OlderAngelina Jolie Pens ‘Economist’ Article
Angelina Jolie has penned an article for The Economist, a London-based weekly international news and business publication.
According to Britain’s The Guardian, Angie’s article will be published tomorrow in the Economist’s annual spin-off issue, The World in 2008. Angie’s piece covers the “accountability for the atrocities in Darfur” and her photo byline describes her as a “goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.”

Doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t think it’s really about Angie, it’s about riling the JP fans over there. Also, today nothing they write can bother me because Angie writing for The Economist has me all happy. :)

Wow! People must have gotten quite a scolding from some of you about the gum and pants because their article about Angie’s piece in the Economist was one of the first things I saw today. Good job!

People dropped the ball and I had to ask them if gum on the shoe and supposedly split pants were truly news worthy. I asked why they didn’t carry the story about Angelina receiving the Freedom Award? And why it wasn’t deed news worthy?
When Times had that crappy writeup on Angie earlier this year, I did the same. It’s our job to make the so-called legitimate news outlet step up to the plate and do the right thing, IMO.

I’ve been a big fan of The Economist for years. Never has a journal provided more comprehensive and intelligent coverage of world events, including unique perspectives. Whenever it came into the office, I would immediately monopolize each issue. As an AJ fan, I was THRILLED to hear they are publishing one of her articles. It is an internationally-recognized, widely resepected journal, and her inclusion in it is indicative of her INTERNATIONAL REPUTATION, not what some low-brow rag magazines and radio djs think of her.
