OlderAngelina Jolie Pens ‘Economist’ Article
Angelina Jolie has penned an article for The Economist, a London-based weekly international news and business publication.
According to Britain’s The Guardian, Angie’s article will be published tomorrow in the Economist’s annual spin-off issue, The World in 2008. Angie’s piece covers the “accountability for the atrocities in Darfur” and her photo byline describes her as a “goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.”

Cruise film “Lions” a lamb at foreign box office Tue Nov 13, 5:37 AM ET
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Tom Cruise’s “Lambs” got slaughtered at the worldwide box office.

The political drama “Lions for Lambs,” essentially an art-house project, adopted a blockbuster strategy by opening in 45 foreign markets and North America during the weekend. The plan misfired, with the film pulling in just $10.3 million from international theaters, and $6.7 million from North America, according to final sales data issued Monday.
Although Cruise is the big name and the film marks the first release from United Artists since he and business partner Paula Wagner took control of the dormant studio a year ago, UA executives are billing it as a Robert Redford vehicle, since the Hollywood veteran directed and co-stars. Meryl Streep is also part of the blue-ribbon lineup.
Facing mostly negative reviews, “Lambs” opened at No. 2 in both Spain ($2.2 million) and Australia ($857,000), at No. 5 in Germany ($999,000) and Brazil ($429,000), and at No. 6 in the U.K. ($1.4 million).
Industry experts said that despite the big marketing push and the huge stars involved, “Lambs” evidently did not attract its target upscale audience and failed to cross over to the general public.
Although “Lions for Lambs” was the top Hollywood entry overseas, it was crushed by two Bollywood films — “Om Shanti Om,” which claimed a $17 million opening in India, and “Saawariya,” which is said to have delivered $15.4 million from 13 markets, all but $1 million from India. (Additionally in North America, “Om Shanti Om” opened at No. 11 with $1.8 million, while “Saawariya” was No. 24 with $542,000.)
“Ratatouille,” the top overseas grosser for five weeks in row, came in second to “Lambs” in the English-speaking category, recording $9.1 million from 29 markets for a foreign total of $388.4 million.
Elsewhere, “El Orfanato” maintained the No. 1 spot in Spain for the fifth weekend in a row, generating $2.4 million for a market total to date of $29.1 million. In Italy, “Come Tu Mi Vuoi” opened at No. 1 with $3.2 million. Local films also dominated the market in Korea (”Le Grand Chef”) and Japan (”Sky of Love”). Ang Lee’s “Lust, Caution” opened at No. 2 in Korea, pulling in about $1.8 million in its first three days.

Still hurting that much? And to answer you, MOST of the people in the world that consists of 6,630,961,497 people, don’t know who Brad and Angie are. That’s why as the UN said, the REFUGEES LOVE Angie because they don’t see her through a tabloid infested mind. All she is to them is someone who is there for them, someone who cares about them. Remember in India, MOST of the people there didn’t know who they were until all the media hoopla about them began. If Brad and Angie were hated worldwide, there would be NO pandemonium like crowds for their premieres, especially outside the U.S. Look at the crowd that was at the AMH Cannes premiere, look at the crowd that was at the TAOJJ Toronto premiere. Also, compare the crowd that Brad and Angie had at the Beowulf London premiere and the crowd Tom Cruise had in London for his Lions of the Lambs premiere. There is no comparison. Face it, even some people in America which consists of 303,359,600 people don’t know who Brad and Angie are. Case in point, just a few months ago when the JP family arrived in New York and Brad and Maddox went to get some hot dogs and the guy selling the hot dogs to them was reported as saying he didn’t know who they were. Also, you cannot say that all those over 300 million Americans hate the JPs. The JPs are here to stay and you’ve got to face the facts that ALOT of people do like them.

Angelina Jolie goes “berserk” over Jennifer Aniston

Angelina Jolie reportedly went “berserk” when she heard that her rival Jennifer Aniston is spending time with the Pitt family during Thanksgiving. Jolie is allegedly mad that Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane Pitt, invited her son’s ex-wife to celebrate Thanksgiving.
“When she found out, Angelina went berserk,” a source says. “She thinks Jane is keeping what she calls a sneaky relationship with Jennifer.”
“That’s it then, we’ll be staying in Los Angeles. It’s all so cozy it’s sick,” a source claims Jolie told Brad.
According to reports, Aniston and Jane have stayed very close even after Pitt and Aniston’s divorce. Jane allegedly doesn’t like Jolie because she refuses to marry Pitt.
“She (Jolie) has pulled no punches, and has made it clear to Brad that there will be no family harmony while Jane keeps up her friendship with Jen,” the source adds.
