring her that she would do great.
Even at the TGS premiere, which was her first after her mother’s death (if my memory serves me right), you could clearly see how nervous she was and that Brad was playing a major supportive role for her. (both physically and otherwise) She is a genuine trooper.
Like a true high-achiever, Angie is a classic “feel-the-fear-and-do-it-anyway’ kind of woman. Brad’s kind of woman. Everyman and every strong, independent woman kind of woman.
Is it any wonder that both men and women equally find her appealing?
What does she mean with we all chip in?I thought she and brad are the only grown up people in her family.something is not right with this new interview. :(

This is the first time I have heard of a press junket for a DVD.
I can’t imagine the money spent to make this movie that earned mere $4 mil at the box office.
She and Brads’ production company have to work overtime to reap any profit. I wonder how much the paid Marianne Pearl for the rights to this movie?. Did they also have to pay his parents and siblings?. I wonder if his wife and family negotiated for upfront pay or, whether they negotiated for a percentage of both box-office and DVD sales. Good luck to them.

And don’t even call me a troll. I post here too much for that nonsense. I think Angie is too skinny right now, but what I’m not doing is sitting here griping about it and passing judgment on her. She’ll put the weight back on in her own time and in her own way, so there’s really no point in bemoaning it. She’s a grown ass woman with a husband and 4 small children and a demanding job and lifestyle. You must be wearing distorted glasses or have never seen the body of runway models or any model. Angie is not too thin….Again just because you think she is too thin is based on what?..What some other mom’s doing Jenny Craig…People who complain about her weigh want her to be like they are FATTER. I’m not fat so her weight looks fine..I’ve seen plenty models and actresses and for her height and size she’s simply not too thin. She’s stunning. It bothers women who see her because her weigh implies she is able to control what she puts into her mouth..which most people can’t do…most people overeat and “skinny” people remind them how they lack the ability to control their intake of excessive eatting.
