ITA. Oprah is a very famous, smart businesswoman, she problably let her staff called and negotiated with those companies, it’s a marketing and good advertisement for these. and we all know, Oprah’s main audience are middle class caucasian women.
Well, if I´m from another planet and come to Oprah´s at the moment when people do that ridiculous reactions I would smash this planet. Am I only one who watch this video and absolutely don´t get it? Those women (I didn´t see any man) are hysteric and crazy and stupid. They scream for Christmas boxes and some of them cry. I´m confused. I can´t even believe that I´m the same species as those people! What is the point? Can anyone tell me? Are they really crazy because they get expensive things for free in the one of the richest countries in the world in the time when at the other side of the planet people dying for hunger and because of war???
HAHAHAHAHA I was hoping someone would post a video of the audience’s reaction. My mom and I were laughing our asses off when we watched it today…..sooooooo funny!! I love it when that one lady mouths “IT’S MY FAVORITE THINGS!!!!” lolol…..too funny!
I don’t understand why she chose Pillars of the Earth. That is such an old book. Would have been better for Thomas Covenant, at least there’s a new book out in the series this year.
Because that one is her favorite.
1. I read somewhere that she did not want to keep doing her Fav Things show because she felt it was wrong/did not convey a good message/was pointless (something like that). I guess she changed her mind when companies started showing her the $$$$$$
2. I hope everyone in the audience was somehow in need/poor-ish/underpriveleged to justify giving away so many things. Kind of like how everyone who got a car really NEEDED a car.
3. Life goal: Attend one of those shows!!

Oprah has been famous for almost 30 years! She is a great woman! Maybe we should leave her alone! But a question about her: Is she single now? I saw her profile on millionaire dating site Wealthy Romance. com last week! Just curious!
This woman works on hype.
Look at her audiance! Older white women that already “have things”.
She said ages ago that she would work just for 5 more years.

I like Oprah & Sheila Johnson, the was the first african american billionaire (not Oprah). You may not see too many African American women aroud them or in the audience but trust me, the core african american women who count have been their base from go and are still there.

This makes me sick. Oprah is an idiot for enabling the American addiction to material goods. She has totally lost my respect. Building an African school or not, her stock has gone way done. I agree with Nona, glutonous friggin’ pigs who just want, want, want selfishly with no regard to anyone else on the planet.
Oh great, Oprah promotes a bunch of things that the average American can’t afford, especially now with the housing market collapsing and fuel prices about to go through the roof. The US Dollar is in bad shape and the economy is about to fall and Oprah is giving out free, over-priced stuff to a chosen few, making the rest jealous and resentful.
The only people happy are the credit card companies. All the Oprah-Stepford Wives will rush out and go into more debt to purchase those expensive items. The American debt ratio will grow and grow and grow…
OMFG!! How excitable are they!! Can you imagine what they’d be like if they were in the audience a few years back when she gave everyone a car!
Well now, i will have to fight to buy my favorite blood orange sorbet at whole foods…

Oprah’s arm fat was distracting me for most of the show.
I would love to taste those cupcakes too Jaredm but a box of 9 for $60!!!!!! That’s crazy.
I think the companies give the products to the show for free — great advertising op.

Oprah is a ridiculous caricature of American Society. She represents the mindless sheep like minivan majority which are destroying the planet with unsustainable consumption.
I saw this and it was fun to watch I remeber sitting on the coauch and I said what is she going to do give away frigeraters and she did that was so cool.
