OlderAngelina’s Adopted Daughter Conceived During Rape?
The Ethiopian baby adopted by Angelina Jolie was conceived after her mother was raped, reports Reuters.
Mentwabe Dawit, mother of two-year-old Zahara, claims she was 24-years-old when she attacked one evening in 2004 after a day’s work at a construction site in the southern Ethiopian town of Awasa.
“[A man approached me in the darkness.] He pulled a dagger, put one hand on my mouth, so that I could not scream. He then raped me and disappeared,” Mentwabe said with tears streaming down her face. “[I kept the assault a secret because] I feared the consequences of being raped in a community where rape is considered a taboo, even if what happened happened forcibly.”
Mentwabe gave birth in the family’s earth-floored house and she named the little girl Yemsrach which means good news in the Amharic language.
“I was unable to feed Yemsrach,” Mentwabe said. “My baby was on the verge of death. She became malnourished and was even unable to cry. I was desperate and decided to run away, rather than see my child dying… “I have never disputed the adoption of my baby by Angelina Jolie. I think my daughter is a very fortunate human being to be adopted by a world famous lady. I wish them both all the success they deserve.”
There’s also a video report of Mentwabe talking about how fortunate Zahara is to have been adopted by Angelina.

This is overtly racist. Since when are rape victims stories graphically detailed in the press with name and address? She’s African so let it all hang out eh? Why would this woman contact a news agency? why would an agency contact her or even better know who she is? Whis is this even an issue? Also this story is exploiting Zahara. As far as I’m concerned, all of this that has been created by a tabloid is a lie. If anyone cared about the children specifically Zahara, they would not even dare create all of this. Once again Angelina & really Brad have come across being better people than anyone here and in Ethiopia and everywhere else.

Thanks JJ. My gut says this story is true and Angelina/Brad/Grandmother/adoption agency were all honest in their collective belief that Zahara was orphaned by death due to AID’s. I also have no problem believing thdt the JP’s will assist their daughter’s birth mother in any way they can.

I never thought that i will agree with a TROLL, but i think that it’s time that Brad TAKE THE GLOVES OFF and publicly DEFEND Angelina!!

What are the odds are this story is true? The so called mother where have she been? I bet the rags paid her whole lot money to say this. Z was an orpahn who don’t have anybody to raise her. She was so sick she could have been dead if she wasn’t adopted by Angie.

Excuse me but this is more exploitation of a woman who may have been raped. What on earth does this have to do on a celebrity blog? How does she know it was her child that was given to Angelina & Brad? her child could be dead for all we know. Does the adoption agency notify the people who gave them up that the child has been adopted and by whom? I think not. This whole story is very unseemly and needs to end NOW.
