Angelina’s Sunday Son Bonding
Angelina Jolie reportedly takes 6-year-old son Maddox shopping at the Edwards-Lowell Fur Boutique in Beverly Hills Sunday afternoon.
Momgelina carried a shopping bag full of goodies with something hot pink popping out of it. Doesn’t look like fur to me!
Angie’s animated feature Beowulf slayed the competition this past weekend, pulling in $28.1 million in the U.S. and Canada. IMAX 3-D accounted for 40% of the grosses.
Other box office totals: 2. Bee Movie, $14.3 million, 3. American Gangster, $13.2 million, 4. Fred Claus, $12 million, 5. Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, $10 million.

It’s not “her” movie. If it had been “her” movie, it might not have done so well. Many of “her” movies tend to flop. There are other actors; Anthony Hopkins, Robin Wright Penn, etc in Beowulf…Do remember them? They are the ones that most of the viewing audience are probably buying tickets to go see. These characters and others are the ones that most of the movie revolves around. Try looking at the big picture for once.

Where is Sam when the whole world is now announced to that Beowulf slayed the competition this past weekend?! Tom Cruise’s movie does not even appear in the list! And the second place, “Bee” only made half of what Beowulf earned. :-D :-D :D
Thanks JJ for the new thread. My family and I saw Beowulf in 3D at the IMAX in Irvine Spectrum and it was awesome. Angie’s appearance was so enchanting. She did not look like she was three months pregnant and her voice was so mysterious. What a wonderful movie. My two teenage boys want to see it again. Regards to all JP fans and remember ignore the NAGATIVES.

Is Zahara’s mother really alive? I saw the Yahoo News article they had, if it is true then Angelina must be shocked because her own mother (Zahara’s grandmother) thought she was dead! But the alleged mother said she was happy for Zahara. Still if I were Angelina I would be upset because here is this motherless child who she chose to be her own daughter and who she loves and she thinks she is her ownly mother and then this woman come out and says “Oh,I live”. It won’t make a difference to Zahara because Angelina IS her mom but the situation still sucks. If it is true anyway. CNN had the story too but I’m still not sure it is true.

Joe Prischak thirsts to relieve drought-stricken East Africa.
Memories of four trips to Africa to see children dying and hospitals where every other patient suffered a water-borne illness moved the 77-year-old Erie businessman to tears.
Prischak is now devoting his remaining years to filling the buckets and bellies of that continent’s residents with clean drinking water. But to do it, he first filled the Bayfront Convention Center on Saturday night.
“I went to all of my friends for help, and all of my friends are here,” Prischak said, motioning to the 500 to 600 people in business and formal attire in the convention center’s main concourse.
Prischak’s immediate goal is to raise $200,000 to start drilling as many as 15 water wells in the next year. He said $40,000 of that goal would likely be raised at the $100-a-plate soiree Saturday night.

“Two-hundred feet below their feet, there’s plenty of water, but they don’t have the money to go down there,” Prischak said of East Africans. “These wells will save 50,000 to 75,000 lives in the next two years.”
Prischak said he ultimately wants to make Africa flush with water wells, drip-irrigation systems, home-grown bottling plants and relative prosperity — one village at a time.
To aid his plans, Prischak has teamed with WorldServe International and the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, two not-for-profit entities that focus aid relief efforts in Africa. Doug Pitt, executive director of the foundation, and a brother of actor Brad Pitt, was on hand to speak about the Africa he has seen through his camera lenses.
“This is a hobby that’s grown out of control. A lot of people can see the people there and what is going on. This is a wonderful way to tell the story,” Doug Pitt said.
Pitt displayed his photographs in the middle of the concourse and made them available for sale throughout the evening. He spoke about Africa knowledgeably and said he’s grateful Erie-area residents turned out in such numbers to support the project that Prischak calls Africa 6000.
Erie Powerdrives, a company that does business with Prischak’s companies, bought out an entire table at the event. Joe Felice, a Powerdrives employee, said his company’s interest in the project has everything to do with global citizenship and good business.
“You can’t trust government to this, so individuals have got to do it,” Felice said. “We are in a global environment. We operate globally and we want to make a difference. We’ll be an example for others.”
