Jessica, 27, plays Megan Valentine, a pampered movie-star joining the Army in a moment of weakness, but soon realizes she’s in over her head.

Dear god, my eyes! I’ve not even bothered with watching the trailer…the pic & the plot of the film is enough for me to know that this film will be shite…in fact I’m predicting razzies right now for whoever did this atrocity.
What a total rip-off of Private Benjamin, which is and remains a classic. But Jessica is no Goldie Hawn thats for sure. She cannot act to save her soul. I feel a RAZZIE award coming on. If I were her, I would be totally embarrased. If she really wants to be an actress, why not study the craft, take acting lessons? I cannot stand her, and wish to God she would move back to Texas and marry an Oil tycoon.

bad…but not as bad as i thought it would be….i think all my dislike is currently being used up on britney spears. i don’t have the energy to aim any true dislike jessica’s way……she should call up Lifetime. they like to use the same actresses over and over in their movies. the roles aren’t usually very demanding and she could get work for the rest of her life from them…..just a thought.

Looks like a cheap Made For TV Movie… I can’t believe Paris Hilton was waaaaaay better in “The Hillz”, LMAO!!! I hope that by the time the film’s release date comes around the distributers change their mind and release it as a straight to video film, or better yet, just forget about releasing it at all! I’m sorry, but some people are just NOT meant for acting and Jessica Simpson is one of those people!

#23 I was thinking the same thing! I thought that photo on GQ was iconic, poster-worthy. Exactly what the boys on the frontlines think of as their all-American girl, and in a flag bikini no less. She looked wholesome back then, and the big boobs, blonde hair, white teeth, fresh cheerful look, isn’t she even in a corn or wheat field? — it all added up just right.
But the movie poster — her hair is awful. It’s over the top trying too hard. Just like the movie. She’s ripped off a seminal role in a b-tv show for a movie, and now a classic role in a classic movie by another blonde — who happens to be one smart cookie, something Jessica will never be.
I agree — go back to what you do well, singing. You have to have intelligence to be a good actress. She has boobs and hair. If she really worked on her singing, she could be good at that. She’s 27 and her shelf life for “cute bimbo” is fast diminishing.

Private Benjamin is just alright..nothing great!! In fact, half of that movie is sooo draggy and boring. But I do love Goldie Hawn. Anyway I’m hoping Major Movie Star will be better and funnier. So far, judging from the trailer, it does look kinda hilarious but we’ll see how, when the movie comes out next year..

The bottomline is that she sucks as an actress. Doesn’t help that this movie like Blonde Ambition is amaterish to say the least. Those movies are nice tax write-offs. I think people dislike her because she still tries to command the spotlight despite the fact that she has very little talent to merit the attention or buzz. Actually there’s NO buzz around her just an air of desperation. I don’t even think she’s all that attractive. She’s certainly not unattractive..just not someone I’d stop in my tracks for. She should just keep singing and hawking stuff on QVC.
To be honest in terms of her not being able to act, I think that her acting in the film with Dane Cook was neither brilliant or awful. The role was so limited I couldn’t tell her range. Now this film and the Blonde ambition one all I have seen is a trailer so I couldn’t judge accurately.
I would like to see her in s serious role these comedic roles are too light and fluffy to judge the acting I think.

This looks like a major shitfest which will go straight-to-dvd…. I’m convinced Jessica Simpson is a really nice, friendly girl in real life, but she’s on the fast track to becoming a bigger joke than Britney Spears (well, she’s still got a long way to go). If Jessica (and other such “actresses”) wants to be taken seriously in her acting endeavors, she has to stop with the “make a quick buck” gimmick and at least alternate with secondary roles in higher level films. That being said, Jess makes me horny and I’ll watch the movie the minute it comes out, if only for that…

I really don’t care too much for Jessica Simpson one way or the other. I think that this movie would probably do much better if she weren’t in it. Having said that, Ryan Sypek (the guy she kisses in the trailer) does an amazing job on the ABCFamily drama Wildfire. It’s unfortunate that his first big role is opposite someone with so much public disdain, but I will be watching it–only for him of course.

That actually looks like a wonderful movie. It may not be one of the best movies, but it’s also not one of the worst. Some aspects of it are very different; who knew a movie star would join the army. Just remember not to judge the movie, if you haven’t even watched it yet. Infact, it might turn out to be one of you’er favorites towards the end-who knows. Oh and by the way, you should really reconsider giving your opinion on the character of the movie and not the actress, since the movie is about Megan Valentine and not Jessica Simpson.
( Just a little small advice to prevent anyone from sounding and looking foolish).
