The reviews for Rendition were mostly negative or mixed in the USA. In the UK and Canada the movie got mostly positive reviews and Jake’s performance was mostly praised. A big Italian newspaper “il Corriere della Sera” said that the performances in Rendition make the movie worth seeing and they praised Jake’s performance. There are other reviewers out there not just American.

The third is a film that he has not seen the script for because it hasn’t been written yet; when it is written it will be by a woman who has never written a script before, and is only able to get support to do this because of who her father is. If he has not read the script yet, why does he want to do it; because he is a true actor or because he is just a cheap celebrity? Also the plot sounds ridiculous.

This relationship with Reese Witherspoon, real or not has put him in a bad light and contradicts the things that he has said in the past. He will never recover from it, I promise you! If he can’t even live by his own rules….. Reese Witherspoon is nothing. She is a bad actress and a bad mother. Her husbands’ side of the bed wasn’t even cold before she wheeled Jake in there to play happy families. She was a ‘has been’ before she hooked her name to his. His star was shining the brightest. Maybe she could command more money, but that just comes from being nice to the right people as we know. She doesn’t even have beauty on her side. Yet with her smoke and mirrors she tries to act like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth when she got married only because she was already pregnant with her first child. They want us to feel inferior to them when they are frauds (Do as I say not as I do). It has always been that way in Hollywood. I wouldn’t break wind over her or her movies. I don’t watch them and I never have. Before she hooked up with him, if you asked me to name an actress her name would not come into my mouth, really. I would name actresses from the 40s, never her.

He is now a member of the school of smoke and mirrors. His goal is to manipulate people so that he can get rich off them. This is the same school of thought that brought in the injecting of livestock in order to make them fatter so that they can get more meat off them and battery hen farming. It is the school of thought that has brought us mad cow disease and bird flu. This is the school of thought that creates goods that are only made to last a short period of time, in order to ensure that we the consumer are back in their filthy shops in a few months buying things that we can ill afford. I thought that he was one of us, but he is one of them. He has the mark of the beast on his forehead.

There is a war going on in this world and it is the war between good and evil. Jake had gone over to the dark side.

I thought that his family was decent. People from the 60s who wanted to make a difference, but in reality the 60s was a con. They sold us out and now it is just AT&T, Time Warner and AOL. Those who would not play ball ended up dead.

As I sit here with my pockets empty because I will not play their game (I will not have sex to keep my job, I will not help to destroy others, I will not manipulate), it has brought tears to my eyes to see a man that I respected go this way. He does not come from a poor background; he doesn’t have to play the game in order to have a roof over his head. In fact he could never work again and still live a life of luxury. It is insulting to someone like me who is suffering so much!

The people who are advising him in the school of smoke and mirrors do not care about him or his career. They care only about lining their own pockets. When they have squeezed as much cash out of his name and image as they can, they will toss him away like a soiled tissue and move on to the next person and then he can shed tears instead.

Oh come on, be sensible. He was great in October Sky, marvelous. And also in The Good Girl. He was not as good as Ledger in Brokeback but still very very good. You are silly and addle-brained to say that he hasn’t been good in anything. NONSENSE.

It´s unbelievable like a person, who must not nominated, spend her precious time talking very very bad about a talented and gorgeous actor! In my opinion, basically, there is only one explanation… not correspondent crush!

Look at the difference between Hollywood in the past and this industy at present. The film of Cate Blanchett!!! I like this actress very much and historic films too but I can’t watch this character more. Betty Davis did this character “Elizabeth” very well. In the past the writers of film haven’t fear to ask the teachers of history…The film “Land of Pharaohs” (Joan Collins and Howard Hawkins) por example. The writers ask the archeologists about this unknow period of history of Egypt. The most part of this film would be maked in studios! And look at the films today. The actors and actresses use the studios to have sex adventuries like Jake Gyllenhaal, Angelina Jolie etc. And worse the audience must pay for their sexual parties
not their films because they are a garbage! The profissional actors and actresses must make old characters and old themes like leathers of mafia, assaults, robbers carees…violents films! And later they must work in films whose mix pornography with normal films because the Hollywood industry would like win the competition against pornographic industy whose has lot of profit.
Hollywood must update! All this industry!

There was French Revolution and Sacro Roman Empire in world history to show what was happening in the past with children following their parents their parents with guaranteed place…and don’t take part selection. You can see their failure films!!! The advertisements and the paparazzis help them all time long!!! Look at the level of films at present and the level of films in the past!!! The son and daughter of this directors or actors don’t have a normal life and their families don’t have structure nor principle nor instruction. There are one of them whose are engineer or work in a hospital as good doctor (there are good doctor and bad doctors)? There are one of them whose study chemistry etc? Perhaps Natalie Portman but she isn’t american and his parents don’t are actors or actresses! This year I wouldn’t like to see the Golden Globe or Oscar. I don’t have wish to see the meeting between neighbors( or fight between them) and the promiscuous behavior of actors and actresses whose are lovers of Hollywood leathers . Those prize don’t have value for me. From now on I decide what kind of film I would watch and actor or actress I think that is a profissional. I don’t need help more of press and their preferences. Ok!!!
Now the daughter of Madonna will be acting in Hollywood too!!!!

I agree with 78. I know a lot of people that follow in their parents footsteps. They are dentist, lawyers, doctors, etc. Why the same thing can happen with actor and singers ?

Sometimes, son or daughter does better than their parents, for example, Robert Downey Jr., Jamie Lee Curtis…

Why Madonna´s daughter can be singer or actress? Look at Lisa Minelli and Judy Garland, both were great singers and actress. Maybe Lourdes Maria will be better actress than her mother (it ´s easy that happen).

It´s more easy to them but nobody has guilty for having born in the midle.

OMG, this movie is the major symbol of current Hollywood which you said hating.
About to copy movies of other countries, in my opinion, maybe it´s a way to try reinvent olds things.
I think the most important in a movie is a good story very well told.
I adore cinema and I spend time and money (not too much) therefore. Sometimes I liked the movie I watched, sometimes no! But I´ve still have a fun to do it!

It is the problem when the people don’t have background. Noboby believe in their arguments and their premises are failure. The real name in classic literature of 300 is The 300 of Sparta. Lot of people read old classic literatur. It is like classical music. Classical music is better then modern one!. You can see in 300 several things that there isn’t more. You can see that the man in the past weren’t this cowards like the present man. The great Empire of earth were builded with this kind of man…etc!!!
