Hairspray! The Beat Goes On
Entertainment Weekly takes a sneak peek at the Hairspray DVD (release date November 20, 2007) and shares a video of the song, “I Can Wait.”
This wistful sweet ballad was composed especially for the film as a solo for heroine Tracy Turnblad (played by Nikki Blonsky), and was actually shot for the film, but was eventually deleted before the final release.
The scene shows Tracy singing the ballad while locked up in Prudy Pingleton’s bomb shelter basement, interspersed with montages of events that took place earlier in the movie.

JJ, Any chance you can give us some info on Harold or Queen Sized? I know a lot of us would really love to know about her upcoming movies. :)

Nikki has been so busy working. She has a feature film wrapped, and a Lifetime movie in production. I would love to hear more about these projects, I agree Nonna.
I just love her confidence and charisma. She is also a kind and caring person who gives her time to charity.

It doesn’t matter her size, she is too talented to fade away. Not only thst but she is a beautiful girl and it’s nice to see someone in Hollywood that isn’t considered ‘conventional’ or a type you would normally see. News flash not all women are a size 0 and that is okay.
Nikki is already proving she’s not going anywhere, I mean she had been getting awards, just wrapped Harold and is now filming that movie Queen Sized. She truly is a rising star and one of the ‘ones to watch’ ;)
Keep in mind Jared, celebs always remember the people who supported them before they became ‘hugely famous’ so it’s nice to see you *finally* reporting on her alone.
yeah and people who talk about her size. look at Queen Latifah. she has many roles and she’s big and so will Nikki.
I mean come on. she shares an agent with John Travolta. :)
Honestly people if you don’t like Nikki why comment. JJ puts enough post about Vanessa so if you prefer her go over to her many post and make your comments. I am happy to see JJ post something on Nikki. I think Nikki will go far because she is a talented person. If you agree great if you don’t that is fine as well because I am not trying to convince anybody one way or the other.

People actually think Zac wants to be with her or will just one day open his eyes and be like ohh yes, we’re meant for eachother? Alright then…, the movie was good so hope the dvd has a lot of extras. Also Nikki Blonsky does not define perfection nor is she a true talent across the board.

Nikki has talent and winning awards (NO not awards like the stupid Teen choice awards and all that naff; REAL awards i.e. Young Hollywood award along with Zac who also won it and Best rising Star award THIS YEAR for her role in hairspray) which proves she has got a future.
So all these vanessa fans need to bow out of this thread if you don’t like Nikki.

Hey, all i’m saying is that in “hoollywood” girls who are skinny get more roles, it’s that simple. For example, Transformers… Nikki could never apply for the role, co-star Shia Lebouf. I’m sorry but she can’t be the “love intrest” or w/e. A story about a struggling teen with her weight… yeah sure but the actress the guy has a crush on… i don’t think so.

And we know that it’s hard for plus sized girls to get the “love intrest roles” BUT there are plenty of roles out there for normal people! And whose to say a guy like that wouldn’t have a crush on Nikki hmmmm?
She has such a pretty voice and she’s a great actress. Unfortunately, Hollywood is a cruel, cruel place, and considering her weight, she probably won’t get anything more than supporting roles. It’s not fair, but that’s just how it works.
I’m not a big fan of Nikki Blonsky, but it has nothing to do with Vanessa, like most people think it does. I just don’t like her very much, she kind of rubs me the wrong way in her interviews.
Anyway, even though I’m not a fan of hers, I still think she’s talented. It’s just too bad that she’ll constantly be discriminated against because of her weight.

Even all the veteran actors of HS were amazed by Nikki’s talent and grace. I think that speaks volumes.
So the only important role a woman could have in a film is to be the love interest? Wow I sure love your logic.
Maybe she couldnt get those roles, but she will get far better ones. That actually prove her talent as more than the “love interest”. She is leading lady material. She is above being the eye candy, even though she is a stunning woman. Her curves are sexy and more and more in Hollywood that is considered a beautiful thing.
Nikki will be around for a long while. She will get amazing roles. Stay tuned.
