Angelina Jolie Pens ‘Economist’ Article
Angelina Jolie has penned an article for The Economist, a London-based weekly international news and business publication.
According to Britain’s The Guardian, Angie’s article will be published tomorrow in the Economist’s annual spin-off issue, The World in 2008. Angie’s piece covers the “accountability for the atrocities in Darfur” and her photo byline describes her as a “goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.”
Angelina Jolie: Hollywood actress, UN goodwill ambassador, mother-of-four and now author for The Economist!
UPDATE: Here are some quotes:
– “Accountability is perhaps the only force powerful enough to break the cycle of violence and retribution that marks so many conflicts.”
– “I hope that the Sudanese government will hand over the government minister and the Janjaweed militia leader who have been indicted for war crimes (by the International Criminal Court in The Hague), and that the teenager I met in Chad will get the trial he seeks.”
– “I hope that those responsible for the atrocities in Darfur will be held to account, not only for that young man’s sake, but for the world’s.”

I think it makes the trolls/haters really angry that no matter what is written and said about Angie in the tabs/blogs/papers/entertainment shows, she is still respected by the people who matter. Like for example this week, they expected her to be ashamed of the whole pants/gum thing, but there she was at work yesterday enjoying herself. Then today we get the news that she’s writing a piece for another respectable magazine and it’s just killing them. After all, Angie should be in hiding right now, too ashamed to show her face. What they don’t realize is that Angie has gone through too much and so much false stuff has been said about her, people have made fun of her alot, BUT that has never stopped her and it’s not going to stop her now. In fact, she just keeps on moving forward as other people keep on looking back. :)

Always and forever proud to be Angie’s fan. Will definitely buy this mag. As someone said before, if those stupid rags only realized how many more mags they will sell if they printed more truths about the Angie, or rather the JPs on the whole.

What’s funny to me, is that is all they have? That’s their A Game. Split pants and gum on her shoe and she’s going down? That’s it? It would be funny, if it wasn’t so sad.
They have Angelina confused with their girl. You know, the one that allowed Kimberly Stewart, of all people, to take her out, for a night, when she called her homely. She’s a great manipulator though. Whining, don’t be mean to me, I can’t handle it. Sniffle, sniffle.

Jenn go home to Norman. He missed you!
Seriously, Angie is becoming my hero..can she do no wrong? and people wonder why Brad is madly in love with her.
what happend to my post?
The Economist is one magazine that loves words LOL! She may be doing more of this kind of thing on her sabbatical. Keep doing your thing Angelina. It was good to see malibumom post here.
Fantastic! Angelina is well deserving of all the wonderful things that is coming her way - even if it is recognized from other countries, other than the judgemental U.S. of A. Now wait! I am a U.S. citizen, and sadly, it is horrible to see that Angelina who does so much for the other contries, and the U.S.; cannot shake off the studitiy that the tabloids have dressed her up to be. She is REAL! There are so many that love her…! Wish we could show it more, here in the U.S….

Seriously, if ALL the horrible horrible negative stuff that was written and said about her by the media outlets after the AMH NY premiere did not bring her down, how the hell is split pants and gum on shoe supposed to do that?
#85 I totally agree. I just love her and even though I didn’t really know much about Brad, I have become a huge fan. He does a great job of supporting her and it is obvious that she appreciates it and loves him for it. Can we vote for the TIME person of the year. I think Angie deserves just for all the tabloid crap she has to put up with.

Angelina Jolie continues her call for justice in Darfur, writing an essay about the Sudanese region in an upcoming edition of The Economist.
The actress, who serves as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, discusses the Darfur crisis in a special Economist section devoted to predictions for 2008, the Guardian newspaper reports.
Jolie joins several presidents and the head of the United Nations in the roster of writers featured in the issue.
In an op-ed piece in the Washington Post in February, Jolie discussed the frustration of not being able to revisit Darfur after earlier trips there.
She wrote, “This might be the moment we stop the cycle of violence and end our tolerance for crimes against humanity.”

IF both things happened and by that, the pants. She/they probably laughed over it. Like, someone earlier said, if that’s the worse thing that happened, they were way ahead of the curve for the day. LOL.
I am so awe-struck by this woman.
Ms Smith…..
you are sooo miserable and lonely aren’t you? you even had to name yourself mr & mrs to give youself imaginary company in your moniker. you must be hard up for male companionship. how fat and ugly are you anyway? you certainly spend a lot of time here attempting to relieve your angst on complete strangers and spend time with your cyber pals. i’m sorry no man wants you. that must be sad for you. no wonder you think angie’s so great. you wish you were her.
Doria, how old are you? If you are over 12, I really feel sorry for you. You do realize everything you wrote was BS, right? It’s all from tabloids. How many times was Angie getting married, or is pregnant, or Brad leaving Angie with Shiloh did you read in those magazines you read as if it’s your bible? None of them came true. At some point a light bulb should have gone through your head that maybe, just maybe, things you hear or read about Angie are usually false.
Thank you JJ for another thread. Congrats to Angie!!!!!!,
hahahaha, trolls are so funny, they tell us to get a life and yet they are here posting….hahahahaha!!!!!!!!, dudh?
