Hairspray! The Beat Goes On
Entertainment Weekly takes a sneak peek at the Hairspray DVD (release date November 20, 2007) and shares a video of the song, “I Can Wait.”
This wistful sweet ballad was composed especially for the film as a solo for heroine Tracy Turnblad (played by Nikki Blonsky), and was actually shot for the film, but was eventually deleted before the final release.
The scene shows Tracy singing the ballad while locked up in Prudy Pingleton’s bomb shelter basement, interspersed with montages of events that took place earlier in the movie.

Tracy, Why are you bashing Vanessa if this is not even about her nor Zac?
Ugh: Look how popular this movie is? Look at all the musicals starting to come out? If something makes money that means Hollywood is interested. Because so far what has been produced hasn’t done much.
And Nikki will not take any part thrown at her which means that there will be better scripts and better movies made. Its called the Dominoes affect.

just want to tell you that even though only one movie of hers has been released.
she already filmed another one. and she’s currently filming a 3rd one right now.
I CANNOT wait until Hairspray comes out! I’ve seen the movie in theatres 8 times, and Im going to skip classes that day so I can buy it early and play it over and over and also buy it on itunes and put it on my ipod. Nikki Blonsky is amazing and I really do think that she will do other projects and such. So what if she’s not the skinniest person in the world? She’s amazing and has talent. Point blank.
Ashley 2, I’m not bashing Vanessa just speaking facts. Why are people bashing Nikki? you answer that one and I’ll answer yours.
I don’t know that Nikki can change hollywood. She’s good, but not that good. What she can do is help other girls and young women see the potential within themselves and strive to love themselves as they are and shoot for their dreams. She can also make movie execs and directors wake up and open their eyes to a greater world out there than the no-talent sticks that tend to make it. Nikki is a real role model. Because she lives her life with quality, and doesn’t need to pretend to be anyone or anything she isn’t.
She’s a lady, and we need more of those in Hollywood. No matter what her size is.

You know Nonna I think Zac was one of those guys who said he wasn’t into super skinny hollywood girls in one of his interviews. Would love to see these two BFF hook up again on broadway or even in another movie.
Read where he was so taken in by her talent he watched her filming scenes even when it wasn’t his day to be on set. He found her amazing. Good for Zac!

Do you know what the upcoming film is about… well let me tell you. She’s playing an outsider/loser in highschool and then the hot jock falls head over heels for her and then they live happily ever after. Well the begining is actually true but the falling in love with the jock part is just my prediction
Jennifer I agree with what you are saying. Hollywood needs Women that act like Women and will not downgrade themselves for theh almighty dollar. Young girls need to see more woman out there that have talent and confidence in their abilities. It doesn’t matter what size you are that should not stop you from following your dreams!
Nikki and Vanessa are friends. There is no need for anyone on either side of the fan bases to bash the other.
They are both beautiful and talented in their own way so stop nit picking.

yeah I know what her upcoming projects are about. so what they’re not romantic lead parts. but at least they look good and will be done well. I’m just happy to see her have any parts at all. I think she’s great and an awesome singer. to each his/her own. no need to be hatin’ her.

I think if anyone is saying anything bad about Vanessa, it’s because of the Nikki bashing that has gone on in here. Like I said, if you don’t like Nikki then don’t post here and if you continue too…and continue to bash her or say bad things about her that is when we stop biting our tongues about V. Because I haven’t bashed Vanessa at all in here and I don’t go into post about her just to trash her. It’s immature and wrong.
btw - Since this post is technically about Hairspray and the DVD, I wouldn’t say that talking about Zac is OT.
And, not a basher, Zac and Nikki have lots of fun and great chemistry, even when not on the red carpet.
Rosie you are correct! Zac said he thought he was gonna teach Nikki but Nikki taught him.
