aka fan: Well what is so strange about children following their parents in the movie business? Many, perhaps most, children everywhere follow in their parents’ footsteps in their careers. It simply makes sense for them to go into the business they know because of their parents. And, if they are ugly or without talent, they soon discover they are not intended for an acting career.
There was French Revolution and Sacro Roman Empire in world history to show what was happening in the past with children following their parents their parents with guaranteed place…and don’t take part selection. You can see their failure films!!! The advertisements and the paparazzis help them all time long!!! Look at the level of films at present and the level of films in the past!!! The son and daughter of this directors or actors don’t have a normal life and their families don’t have structure nor principle nor instruction. There are one of them whose are engineer or work in a hospital as good doctor (there are good doctor and bad doctors)? There are one of them whose study chemistry etc? Perhaps Natalie Portman but she isn’t american and his parents don’t are actors or actresses! This year I wouldn’t like to see the Golden Globe or Oscar. I don’t have wish to see the meeting between neighbors( or fight between them) and the promiscuous behavior of actors and actresses whose are lovers of Hollywood leathers . Those prize don’t have value for me. From now on I decide what kind of film I would watch and actor or actress I think that is a profissional. I don’t need help more of press and their preferences. Ok!!!
Now the daughter of Madonna will be acting in Hollywood too!!!!

I agree with 78. I know a lot of people that follow in their parents footsteps. They are dentist, lawyers, doctors, etc. Why the same thing can happen with actor and singers ?
Sometimes, son or daughter does better than their parents, for example, Robert Downey Jr., Jamie Lee Curtis…
Why Madonna´s daughter can be singer or actress? Look at Lisa Minelli and Judy Garland, both were great singers and actress. Maybe Lourdes Maria will be better actress than her mother (it ´s easy that happen).
It´s more easy to them but nobody has guilty for having born in the midle.

You don’t know the old Hollywood! In the past the most part of actors and actresses can’t single and very good dance. Most of them were Tre very beautiful mainly the woman. the most important they were a product of selection. Their films had success! iN STUDIO THEY WERE !==5 PROFISSIONALS
What did you say, it isn’t the reality. The reality is that the Hollywood has problems with money last time. You films are a garbage. They must to copy films of Europe, India and Asia to show something with decency for the audience…The last film whose I must wait in the line here in Europe was This films of Pinguins that 2 frenchs filmed in Antartic. Nowadays the cinemas are empty. If you would like to clean the feet of this people you can do and you can spend your money in this ativities or lose you time! I don’t and lot of my friends too!!!

OMG, this movie is the major symbol of current Hollywood which you said hating.
About to copy movies of other countries, in my opinion, maybe it´s a way to try reinvent olds things.
I think the most important in a movie is a good story very well told.
I adore cinema and I spend time and money (not too much) therefore. Sometimes I liked the movie I watched, sometimes no! But I´ve still have a fun to do it!

English is a language that I don’t like to practice. If you irritates you with my bad English…you will be crazy when I express myself better in a languages whose I dominate!
It is the problem when the people don’t have background. Noboby believe in their arguments and their premises are failure. The real name in classic literature of 300 is The 300 of Sparta. Lot of people read old classic literatur. It is like classical music. Classical music is better then modern one!. You can see in 300 several things that there isn’t more. You can see that the man in the past weren’t this cowards like the present man. The great Empire of earth were builded with this kind of man…etc!!!
The film 300 show that Hollywood hasn’t only as audience of stupid people. There are around the world lot of people with instruction.
And all this sexual parasites and nepothists actors and actresses whose are invading Hollywood at present…are making a mess the way of real artist of this film industry. Especially the actresses whose have won this prize without prestige. The audience isn’t blind or deaf.
The last best classic of Hollywood, in my opinion, was GLADIATOR, movie which I can compare to Spartacus, Ben Hur…

Gladiator was a copy of a film that Sofia Loren, Alax Guinness, and Christopher Plummer called The fall of the Roman Empire. This film don’t say the true about the Commodus. Commodus and the roman Emperor Marcus Aulerlius governed together. Commodus need lot of money of tax to build the Limes (the militar lineal defense in Germania) that problably attracted lot of dislike against him. His sister planed assassinate him but he discovered her plan and sent her in a island. After that he sentensed her to death. 2 slaves killed him later.
The people whose work in Hollywood don’t have lot of instraction and there is another group whose has interest to defamer this civilization because this civilization destroyed their nation almost 2,000 years. But if we live in Europe and visit north Africa/Asia and visit the archeologic places, we can imagine how this civilization was big.
The film 300 say the history well. They exagerated a lot but didn’t modify what has been wroten. It was because the polititians in Iran don’t saw this film as provoking! We can’t forget that Persian civilization let inheritance like the philosophy of Zaratrusta etc…
But it is time… Hollywood must replace all these ignorants and parasites and see another period of history,another books, another places, another actors and actresses too. If they wouldn’t kill or finish this industry !!!

Some countries of Asia (and Africa too, If I ´m not wrong) didn´t admit showing 300. In this movie, I agree with you, they exagerated a lot. For example, Rodrigo Santoro, a good actor, was ridiculous! Ok, basicaly it´s a fiction, like another movies, everything is possible in the name of artistic liberty but it´s not my cup of tea.
P.S. dimitra, I didn´t see Cate´s movie yet! But I am feeling that she will be nominated to Oscar again The Academy loves her and she is really good!
Jared is way behind the news. Item says Jake proposed to Reese and she turned him down. Now what about that? She wants a toyboy and butler, not a hubbie. She had a hubbie and see what happened to that. No more hubbie; butler better. You can fire your butler. LOL.
Why did Jakeypoop propose? One thought is that his career is not doing too hot and she’s got lots of money. If your movies don’t earn much a rich wife can be a big big big comfort. From her point of view, she already has two kids. She doesn’t need any more, even if he could produce them.
This year unfortunatly all the film Hollywood has been made are garbage. Perhaps next year they decide to do something better. I don’t like to see any of the films of the people that this magazine are showing.
Jake Gyllenhaal don’t have caracter, is a fake person and a bad example. He dindn’t grow up and he plays like a child when he is in studio.
Reese Witherspoon is corrupt. She won this Oscar through her Hollywood lovers that she had at this time! She won this prize without prestige and when the audience see her in a advertisement of a film the people ran away when they see her.
Javier, Robert Doney jr, Emile Hirsch we can eliminate. They aren’t important. There are only Cate Blancett and Denzel Washinton. But I repeat Hollywood must update…the themas of the film of then is very old!!!
