Vanessa Hudgens’ Dad Goes Buckwild
Vanessa Hudgens scopes out a few $2 millon dollar homes in the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday afternoon.
The 18-year-old High School Musical star spent several hours house hunting with an agent. Vanessa looked at five houses, one of which was listed for $1.6 million.
Later in the day, Vanessa headed to the gym with her father, Greg, who angrily swung his water bottle at photographers as he left the gym with his daughter.
Vanessa, slightly embarrassed, yelled “Daaaaad!” during the bottle swinging. Watch the video here!

zvkg, what a small world. I’m also Filipino, Spanish and Chinese. I’m a Filipina-American though since I was born and raised in the USA. Like Vanessa I’ve never been to the Philippines and although I know a few words, I’m not fluent in Tagalog or Visayan which is the dialect my elders speak. My husband though is from PI and he’s usually the one translating for me if need be.
Yvie im just so glad to be with the same ethnicity as you (Filipino) and zvkg. And I am so proud that we all love Vanessa.

Oh my gawd! You’re visayan??? Wahhh!!! Syt! What a small world. I am too! Came in hawaii when I was 10, and now I’m in my middle 20s. But what a small small world. But you know the saying about Visayans right? hahaha. That’s why I thought V was one too. Because she’s sweet and yet, not that sweet. I don’t know if it’s a Visayan thing, but my mom would always tell me that Visayans are sweet in nature, but wild. It’s been accused that we’re witches too. hahaha. (not sure if the locals would know about it, but yeah…everytime I tell my Ilokano friends that I’m Visayan that’s the first thing they’d ask me.)Oh Yvie, you should definitely go there, Pinas at least once in your lifetime. The shopping you do there. gahhh!! And if you love the food, it’s even better. You can go to a cuisine restaurant for less than a $100. And the varities of fruits! Yummm! I miss it. Last time I went was in 2000. Still debating about going around May of next year…but we’ll see. My family is definitely going in 2010 for a reunion. But yes, definitely go there.

I think u are right visayans as far as i know are indeed sweet, I know some are mataray but kind and loving. Witches? I think there is some part of Visayan Region that they say has witches, idk just hearsay…And the food.. uhum! all delicious!

About her mom Gina Guangco, yes she’s using her maiden name but we have no idea why, we can only guess. But for sure they are still one
happy family.

#429 Exactly what ALL has Vanessa done? If you know something that the rest of us don’t please share with the class.
The paparazzi are the very epitome of class. The way they lurk in the bushes, get right in people’s faces and snap way they don’t people so much as a half an inch of space. And the way they yell intrusive questions. Yes indeed classy, classy individuals.
Look if you’re going to be a celebrity or allow you’re child to be one, you have to be prepared to make certain allowances, that’s just a cold hard fact. And I think Vanessa’s parents have clearly done that. But there’s a point where people are going to snap and say “That’s Enough. Back the hell off!” Sean Penn used to do all too frequently. Alec Baldwin has done it. Johnny Depp has done it. The main difference is they actually did with their firsts, Vanessa’s dad did it with water.
Another thing is Greg Hudgens is not the celebrity here, he doesn’t live his life in the spot light. In fact I was chatting with someone on line last night and we were wondering why we rarely if ever saw Vanessa’s dad. As far as I know this unfortunate incident is the first time he and Vanessa have been publicly photographed together since he accompanied her to New York this past spring. If anybody knows of another time please feel free to to correct me. Taking that into consideration is it so hard to understand why he blew his stack? I’m not saying he handled it right, to be honest, I don’t think he did. I chuckled at first but then I saw that it was just another reason for people to come down on Vanessa. Having said that, I also have to say I certainly can understand it.
I also have to wonder if it had been the relative of anyother teenaged celebrity would there have been the level of criticism that I’ve. I mean people actually seem to be siding with the paparazzi for crying out loud. Would there be this level of criticism if Vanessa hadn’t committed her atrocity against man and nature? I don’t think so.
Oh and I just want to add #429 that assumption you made that Vanessa’s dad is just “Living off her money” without having any fact support it, very classy.
V-LOYALIST, I really wish I was fluent in Tagalog because I know I miss out on a lot of good gossip and fun conversation. Hehehe. I’ve tried studying on my own, but unfortunately I’m lousy at learning languages. I took Spanish for two years in high school and sadly couldn’t learn but a few words and phrases.
I used to have TFC and would watch it all the time. My favorite shows were ASAP and Okie Dokie Doc. I was a big fan of Gary Valenciano and Regine Velasquez too. I even got to see them both in concert here in Hawaii. I also had the opportunity to meet Gary V and his family. Of course this was years ago when I was single.
I was raised with many of the values and traditions that my elders brought with them from the Philippines so I believe that’s why I’ve always been proud of my culture and heritage. I’m raising my daughters to have that same pride and knowledge about their nationality. Having a fellow Filipina like Vanessa be successful in the American entertainment industry has been such a wonderful inspiration to my girls. I hope we see more Filipinas/Filipinos accomplish the same thing.

Just to add my own thoughts … perhaps the reason we don’t see Mr. Hudgens a lot is because he’s a firefighter and probably works a lot. I mean, especially with the California wildfires that were going on he might’ve been busy with that and perhaps only now has he had any time to spend with Vanessa. And it could just very well be that he doesn’t have the patience to do with the paparazzi so for the most part he avoids having to deal with them. It just happened that on this day he had to and that one guy really pissed him off.

(#441 Yvie) There’s a lot to be proud of with the Filly culture. Vanessa is just the latest in the long line of Fil-Am women who’ve made it on the American screen scene. Remember Phoebe Cates, Victoria Principle, Nia Peeples, and Tia Carrere? Yes. Those exotic looks came from your own backyard, so to speak. There are others. You’d be amazed. (The other Vanessa, Nicole Scherzinger, Angela Barraquio, many others) They haven’t seen or heard the last from the Islands.

Mr. H looks like he could really put a hurt on someone if they even thought about looking at Vanessa crooked. That’s why Zac would never be mean to her. He’s probably afraid of Mr. H breaking him in half.
Just kidding. I know that Zac loves her. But he probably looks over his shoulder at those big arms that Mr. H has.
Thanks for the kind words Yvie. I think after watching the video for whatever reason we rarely see Mr. Hudgens he probably prefers it that way. I’m sure the paps will prefer it that way as well. I kind of wonder something had happened when he and Vanessa were entering the gym because it was one pap in particular he was mad at. We’ll never know but I think there’s probably a bit more to the story.
Hi WEDDING PEACH and you’re another Vanessa fan that I admire! =) Yes, you are so right. I can’t forget about all those other talented and beautiful Filipinas. There’s a few Filipino men who are handsome and talented too like Mark Dacascos, Paolo Montalban and the Basco brothers. I’ve noticed that the Disney Channel has featured several Fil-Ams besides Vanessa such as Lalaine, Brandon Baker and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle. We’ve come a long way, but we’re showing the world that we’ve got marketable talent too.
