Fashion Faceoff: French Connection Dress
Rosario Dawson celebrated the 2nd anniversary weekend of Tao Las Vegas on Saturday in a sequined minidress by French Connection. The Grindhouse actress finished off her look with cute pink heels with purple straps.
Vanessa Hudgens wore the same colorful minidress to the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Party back in September. The High School Musical star completed her look with a pair of simple black Christian Louboutin pumps.
Who wore it best — ROSARIO DAWSON or VANESSA HUDGENS?

justjared please look for photos of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as bridesmaids . They were looking GREAT (something unusual for the twins) I seen some photos http://www.7gfb.com/?p=379 and it was a shock to see them not sporting their ‘trademark’ homeless chic. I also seen a photo of Rosario puling up her dress on The Red carpet. My vote goes to Vanessa. I love that dress, and Vanessa is sporting it. :)

i would say vanessa, but her make-up was WAY overdone when she wore it & it just didnt look right with the dress. plus, it looks like a fun dress & vanessa didnt seem to be having any fun. [yes, i know why & she has every right to be feeling awkward but maybe she should've saved it for another time. she looks so out of it.] rosario looks like shes just trying to have a great time, and her shoes look betetr with it too.

I think Rosario is having more fun in it, and I like it shorter, like it is on her. But Vanessa always looks beautiful in those jewel tones, and I love her hair too. I think they both look fabulous. They are in different settings, so of course the attitudes they portray in their poses are bound to be different. There is no denying (unless you’re just looking to be mean) that both of these ladies are gorgeous and wear the dress beautifully.
We all have our preferences, and this site is definitely a hot spot for Vanessa these days, but let’s not bash Rosario Dawson.

Not being baised either… that’s just how I would wear it. The dress is innundated with color already and to add the colorful shoes, even though it matches… is just too much… too busy. As far as the topic at hand goes, like Steph (#91) I’m not crazy about the dress itself -not that I really pay attention to such things. But I think I would have to go with Vanessa. Rosario may be having more “fun” with it, but it really doesn’t seem to suit her for some reason. Someone earlier in the thread remarked that it was a younger person’s dress, maybe that’s it.
But yeah I would have to go with Vanessa.

The dress is at least one size too gig for Vanessa. And I think it’s too old for her.
A better photo of Rosario in the outfit is needed - but I think she is the winner by far. Her shoes make the outfit, and the dress fits her much better, mostly because it is a shorter length on her bod.
She is not ugly! people, get real, that is just not the most flattering photo. Almost no one looks good winking.

I think Vanessa wore it best as she kept it simple with a pair of black classy heels so not to take it away from the dress and kept her hair simple. I liked that she dared to jazz up her make-up a bit for a night out and think she pulled it off. I have that very dress from French Connection, and I wore it to a mates 21st lately. I had some flashy heels but they didn’t look right so wore it with some black peep toes and it set it off nicely. I jazzed up my make-up a bit as it needed it. Paris Hilton has the white version of that dress and looked lush in it. I think good on Vanessa for glitzing it up at her first public appearance since everything. Why shouldn’t she, she has nothing to hide. She did what she did years ago before she was mega famous and being the human being she is obviously regrets it, but no one is perfect and we cannot change the past, just choose whether to dwell in it or rise above it. Vanessa has chosen the latter and that is why I still support her 100%. Her personal life doesn’t affect how talented she is.
Rosario still looked nice in it, she just chose a different look so good for her and she looks like she is having a fab time.
Oh, this is tough…knee jerk reaction is Vanessa because 1)she’s gorgeous in anything and 2) just love her. That being said, I can see what Amy #241 is saying about the makeup BUT there are lighting differences between the two photos that make me think Rosario may be wearing just as much makeup but it stands out more on V’s photo…and, while this is a general rule, when you’re going to be photographed, makeup being exaggerated is pretty common I think…well, at least from a general photography standpoint and I suspect for celebs. I agree that V has a more classic look and Rosario’s is more fun. Ah, heck…I can’t decide…they both look great considering I also do not love this dress. Personally, I like V in the simpler dresses like the red one from the HSM2 premiere or the black one from the MTV awards, but she really can rock pretty much anything.

First, let’s describe the dress. The colors of the dress are vibrant and playful which represent fun and enjoying yourself. It’s short so it’s okay to be active and not be pinned back by the way the dress is fitted. It also looks like it might need to be pulled up on occasion. Just because there were no pictures of Vanessa pulling it up, doesn’t mean she didn’t. As said earlier at the event she wore it, she left pretty early.
Rosario. Rosario wore it best because she seems to be having a more fun time in it. Plus the outgoing smile she has on her face really makes the dress seem, well, better. Plus the more fun she seems to be having, the more the dress’ colors don’t stand out too much. It allows us to really recognize her face more than just the dress.
However, Vanessa is the exact opposite. She’s basically standing there for the paparazzi and the little photocall and allowing the ability to move around and have fun go to waste. All she’s doing is standing there, plain and dull. It’s not fun, it doesn’t draw your eyes to her. It just draws it to the dress. And her hair didn’t suit the dress that well either. She looks a little unsure of herself, and awkward.
