Zac Efron is a Ponytail Pimp
Zac Efron meets up with some friends in Los Angeles Friday afternoon to shoot some hoops at a local basketball court.
The 20-year-old High School Musical star wore his famous top-knot ponytail once again, which he debuted about two weeks ago. Since then, Zac tends to wear beanies to cover up his hair or puts his hair in a ponytail while working out.

Karen and Go Sox, I totally agree with you that people seem to think you have to date around a lot and see what’s out there before you get serious and make a commitment. The analogy I like to use is that when you are looking to buy a car, people think you have to “kick” a lot of tires and test drive several models before you make your final decision.
However, I do not agree with this type of thinking. Let me use the example of buying the car: If a person knows exactly what they want in a car and they find it immediately, then why do they need to test drive any others? When you find what you want and it meets everything on your “wish list,” then you buy the car. End of story.
The same thing can be true with a love relationship. That’s what happened with my husband and me. We were in high school; I was 15 and he was 16. We were perfect for each other and loved every minute we spent in each other’s company. I met all the qualities he had on his wish list and he met all the ones on mine. We were together through high school and into college. During our second year in college, people convinced him that we were too young to really know what we wanted in a life partner. They convinced him that he needed to date others and “shop around” - just to be sure…..so, out of fear and doubt, he broke up with me. During the 8 months that we were apart, my husband dated other women. And you know what? HE WAS MISERABLE. Experiencing different women didn’t change his “wish list” at all. It didn’t broaden his thinking or help him to “be sure.” You know why? BECAUSE HE ALREADY KNEW WHAT HE WANTED BEFORE HE MET ME. But you ask, how could he have known that when he was only 17 yrs. old?? Well, for one thing, he had parents & grandparents & others who all had long-lasting marriages and happy, loving relationships. He learned from all of those examples in his life. Second, he was more mature than the average 17 year-old guy. Third, he set his goals in life very high and worked hard to acheive them; in other words, he had a very good head on his shoulders.
My husband and I married the week after we graduated college and we have been married for 26 years. We are living, walking proof that people like Zac and Vanessa may very well already know that they have found their soulmate. And that once you have found them, there is no need to “shop around” just because you are young.
From the interviews I’ve watched on youtube, Zac and Vanessa remind me of how my husband and I were at their age. Like us, both Z & V have parents who have lasting marriages and who set good examples of a healthy, happy relationship. Also, Z & V are both more mature than many people their ages and they both set high goals for themselves. In addition, both Z & V both have a career and earn an income.
Now, I’m not suggesting that Zac and Vanessa will always be together -or that they are soulmates - only they know that. But what I am saying is that I don’t believe they are too young to know what they are looking for in a life partner, AND they are certainly not too young to know when they have found that person. I know many couples who met each other when they were in high school or college, got married and are still very happy. Interestingly, two of my friends (40+ yrs old) even wish they had stayed with and married their first love. All these years later, they look back and realize that they had indeed found their soulmate, and they regret letting him slip through their fingers.
Even with the high divorce rate these days, true love can and does prevail! And young love isn’t always just “puppy love”……it really can be the real thing!
When I posted my message earlier today I thought nobody might see it since I figured people would have moved on to a newer thread. I really enjoyed your story, ck. As I was trying to say in my earlier post, if Zac and Vanessa find they are extremely happy with what they have in each other, why should they look for something better? If it is that good the chances there is anything else out there better is pretty slim. Then what have you done to the magic that is right now? You have kind of tarnished it. But I am the first to say IF a person has questions about their relationship before a committment is made, then they should not do anything drastic and long lasting until you are sure.

326# I totally agree with you, you just know when you’ve found the right someone where you connect on every level that is importantr to you. And that does’nt mean that you have to be togerther 24/7 to know that you just do, so like youI hope they make it becuase when it does happen it’s worth working on it. People make to much of their agaes, you can just hear people when they’re both well into their 20’s and if there still together which only time will tell but people will still say they don’t know what they want and should still try being with other partner’s, but at the end of the day it’s their choices and their life which at the moment their obvioulsy happy sharing with each other, so good luck to them.
You tell ‘em, ck!! That’s exactly what I think, cause it happened to me too. Having lots of quickie relationships doesn’t change what you are looking for; it just makes it more obvious! Why would you break up with someone who is exactly what you dream of?? Just because others think you’re young?? And like what happened to you when you were broken up, you just keep looking for exactly what you had. Couples don’t stay together if they’re not compatible on every level. And most people will admit there was always one in their past they “let slip away”……
If Zac and Vanessa are meant to be, then it will happen!! Sounds really corny, but it really is true!

Anyway, If I absolutely loved what I had found and there was nothing lacking from what I really wanted, why would I go to see if there was anything else better? Happiness is like that is rare and even if you would find something just as good what purpose would it serve. You would probably spend so much of your time looking when you could already be with someone who makes your world better. So all you would have to show for it is wasted time being miserable and lonely while you were looking. The worst is after all the searching you may never come close to it in another person and if you went back that person may have moved on which means you would have lost out all the way around. I say, when you find a good thing, hold on tight for it may never come around again. Gambling on love isn’t such a good thing.
