Madonna’s Malawai Plea

Madonna’s Malawai Plea

Madonna dines at Scott’s Restaurant in London on Wednesday with designer Stella McCartney and hubby Alasdhair Willis. She recently posted this message on the RaisingMalawai.org:

“From the moment I began my work on behalf of Malawi’s ONE MILLION orphans, people have asked, “Why did you choose Malawi?” I always answer, “I didn’t. Malawi chose me.” Malawi is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Unfortunately, it is also one of the poorest - suffering from famine, drought, extreme poverty, and deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis. All of which could be treated with proper health care and education, if it were available.

Through the Raising Malawi: Orphan Care Initiative, Michel Berg and I have committed to doing all that we can to help this small country in desperate need.

We have met with world experts in healthcare, economics, education, and international development - leaders like Dr. Jeffrey Sachs and Dr. Paul Farmer, who have given a voice to the most underprivileged sectors of society. Together we are working to raise the quality of life for a generation of orphaned and vulnerable children.

Now I’m asking you to join us.

With one of the highest HIV/AIDS rates in the world and one of the lowest rankings in the Human Poverty Index, Malawi and her children are at the heart of the humanitarian crisis in sub-Saharan Africa. The challenges facing these children are unimaginable. Everyday in Malawi hundreds of children die from preventable illness, thousands are affected by abuse and neglect, and millions face a lonely struggle for survival without parents, or adult supervision. At Raising Malawi, we believe in turning these challenges into stepping stones.

Malawi is country with incredible promise. Malawians possess resiliency and great spirit. If we give them a chance to achieve lasting sustainability through smart solutions and the proper support, we will in fact raise Malawi. No matter who you are or where you are, you can join this cause and get involved. Volunteers of all ages and from every corner of the world are needed.

Donations, no matter how large or small, can make a big difference: from buying a bed net to helping build a school or a clinic. Every little bit helps.

I urge you to please support Raising Malawi and remember: by committing a little bit of your time, talent, or treasures to these extraordinary children, you will help to save a life.”

I ranted about this sinful, hypocritical wench on another website so I won’t bore you with it. All I want to say is all these “good deeds” she is trying to push down our throats will not save her soul. The Malawi don’t give a *&$#( about her…only what money she can get for their corrupt government.

And don’t think that alot of that money is going directly to Kabbalah. Her orphanages are planning on teaching these AFRICAN children this false Jewish faith created by a 13th century heretic. The Bible warns us of false religions and false people.

Madonna is false.

Madonna is a legend, she’s the one. I consider her like the most respectable woman in the world. She’s an example for everyone.

Madonna è mitica, tutto ciò che fa, sia nel mondo dello spettacolo che in campo umanitario, è fantastico. Credo che una leggenda come lei debba avere la stima di tutti noi, indipendentemente dai gusti musicali che ognuno ha.

Welcome back Madonna!

I need a raising organization for me.
Between she is gourgeus!

Sorry but I would buy this had she not begun her numerous projects to “spread the word of kaballah” in Malawi. How dare you in the name of charity try to force your twisted beliefs onto a nation of people who are in serious need of economic help. She is sick and anything that she does has an agenda attached to it. I’m an Afrikan woman and I am completely disgusted with her adoption of a native child who she converted to a jew and her even sicker attempt to convert others in the country by building kaballah centers. How does this help anyone, maybe she should focus on her husband who’s in serious need of charity since she completely ruined his career. Screw her, we do not need her on our continent, we have enough diseases, we don’t need madonna.

Naima- Thank you so much for this post.
I wish more people, especially Africans, stand up to these celebrities who are using Africa to promote their careers. Like Madonna, so many of them are shallow.

And even worse, they are condescending to the African people, treating them like dumb children who can’t care for themselves without help from the white man. Madonna’s promotion of Kabbalah is no different from Christian and Islamic Missionaries…except those faiths are real and not a mystic bastardization of an ancient faith. She’s not doing it for them, she doing it to make her look good to the Kabbalah cabal.

I wish more Africans would speak up about Africa and her people being exploited, yet again.

Stephanie and Naima, clearly you haven’t read properly because Kaballah is not mentioned once in her plea.

Are you suggesting that the world turn their backs on the economic and social crisis occuring in parts of Africa and other parts of the globe? Do you really have a problem with people of other nations adopting orphaned African children and giving them a chance at education and life? Did you also speak up like this about Angelina’s adaption and Mia Farrow, Hugh Jackman and countless of other people who have adopted African children and assimilated them into their own cultures and belief systems? Do you not think that causes such as the genocide in Darfur are the responsibility of citizens of the world not just the people of that continent? Think carefully.

It is evident to me that your issue is that you just plainly hate Madonna when you say “How does this help anyone, maybe she should focus on her husband who’s in serious need of charity since she completely ruined his career. Screw her, we do not need her on our continent, we have enough diseases, we don’t need madonna” as this comment is just bichy and transparent.

Hugh Jackman has not adopted a boy from Africa. His son is American born with dark skin because his heritage is African American.

Is she really building Kaballah centres over there? Can’t she build medical centres instead. I never liked Madonna and then this post gave me a newfound respect for her but I can’t stand people that try and force their religious beliefs down other people throats. Religion causes so many problems in the world.

I really didn’t like the comment that said celebrities use Africa to promote their careers and are “condescending to the African people, treating them like dumb children who can’t care for themselves without help from the white man”. Um, I don’t know if u live in a box or whatever but a lot of people in Africa cannot feed their themselves or their children and do need help from the international community. This is because they are not born with the priviledges that people in developed countries are so they do not have the tools for economic development, it’s also due to exploitation of Africa by richer nations (which we never hear about).

I don’t think that people in poverty need to be ‘cared for’ they can do that themselves if they are given the tools they need(just like everybody else).

Listen carefully oh dumb yanks she does not have a british accent! Ok maybe her vovels are a bit longer than most yanks or maybe theres the odd expression or something, I can’t hear it myself she always speaks with a straight american drawl whenever I hear her, but that is a very long way from being an accent.
