Look, guys, here’s it is. We all love to see Zac and Vanessa’s rings. There is something sex and romantic about how deddicated they are about them. BUT everyone puts all their trust in a ring! I mean, they can actually be together, say in a car, and someone sees that Vanessa doesn’t have her ring and even though they say it doesn’t matter the immediately are making an excuse why she doesn’t have it so it will make them feel better. It’s the same with Zac. The entire week he didn’t wear that ring we saw Zac and Vanessa together all the time and Vanessa WAS wearing her ring but still people were all upset about Zac and making excuses. NOW today people don’t see the ring and it doesn’t matter that JUST YESTERDAY he AND Vanessa were shown with them on! Do you all really think over night they suddenly broke up and said OK, the ring comes off, etc? There would have to be trouble in paradise for a while before they both are going to take those rings off and say it is DEFINITELY over. I’m sure even when they do have a fight–which I’m sure they do—I’m sure they do not take those rings off because they know it is just a fight. That’s how people learn about each other and about compromise in a relationship. Do you think they have come this far without a few of those moments where they have had to “make up”? But in this case I doubt that it has anything to do with a fight. It just is. Let’s not all have a coronary because he doesn’t have the ring on in this particular picture. LASTLY, I know someone is going to say,”But we haven’t had a picture of them together for a lonnnng time”. They went out to breakfast on Sunday and it is now Friday. Count the day, people! It HASN’T been that long and everyday this week we have seen both with rings on.

i see a definite change in zac since he came back from australia with his dad. my perception is that his dad had some really good quality time with his son, and told him look if you love this girl, then accept her (mistakes and all) and lead your life with your heart. b/c if you walk around acting miserable in an attempt to discourage being in the press, then you know what? pretty soon you will be a miserable person, and there won’t be anyone around to share your life with.

Seems he’s been avoiding his regular gym lately and yet the paps still manage to track him down. I kinda feel sorry for poor Zac.

But then again, LOVE seeing his photos! How bad is that!

I think his dad encouraged him also. I think he pointed out that everyone already knew what kind of relationship he and Vanessa had so he should not be afraid to show it to the press—within reason. I think he told him to go with his heart and maybe he had to remind him to “be himself” no matter what happens.

I hope with all the craziness with the paps one thing has come out to Zac and Vanessa and that is people really care about them and the majority of people are pulling for them and not laughing behind their backs. I hope they see and can feel a world of support for them. Also, hopefully it will make them stronger especially when someone wants to bring them down and print hateful and untrue things about them.

Hey kgg,thanks for responding. It’s just a hunch I have, that he went home, cuz he wasn’t photographed from Sunday brunch with V until Thursday afternoon basketball. Can you provide a link for the Monday shopping photos? Also, that day that Vanessa was photographed outside his condo, I think she was just going in to retrieve something she had left there that she probably needed, or water his plants or whatever.

Karen, I love your sentiment in one of your last posts, about how many people are pulling for these two. They just seem so darn nice, it’s hard not to. I just want to see them succeed so bad, career-wise. Relationship-wise, whatever will be, will be. They are soooo young and while many people do have successful marriages after marrying young, it’s much more common to wait until at least 23-24 to settle down with someone, if not later. I’m sure they’re having a ton of fun with each other though, and at this age, that’s what counts. They have to realize that they will have many co-stars in the future, and sometimes those friendships blossom into romances. In Zac’s interviews, he sounds like he knows this, hence the reference to “ask me again in 10 years.” BTW, I think it’s about time for Zac to do another magazine interview. I really loved the Rolling Stone cover story. Does anyone have a link to the Rolling Stone story?

Karen# I have to agree the change in Zac since Aussie is really obvious where Vanessa is concerned as a load of us have said and it has been plainly obviuous that they have been more than best friends for a while now and you can only keep saying that and behaving like that for so long, but other things gave it away without them having to actually say anything.

Perhaps that was all Zac needed was some good quality father/son time without the press in their faces and I’m glad that they got it becuase whatever they did do and talk about seems to have wroked. As you say there is nothing showing to the world howyou feel about someone and to the press within reason so to methem holding hands in public is a really big step to showing everyone ‘look we’re together and happy’ but nothing more.

And there is a saying that ‘Absent make’s the heart grow fonder’ so I would imagine that being away from Vanessa for so long just made Zac how much he really doe’s love her, after all I think it has got to be the longest that they had been parted for a while.

And I agree jb# it could’nt have been easy trying to just be friends in public and having to watch everything you did, but why should they hide what they have it’s a beatiful thing when you find your bestfriend and soul mate so be proud and follow your heart which is obvioulsy what they’re doing now.

I think it is quite possible that they will move in together at some point wheather it will be this year is another thing after all finding your first home can sometime’s take a while as it has to feel right, some of the house’s were only two bedroom which kinda does’nt make sense for it to be a family home, but it does make sense for either Zac and Vanessa or Vanessa and maybe Ashley. I can’t see Zac or Vanessa broadcasting to the world when and if they do move in together I imagine that they would try and keep it as quiet as possible so by Vanessa going on her own the press can speculate like the rest of us weather she is looking for a place for her or her family.

Moving in togetheris a bit step but Zac is no longer ateenager and neither is Vanessa going to be much longer Imean she’s 19 this year, but it’s not like they would be jumping into something quick they have been together for a while and built up a relactionship that I’m sure after 2 years the subject of what they want in the future together as a couple has come up and where they see themselves.

So far Zac and Vanessa have proved the doubters wrong who either kept on saying ‘it’s apublicity stunt’or ‘they’re to young to make it’ and all the break uprumours that practically appear every week through all of that they have ignored it and just got on with being a couple showing the world what they want the world to see in their relactionship when they are comfortable doing that, whatever next big steps they take is their buisness but I wish them well and honestly think that as long as they contiune to listhen to each other and work on their relactionship which after nearly 3years is good that they will make it long term and good for them.

Off course they’re going to have their up’s and down’s what couple does’nt weather your in the pubic eye or not, but it’s how you deal with it and work through it as a couple is what make’s the difference,as Kenny has said himself when they were filming HSM2 the one thing that had’nt changed and I hope it never does is the ‘bond’ that they have with each other, a bond takes time to grow but if it’s strong enough which their’s obvioulsy is, it takes alot more than break up rumours and doubter’s to break that between a couple.

I’m sure that their closest friends have talked to them about their relactionship but considering how private Zac like’s to be even closest friends need to know when to but out,giving your opnion is one thing but at the end of the day your not in that relactionship they are and they know how far to take things,you can still contiune to have fun in a relactionship even after you have been together as long as Zac and Vanessa has. But true friends know when to back off and let you make your choices and decisions about your own life and where it’s going and who with.

And I think that Zac take’s a lot of his parent’s adviceandasI have aid the time he spent with his dad with Aussie obvioulsy made a difference, but even they at the end of the day can’t live his life for him but they obvioulsy trust him enough for him to do that, same as Vanessa’s parents seem to. after seeings Vanessa dadI can’t imagine that he would let her stop over at Zac’s if he did’nt trust Zac with his daughter and trust him to look after her and treat her right, and her mom is okay with it.

That was a good reply for Zac ‘ ask me in 10 years’ after all I don’t suppose when he auditoned for HSM that he thought ‘right I’m going to meet my girlfriend today’ to him it was just another audition but they did the right thing they’re even now theirtaking things slow, kept it quiet for as long as they could. Here is my point. They got these rings on vacation in Hawaii correct! Were any of you there to see who paid for these rings? Zac used to wear rings often. He has a tendency to lose them when he is filming. There have been articles in magazines about this. How do any of you know if Zac bought V’s ring and vise versa for that matter?
I mean it is possible that they saw them in a shop and decided to each get one for themselves. How this all got blown up into commitment rings is beyond me.

I am not saying that they are not dating. I know that they are, and I am not some little jealous teenie bopper stirring up trouble. I just happen to remember Zac saying he isn’t ready for commitment yet. He is too young. V’s is younger still. I think they just need to chill a little and maybe play the field before jumping into something serious. This is the first serious thing for both of these young actors, and to not have any other experiences to compare it to isn’t exactly the best thing. That is where trust issues and jealousy come in to play.

Just a thought for all of you die hard “Zanessa” fan’s. Oh, one more thought…. Their names are Zac and Vanessa. How do you all think that they feel being known as Vanessa’s boyfriend… or Zac’s girlfriend? I am sure that they still would like to be known for themselves as individuals with their own accomplishments. I just feel like “Zanessa” is so out of control, not to mention over rated.

#225 She can spend as much time as she wants with her boyfriend as it is no ones business and unless you are Zac Efron in disguise you don’t know **** about what is going on in their relationship. She has done well in her career so far @ the age of 18 she has made enough money that she is now considering buying her 1st home which most people at that age can’t imagine doing. Also she in the HSM franchise and has done the films , soundtracks and National arena tours. She has also appeared in two other feature films b4 ‘Thirteen’ and ‘Thunderbirds’. So she is working hard on her Career but what you don’t understand is the entertainment industry is not the kind of place where you work every single day. You can go from working every single day for months at a time to a period when you have more free time to relax.

I’d like to think that flirt is not the right word to describe
zac but a very friendly guy, generally if he is at ease w/ the person he hangout with. What i heard is that he got close w/ nikki and amanda when they did hairspray and its very common for them to become close since they have the same age similarity. The way i see it Zac is always full of fun to be with, thats the reason why Vanessa and him connect the first time they met.

You claim to love Vanessa, yet in your last post you insulted her and her choice to be with Zac and her character.

AS for the ring thing, have you not read any of the posts on this topic?! The ring is symbol, sure, and something that all us Zanessa fans look for but it’s not the be all and end all of their relationship. I’m quite sure there is a perfectly normal explanation for its absence.

i just read thru the posts..

when zac had asked the interviewer to ‘ask him again in 10 years’ about relationships i really took that to mean that i think in his mind he was going to still be with vanessa at that time and would probably be happy to talk about it by then or it would be obvious.

i really do think he is totally in love with vanessa, and vice versa.
they would not have made it this far if they were not.

as for the ring, my husband commented that of course he should not wear a ring when playing basketball. could hurt someone etc etc. (he always rolls his eyes when i ask him these random questions from left field)

well, i am still hoping zac goes to the amas too! kind of surprises he is not presenting actually.

i would like to see them as ‘roomates’. think it would be cool. and i realize that people don’t want them super serious, and i get that, but when they are as serious as they are now (ie. exclusive by all accounts) it is really hard to chill out and take a step back.

Just trying to think back to all the posts here….
I agree that Zac must have had an epiphany in Australia with his dad. Prior to that, he seemed ill-at-ease in public whenever he was with V, and actually seemed pissed in lots of pictures. I was especially disappointed in the Kid’s Choice Award pics; I don’t think there was 1 of him smiling, and his whole personna seemed different. I think dad made him see that he needs to be at peace with what has become of his life. He needs to be happy, and not be stressed over the situation anymore. Since then, he seems relaxed, happy going about his life and his relationship with V.

I also wonder if, from a public relations perspective, that he may have kept his relationship with V under wraps because of concern over losing his female fans. It’s pretty obvious that AIN’T happening!! So, he can be himself, and not care that people know about them.

The ring thing…..OMG, get over that, people. He can wear it whenever he wants!

282# That is a thought about not wanting to loosae female fans not becuase Zac’s vain but it would’nt be the first time that a hottie has been advised by his people if you like not to be open or to public about his love life when they are as popular as what Zac has become, after all some fans take it well other’s don’t, but I think for all those one’s that don’t once you realize that it’s Zac’s life and he’ll choose who and what make’s him happy that’s all that counts.

Both myself and my daughter love HSM and are just happy thatnot just for Zac but for all the cast that they did a movie that turned out so good it’s a family movie with a great cast and a great message, and we lookforward to seeing both Zac and Vanessa in HSM3 and who knows what or if they’ll do anymore movie’s together but it does’nt matter. Still would support Zac and Vanessa weather as a couple or seperate.

I personally can’t wait to get Hairspray as much for John Travolta as for Zac it looks a great film with a great cast.

rosielee9, I also loved HSM for the entire cast. I thought it was well done for a Disney Channel movie. Zac and Vanessa were just the icing on the cake!

Hairspray was another great ensemble cast. Everyone was so good, and I don’t honestly think Zac’s role was that big. That movie didn’t need romantic chemistry to be good. That’s really not what the story was about. And I can’t wait to buy it too!!

I don’t see why people want them to experience relactionship’s with other people and play the field as it is put, then all the comments would comeout, like see told you it was only for publicity and not real.

Why do people find it so hard to accept that they know their own minds and are obvioulsy happy to be with each other and not want to go hopping from one partner to another, when they have found something special with each other and want to build on that, so they met young but that does’nt mean that their relactionship is any less real then say if they had met when they were both in their twenties.

When you know something is right with someone age does’nt come into it you either know or you don’t.

My best mate’s sister and her partner have been together since they were 17 and they are both now in their forties and still happy, sure they have their rows what couple does’nt if they tell the truth but I know them both and they work it out, becuase they want it to work and arguments and making up is part of any relactionship if you want it bad enough youwork at it to make it work.

And for all we know both Vanessa and Zac could have had relactionships before but they never felt quite right it did’nt click, but in Zac and Vanessa case as they have both said they just clicked from the very first auditions and it carried on from
and got built on with only family and close friends knowing which I think is good, and if they can grab some private time now well good luck to them.

Hope we getsome good photo’s of the events that the HSM cast are attending, I’m sure we will what with the DVD launch andother things that have been mentioned,will be great to see the cast bag togther again they always look as if they have a blast when they meet up again.

Right on, rosielee9. I completely agree. I’m still old fashioned and believe that when you find someone that you’re extremely attracted to, love to be with, dream with, and have fun with, then it’s worth fighting for!! May Zac and Vanessa prove all the pessimists wrong!!

Karen and Go Sox, I totally agree with you that people seem to think you have to date around a lot and see what’s out there before you get serious and make a commitment. The analogy I like to use is that when you are looking to buy a car, people think you have to “kick” a lot of tires and test drive several models before you make your final decision.
However, I do not agree with this type of thinking. Let me use the example of buying the car: If a person knows exactly what they want in a car and they find it immediately, then why do they need to test drive any others? When you find what you want and it meets everything on your “wish list,” then you buy the car. End of story.

The same thing can be true with a love relationship. That’s what happened with my husband and me. We were in high school; I was 15 and he was 16. We were perfect for each other and loved every minute we spent in each other’s company. I met all the qualities he had on his wish list and he met all the ones on mine. We were together through high school and into college. During our second year in college, people convinced him that we were too young to really know what we wanted in a life partner. They convinced him that he needed to date others and “shop around” - just to be sure…..so, out of fear and doubt, he broke up with me. During the 8 months that we were apart, my husband dated other women. And you know what? HE WAS MISERABLE. Experiencing different women didn’t change his “wish list” at all. It didn’t broaden his thinking or help him to “be sure.” You know why? BECAUSE HE ALREADY KNEW WHAT HE WANTED BEFORE HE MET ME. But you ask, how could he have known that when he was only 17 yrs. old?? Well, for one thing, he had parents & grandparents & others who all had long-lasting marriages and happy, loving relationships. He learned from all of those examples in his life. Second, he was more mature than the average 17 year-old guy. Third, he set his goals in life very high and worked hard to acheive them; in other words, he had a very good head on his shoulders.

My husband and I married the week after we graduated college and we have been married for 26 years. We are living, walking proof that people like Zac and Vanessa may very well already know that they have found their soulmate. And that once you have found them, there is no need to “shop around” just because you are young.

From the interviews I’ve watched on youtube, Zac and Vanessa remind me of how my husband and I were at their age. Like us, both Z & V have parents who have lasting marriages and who set good examples of a healthy, happy relationship. Also, Z & V are both more mature than many people their ages and they both set high goals for themselves. In addition, both Z & V both have a career and earn an income.

Now, I’m not suggesting that Zac and Vanessa will always be together -or that they are soulmates - only they know that. But what I am saying is that I don’t believe they are too young to know what they are looking for in a life partner, AND they are certainly not too young to know when they have found that person. I know many couples who met each other when they were in high school or college, got married and are still very happy. Interestingly, two of my friends (40+ yrs old) even wish they had stayed with and married their first love. All these years later, they look back and realize that they had indeed found their soulmate, and they regret letting him slip through their fingers.

Even with the high divorce rate these days, true love can and does prevail! And young love isn’t always just “puppy love”……it really can be the real thing!

326# I totally agree with you, you just know when you’ve found the right someone where you connect on every level that is importantr to you. And that does’nt mean that you have to be togerther 24/7 to know that you just do, so like youI hope they make it becuase when it does happen it’s worth working on it. People make to much of their agaes, you can just hear people when they’re both well into their 20’s and if there still together which only time will tell but people will still say they don’t know what they want and should still try being with other partner’s, but at the end of the day it’s their choices and their life which at the moment their obvioulsy happy sharing with each other, so good luck to them.
