OlderMadonna & Gucci Team Up For Malawi
Madonna is joining forces with Gucci to raise funds for orphans in Malawi, Africa.
According to Reuters, Madge and Gucci will host a fund-raising event with dinner, a musical performance and a party on February 6, 2008 to mark the opening of Gucci’s largest store in the world, on New York’s Fifth Avenue.
The event will benefit UNICEF and the charity she co-founded in 2006, Raising Malawi.
“I am grateful that Gucci is joining forces with me to bring attention to a country with millions of children in desperate need of our help,” Madonna said in a statement. “Raising Malawi has already done tremendous work in helping these children. But we have much more to do and this event will surely bring us closer to our goal.”
Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie adopted son David Banda from Malawi back in October 2006. Rumor is that she’s going to adopt a girl from Malawi as well.

I love Madonna.
Honestly, when I scroll down these pictures, I usually just skim and pass all the madonna/ older people pictures. Because its very plain Jane. But since Madonna’s up to a good deed, I give her two thumbs up. Although, I would like to see younger people my age helping out for once. (Like Zac efron.)

Good Lord, when will these White People stop stealing children from Africa? Instead of admitting the crimes against Africa and its peoples over the last 400 years, she just uses these so-called orphans (David is NOT an orphan, his father is alive and well) to get publicity and try to redeem herself from her rightful place in Hell.
If Africa continues to give up their young to those who used to own them, there will be no future for the Motherland.

So sad leanne, you don’ know world history, but that’s okay…most Americans, like yourself, couldn’t find your own state on a map. For your edification:
The Arabs didn’t start the slave trade…there was always a slave trade, in both ancient and modern worlds. Even the Europeans enslaved themselves…just ask the Irish. They were called “serfs” and during feudal Europe there were enslavement and indentured servitude. I know Europeans like to throw up the idea that Africans sold themselves, but that’s not what happened. Tribes would sell their conquered enemies. Since they were all Africans, it looked like Blacks sold Blacks. When the stories of the treatment of slaves got back to the African people, they would kill the slavetraders and European traders. So by the 1830s, the active enslavement of Africans had viritually stopped because it was too dangerous. There’s your history lesson for the day.
Enough of these so-called bleeding heart hypocrits. Madonna was, is and will always be- a *****. A rich ***** is still a *****.
