Jessica Alba is Broadway Bound

Jessica Alba is being courted to star in a Broadway revival of David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow in the spring, according to The NY Post.

Speed-the-Plow is a satirical dissection of the American movie business and although Alba doesn’t have any stage experience whatsoever, Broadway still wants her! Sounds perfect for her since she pokes fun of Hollywood anyway…

The play was first performed by the Lincoln Center Theater at NYC’s Royale Theater in 1988, with Madonna in the cast. Yes, that Madonna. She too had no stage experience when she took the role of secretary Karen.

Again. VERY GOOD actress?? Really? I don’t disliker her, personally, but I’m also not willing to give her credit for talent she doesn’t have. She’s not the worst actress I’ve seen, but ‘very good’ is quite a stretch.

I saw Speed the Plow back in the day with Madonna, Joe Mantegna and Ron Silber
She is not a good actress.

I don’t know if Jessica would be any better. I think she’s trying to get acting props.

Oh no!!! I love that play and they always throw that role away to some dipshit and it could be such a great role. If you’ve read the play, it always gets played by a ******** queen…so there you go. That’s how she got started after all.

man did i discover how bad things actually were when i did theater production & development internships a few years ago for broadway & off-broadway. they will shamelessly cast anyone who they think can bring in a buck. mostly it’s the musicals that sell out but i can’t say i’m that shocked. trust me, the powers that be think she’s talentless, but since she’s popular they don’t care. and since she wants to be taken seriously she’ll probably take it.

I love her she’s so beautiful,fresh,funny and talented!!!I agree she’s certainly not the best actress in the world but she CAN act! watch Dark Angel she completely made the show!!!
