Brad Pitt Drops ‘State of Play’

Brad Pitt has dropped out of State of Play and Universal Pictures is currently trying to replace him, according to Variety.

If Brad’s character doesn’t recast and get the picture going by Nov. 29, it will begin losing the other actors in the film and Universal can bring a lawsuit against Brad for bailing.

Brad was set to star alongside Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman and Robin Wright Penn in the Matthew Michael Carnahan-scripted adaptation of the British miniseries. Brad was playing a politico-turned-journalist who spearheads a newspaper’s investigation of a murder, a trail that leads to the fast-rising pol whose campaigns were once masterminded by Brad’s character.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad has pulled out because of script concerns and the script cannot be worked on due to the writers strike.

Who could possibly fill the shoes of Brad Pitt??

GOD BLESS THE JOLIE-PITTS!

# 8

Ever since he did The Devil’s Own, which was a nightmare experience because they had a mess of a script and were re-writing it all through the movie, Brad will not start a shoot, if he has serious reservations about it. With the strike, the script has to be shot, as is. As Roo said, it was either hold up production, all together, or give the studio a chance to recast and shoot it in the window.

Good news, they can have time to make baby # 5.

Play Time’s Over for Pitt
Star’s pullout leaves State in jeopardy.

November 21, 2007 - Brad Pitt has dropped out of starring in Universal’s political thriller State of Play. The Kevin Macdonald-directed project, which is a remake of a British miniseries, would have re-teamed Pitt with his Fight Club co-star Edward Norton.

The studio said in a statement issued to Variety, “We remain committed to this project and to the filmmakers, cast members, crew and others who are also involved in making the movie. We reserve all rights in this matter.”

Variety says Pitt pulled out early Wednesday “following two weeks of struggle and meetings with director Kevin Macdonald that prevented the film from making its original Nov. 15 production start date.”

Unless the studio can recast Pitt’s role immediately and begin filming by Nov. 29, other cast members — including Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright Penn, and Jason Bateman — may start dropping out as well.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Sources said the studio is looking at Johnny Depp, whose own movie Shantaram just got postponed at Warner Bros., as well as Russell Crowe” as possible replacements. The trade adds that “the studio is mulling its legal options and might sue the actor.”

THR claims Pitt dropped out over script concerns, which can’t be addressed due to the ongoing Writers Guild strike. Matthew Michael Carnahan penned the script.

I am not very excited about his on-screen romance with Robin Penn really. I am not a fan of Robin. I think her role in Beowulf is really strange.

no they won`t sue him,It is not the first time actors drop one movie.BTW I think he wasn`t happy with script so he drops it.Thanks JJ for new thread,so much better than last one.

THANK YOU JARED, YOU’RE THE BEST! :)
Well, the family will have more time to spend together. They’re going to have a great holiday season, all together.

Although the casting was quite strong, I believe there was a lot of pressure on the film to be as good as the original BBC series, hence going through several (I think 4) stages of re-writes/writers.

Well, seems like something good came out of this. The Pitt’s will have the opportunity to have a nice long Christmas holiday and

well, the man does have a lot going on..I do love to watch him on the big screen..but he cant have every role..i wouldnt want him to anyway..

Just about anybody can replace him. He’s hot but can’t act.

Brad ages like a fine wine.he is more handsome right now,I really don`t like her boyish face.BTW I don`t follow him so won`t comment about the titel but many actors drop movies due to script. It is not a big deal.

I’m sure there was a good reason why he pulled. To be honest this movie did not appeal to me so I am glad he pulled out.

Stop the obsession with Angie’s womb!

Did it ever cross either of your minds that maybe Brad isn’t happy with the script? And with the strike going on there has been no improvement on the current screen — so he chose to pull out of the film. It’s not the first time Brad walk away from a bad script. btw everyone that cared to know, knew Brad wasn’t happy with the script!

And, I bet you Universal won’t sue, either!

Brad has alot more options than many other actors, plus he has that fighting movie with Mark Wahlberg coming up. He doesn’t have to beg anybody for a role. He can pretty much be as choosy as he wants to be.

Angie and the kiddies will be more than happy to have Big Daddy at home through the holidays.

Universal won’t sue him, they’ll just cast him another movie. That’s the way the game is played, and Brad knows what he is doing after all these years in Hollywood.

I’m sure he is looking forward to having at least several months of family time.

when is he going to start shooting “Fighters”?

Just shows Mr Pitt has power. He’s not afraid to walk away from a studio movie.

BTW I doubt J Depp would do a movie if there are script problems.

Brad LINDO!!!!

23 sharon

The Fighter is not suppose to start filming until the fall of 2008. So he will either pick up another movie or will have a long break with Angelina and the kids.

Why are you this much angry?I didn`t say anything wrong,I can talk for a fun, have alittle sense of humor and fun.you are in celebrity blog not political one.it is so sad you jumped on me because I said my opinion for fun.and I can read that he wasn`t happy with script.I don`t really know what should I say to you.because there was nothing wrong with my comment but it becomes part of your habit to jump on each one of people who says their opinion.save your energy for haters not fans.peace :)

Amen! The pregnancy stories are so taxing and weren’t we giving them a bit of a rest? Why throw them into the discussion again?

If he doesn’t like the script, it is good to drops out. Remember movie “Fountain”, he didn’t like the script and dropped out. glad he dropped out that movie. That movie was terrible.

I think probably he will work on another movie and will pick up another movie, but maybe not and he will decide to spend all his time with his family.

Orange Clockwork @ 11/21/2007 at 5:15 pm

Umm, anyone can replace Pitt. He’s a terrible actor.

didn’t he go to washington d.c just to research his part for the film? bummer

Johnny Depp would be a good replacement but darn it! It’ll be so much better with Brad. The British miniseries was a great movie.

think positive! @ 11/21/2007 at 5:17 pm

New thread!! Thanks Jared. It’s too bad Brad dropped cause I really liked him to be in this movie but things like that happens all the time in the industry. Many actors and actresses have done the same before. It was impossible for the script to be re-checked due the writer’s strike. I really don’t think they will find a replacement that soon so most likely the movie will not be made after all.

Brad has been in HW for 20 years and he is one of the most shout out actors. He has the right to make his choices. It’s not a big deal really. Brad has BAR and TCCOBB next year!! He won’t be missed!!

On the other hand that means that the JP will have a long break to enjoy their fam!! Good for them!!

I don`t think he will stay home all his time,he knows that means more fight with A.J.so for sure he will look for another movie to stay away from her.

26 question : 11/21/2007 at 5:12 pm

================================================

Not angry. Just sick of the same old, same old. As I have stated before I will be the first online to offer my congrads when Angie and Brad tells us a new little Jolie-Pitt is on the way.

What I do get tire of is some of you acting like Angie only worth is what takes place in her womb.

Brad had a pay or play deal. Thus UP just put out that they might sue so they don’t have to pay Brad. There will be no suit.

Terrible actors don’t have script approval. Ask …well never mind.

I’m just happy that if Brad doesn’t pick up another movie, Brad, Angie and their too-cute-for-words kids will be able to spend down time together and stay away from the crazy rags trying to attack them. I can’t wait for the Golden Globes nominations, and the next time we see Brad and Angie should be on the red carpet in January. Maybe we’ll catch a glimpse of them before then. :-)

the whole truth @ 11/21/2007 at 5:38 pm

There have been a number of writers working on the SOP script. The last had to stop due to the writer’s strike and he was working up to the last minute to get a rewrite done, so who knows what cra* was written. Brad had script approval and it’s better to bail on a bad script, especially if they have been meeting about this for 2 weeks and could not work things out. Another blog said they were going after Russell Crowe or JDepp, and Depp won’t do it if the script is bad. Crowe might.

Brad already has two movies coming out next year, Plan B has several projects, plus he and Angie have their HBO project. The writer’s stike has thrown all into a loop as far as projects getting done.

Brad had a pay or play contract and script approval, Universal won’t sue, they will find another film for him to do. AOJJ was done at Warner’s because he owed them a film.

Jared—I’ll post again and thanks for the new thread! But, if you stoop that low again like the last thread, forget it.

Hello BAMPZS Fans! Happy Thanks Giving to you lovely ladies and gents :-)

Brad and Ed are doing a HBO project together on Lewis and Clark.

Plus Ed is still working on the Hulk. Ed Norton is a perfectionist. He rewrote some of the script for the Hulk. If he has the ability to get out of SOP he will. But I don’t know if he as script approval like Brad.

Well since some saw Angie’s Freedom Award as an obscure award and all, they definitely won’t have a problem reducing Angie to a working womb.

I have no problem with ‘Pitt P*rn’ but excuse me for getting tired of reading post after post about they going ons of a women womb.

Matthew Michael Carnahan was blogging just before the strike that there was so much pressure going on to get re-writes done on a number of films including White Noise which Clooney dropped out of. It just sounds like the script wasn’t up to par. With the strike going on and an actors strike looming the studio wants it done this year.

All three are world wide megastars. All three are at the top of the foodchain in Htown. Depp’s 44, Brad’s 43, Will’s 39. They are the creme de la creme. Clooney’s 46, also is up there with them. They are the go to stars for movies. Tom Cruise’s 45, not so much as the others these days, and that sorta describes Russell Crowe(43).

My question is who other than MattD (37) and maybe CBale (33) is coming up to take their places? Eric Bana (39)?

Brad Pitt Exits Film over Script Woes

As I first reported on November 16th, Universal’s State Of Play starring Brad Pitt was having strike-related problems because “the star isn’t happy with the state of the script”. Boy, was he ever. Universal Pictures just issued this statement: “Brad Pitt has left the Universal Pictures production of ‘State of Play.’ We remain committed to this project and to the filmmakers, cast members, crew and others who are also involved in making the movie. We reserve all rights in this matter.”

Off for home. Bbl

Hey Guli and Ameena. ;)

lol universal tried to bully brad into doing this movie. the problem was brad just got finished dealing with warners ******** him on aojj. i’m sure he was in no mood to take any sh*t from another production company

Now there’s talk of Tom Hanks replacing Brad, because Angels and Demons has been put on hold.

thatgirlxo @ 11/21/2007 at 6:38 pm

i don’t think this was very wise of him. there are so many other really good actors and actresses signed up for this film as well. if the problem was really that big of a deal then they wouldn’t have signed up. i like brad. i just don’t think/don’t understand his decision.

I’m just relaxing before I have to go to work. I will get paid time and half tonight. I’m glad I don’t work Thanksgiving night.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

writer Carnahan did the Kingdom and Lions for Lambs.

+++++++++++++

Two movies not very well received by critics or fans this year. No wonder Brad had scripting concerns. Although, to be fair, the movie went through a major rewrite by someone else not too long ago. I’m trying to remember who it was. It was mentioned in an article early last week that said SOP was in jeopardy because the re-write hadn’t been finished yet. Carnahan was most recently working on a script of a James Ellroy novel that Porgie was going to do, but after Michael Clayton bombed at the BO he dropped out because he didn’t want to do back-to-back period movies. I’m sure he knows Leatherheads won’t even do half the biz that Michael Clayton did, so he’s prolly back trying to convince Brad to do Oceans 87.

The Dirt on Brad Pitt? It’s Toxic! Actor’s ‘Green’ NOLA Housing Project Emits Weird Glow

by Spencer Morgan Published: November 20, 2007

This article was published in the November 26, 2007, edition of The New York Observer.
Transom-BradPitt1V.jpg

The actor Brad Pitt’s ambitious efforts to build a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly, sustainable housing facility in New Orleans’ ravaged Ninth Ward in record time recently suffered a setback when developers discovered that construction is taking place on deeply polluted land.

“Much of the Lower Ninth Ward is also toxic, so it’s really not a surprise,” said a source with intimate knowledge of the project, which Mr. Pitt is helping to fund along with Global Green USA, the American branch of an international environmental organization founded by former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.

The source elaborated that the three-acre “test” area where Mr. Pitt’s energy-efficient housing units are being built (out of primarily recycled materials!) is a former industrial site and contains several unexpected biohazardous “hot spots.”

Our spy blamed the eager do-gooders’ well-intentioned haste for the snafu, continuing: “You can’t knock Brad or Global Green for their enthusiasm. But what was and is a very ambitious program will have to proceed with caution. There will have to be some cleanup work done before any more buildings go up. It goes to show that no good deed goes unpunished.”

A spokeswoman for Global Green, Jeanne Nathan, acknowledged that “we do have some contamination. Now we’re in the process of remediation.” She said that buying land without testing for toxins first is “common practice” in the region, and insisted the project would be completed on schedule, in spring 2008.

Mr. Pitt’s publicist, Cindy Guagenti, did not return calls for comment. But the bad news has apparently only further motivated her client, a noted design buff who spent years building a Beverly Hills residence with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. “Brad has interviewed about a dozen more architects to expand his project,” the source reported, information confirmed by Ms. Nathan. “They are looking to develop 10 to 15 times that amount of ground with sustainable housing.”

=======================
I agree, It’s not like this is the first time a actor/actress, has bailed on a movie. I just have no idea why the media has to over sentualize every thing the JP’s do. If it where anyone else it would be,, Oh Well, Next. But when it it Brad and Angie, its all blown up, like this is the first time something like this has ever happened in the history of the world.

Example, Brad’s divorce, you would think he was the first person ever in life to get divorced.. The haters are really insane

so,santa will be home most of the tym.lucky mrs claus…tehehe

Brad probably shouldn’t have argued with the hot young director Kevin MacDonald! He’s British. He’s an Oscar Winner. He just came off of the Last King of Scotland and he’s a genious. If Brad had a case, Universal would have found a new director for Pitt. Looks like they chose an A+ cast and an A+ Director over a man with one of the lowest Q scores in all of Hollywood. With this cast and this Director, they’ll have no problem replacing Pitt.

Mighty Heart and Assasination of Jesse James tanked as well. Most people know Iraq and Afghinastan films dont fare well. Experts are already predicting Hank’s Charlie Wilson wont do well too. There were no anti war films done where there was war at Vietnam but Hollywood is so stupid to bring all this antiwar themes that Americans dont wonna see.

This is the real story direct from Global Green

New Orleans, November 21, 2007- Global Green USA’s Holy Cross Project, the most significant new construction in the Lower Ninth Ward since Katrina, is being developed on a formerly vacant site with some former light industrial use that left behind what is known as a brownfield. As such, we are addressing the soil contaminants we have found, mostly some isolated pockets of lead that, as we understand from the previous owner, resulted from sandblasting related to the adjacent wharf activities. As an environmental group we are taking most aggressive remediation process available, and hope others will do same.

A significant part of the vision of the project has always been to rebuild a green New Orleans, and part of that vision is turning formerly contaminated areas into vibrant, healthy, green communities. Global Green USA has a proactive, rigorous and cautious program of addressing contamination on the site, working closely with the state Department of Environmental Quality on testing to determine the extent of contamination, and to begin the cleanup of the site.

Soil contamination of construction sites in New Orleans is very common due to their history of industrial and shipping uses. The needed cleanup was anticipated, and is being done with transparency, public notification, and in compliance with regulations for safe occupation of the site. In fact, the site is being considered by the state of Louisiana for a precedent setting process of engaging the public in a review of the remediation program.

Global Green’s model affordable green housing project in Holy Cross, a section of the devastated Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, will see the first building, a single family house, completed by the end of the year. It will initially be used as a Visitor center to provide information on green building before the entire housing development is completed, on schedule, by the end of next year. The Holy Cross project provides important models for adopting healthy green building practices that will conserve energy and save money for its residents.
Global Green’s progressive cleanup remediation process will be a part of the site’s story of renewal. It will also prove that once vacant brownfields can become new, vibrant communities. Global Green is working to make that happen on its Holy Cross site. This model should in turn encourage many more such developments throughout the city where Katrina has created many other opportunities for renewal. The people who evacuated their

James McAvoy seems like a decent guy and is good looking too. He’ll make it big if he keeps getting good scripts and continues playing different roles. He’s my favorite of the three.

Ryan Gosling is a good actor but I don’t think his castmates like him much. Too egotistic and it’s early yet. He’ll probably be another Ed Norton (as far as acting is concerned).

So far, Brad, George, Johnny and Will have nothing to fear. No replacements in sight as of yet.

Brad Pitt drops out of ‘State of Play’
Universal will try to recast by Nov. 29
By MICHAEL FLEMING

This article was updated at 5:01 p.m.

Pitt ankled the film early Wednesday, following two weeks of struggle and meetings with director Kevin Macdonald that prevented the film from making its original November 15 production start date. The studio considers Pitt to have walked out of a pay or play commitment, and is leaving open the option to sue him if the picture cannot be recast in time to keep the other actors in place.

The studio has already begun trying to replace Pitt. But while strike-related production postponements on films like “Angels & Demons” and “Shantaram” made stars like Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp suddenly available, Universal has a very small window to work with. If the studio doesn’t recast and begin production in L.A. and D.C., it will begin losing other cast.

Pitt’s camp disputes that he violated a pay or play deal, that he ever approved a final script, or that he even wanted to drop out of the film that he has been the driving force behind for 16 months. At issue is a disagreement with the studio over the final direction of the shooting script.

The film has been a high U priority since the studio and producers Andrew Hauptman and Working Title partners Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner landed the project after a hot bidding battle. Pitt became the first talent attachment, when he agreed to play a politico-turned-journalist whose loyalties are tested when he spearheads a newspaper’s investigation into a murder that leads to the fast-rising pol whose campaigns the journo once ran (Daily Variety, July 27, 2006).

Pitt sparked to a script by Matthew Michael Carnahan, who adapted the Paul Abbott-created British miniseries. While the actor went off and made several movies in quick succession, most recently “Burn After Reading,” Universal went through rewrites by the likes of Peter Morgan, Tony Gilroy and Billy Ray. While the film attracted a sparkling cast, Pitt’s vision departed with that of the studio somewhere along that rewrite trail.

Numerous films have been unplugged within the last week because of the writer’s strike, but the others were by mutual agreement between the studios and the filmmakers. This was different. Pitt wanted to wait for a strike resolution to get a final rewrite that brought the film back to Carnahan’s original. Universal brass liked the rewritten script better, and told Pitt to honor a contractual commitment so that the studio could release the film for late 2008.

Thanks Jared for putting up a new thread for the BAMPZS fans. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!!!! :-) :-)

Universal is screwed. Brad has final script approval and it’s in his contracts. This is the first time that Brad had the pay or play cause in his contract. And it’s most likely due to him not being comfortable with the re-writes and he’s had this issue with Universal before.

The studios don’t want the writers to know that the strike is affecting projects.

We’ll see if others drop out and that might be why Universal put the threat to sue out there. They might not have clauses in their contracts.

While his looks reminded me of Mickey O’Neil, there was no redeeming quality to Early at all. Further proof that when Brad ‘hides’ his looks, his approachable disposition, and the ‘it’ quality, he is an excellent actor.

In addition, I can totally see Brad ditching State of Play; the role sounds like it has a Tom Cruise/George Clooney feel to it - a roguish b*stard who has the world on the string who decides that the world is suddenly worth saving.

Brad liked the script as it was first adapted by Carnahan. But the script went through many states of re-writes and it got screwed up in the end.

Brad wanted to wait a bit more until the writer’s strike will be resolved so the script will return back to what it was at first with a FINAL re-write. The studio didn’t want to wait because they wanted to release the film in 2008 no matter how the script was. Brad didn’t accept that and backed out.

Thanks for posting this, I am so with Brad on this. The studio is screwed, Brad was perfect for this role, a lot of people were excite because he was going to be in it. I don’t think there is anyone out there that can replace him. He was just perfect for that role IMO

Observer2 @ 11/21/2007 at 8:58 pm

209 question??? : 11/21/2007 at 8:53 pm
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The studio has to pay him regardless, if he plays in the movie or not. Universal is saying he didn’t walk for script reasons. That final script approval gives Brad the right to walk and makes Universal accountable to pay him.

Brad wanted to wait out the strike to get the script back to the version he signed on for. The studio wanted the movie/needed the movie in their 2008 lineup.

Basically, Universal doesn’t it want it out there that he had issues with the script because with the strike, adjustments can’t be made.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

————————————————-
Exactly!! The script has been completely off due to the back to back re-writes. Universal insisted to release the film in 2008 just to show that script writers are not that important and that films can be done without their help. WRONG!!! Brad just showed how much script writers are needed and that he is not going to be a part of a project without having a satisfying script. He supports them.

Their strike has already shown the affect it has in studios and films.

I have a feeling that some others of the cast will drop off also.

Guli, I am being stalked by someone from here by private email . See my previous post. I have contacted Just Jared. It is one thing to be stalked at this site. It is another thing at my email address. I believe this person got my email adrress from a glitch here at Jared when we sometimes see other peoples screenname and address. I do not take kindly to being threatened not to post. I believe it is famous who is behind all of this.

SNOOPY -

Regarding the movie state of play, neither the director nor the writer are Oscar nomineee.

The director directed the movie The last King of Scotland in which the actor won at the Academy and the Golden Globe. It’s the actor who won, NOT the director.

As for the writer, he wrote Lions for Lamb, and The Kingdom. Both movies grossed disappointingly.

Are you getting SENILE? I doubt that. You are just a LIAR

Poor Brad looks wh¡pped.

Ludwig von Mises, you are just jealous. you wish it were you who were whipped.

Well, given that Brad Pitt is a very mediocre, bland actor, it shouldn’t be difficult to find a replacement. And one that is likely much better than Pitt!

Guli, You are probably right. It just bothers me that this hateful loser managed to get my email address from a glitch here at JJ. Now this person may be able to find out my real name and other personal data.

They’re comparing Beowulf and POC but the former has only been out for less than a week and POC has already had the original plus 2 sequels all over the world.

#215: tabitha, my guess is the same as yours. How uncouth! Jared shouldn’t let this mug get away with this.

A new thread. Great. The thing is that they can get someone else but I think Brad’s being in the project brought the other actors in. A script can’t be worked on because there’s a strike which I think is kind of weird. Anything prestrike should be able to continue to get worked on but I guess not. Brad has always been particular about acripts so this is nothing new.

If you ask me it’s Rachel’s casting we should all be worried about. Doesn’t she stick out like a sore thumb? And she’s in Kelly M.’s role.

Poor girl. She can never do the heavy lifting.

Good evening all. To whoever posted brad’s side of the story on sop, thank you. Yep, brad seems to be having a bit of a rough week, but i’m sure angie’s right there supporting him just like he was there for her when her mom died. Way to go brad, supporting the writers! Your fans are behind you! Wherever they are, brad, angie and the kids will surely have a great thanksgiving together.

Thanks for all of those graphs and the links. Really, really interesting stuff. I did a little playing around with them myself. Looking at Angelina, Brad and the twat who shall remain nameless, the results reveal such a disparity between their worldwide appeal and that of hers. She doesn’t even close to their results, once again adding confirmation to the point made by many here that beyond the walls of the US she is virtually unknown. Aww..yes..TBU went straight to DVD in Asia, such a good laugh.
Compare her to Britney in 2007, she’s non-existent. Her graph flat-linned (LOL). Great fun.

Yes, anybody can replace anybody. But Brad is one of the few who has BOTH DOMESTIC and INTERNATIONAL APPEAL.

The international market is big, bigger than the US market. Brad is very very popular overseas.

273 Sebastian : 11/22/2007 at 12:12 am

HERE IS THE ARTICLE:READ THE BOLD.

Jen Schefft, who turned down two proposals on The Bachelorette in 2005, defends Bachelor Brad Womack’s rejection of two female finalists—but sees a double standard at work.

“It’s entirely possible to meet 25 beautiful women (or 25 handsome men) and not fall in love with any of them . . . in a matter of six weeks . . . in isolation . . . with cameras all around. It doesn’t mean the person is too picky … nor does it mean they are gay.” Schefft writes on The Huffington Post. “It just means they would rather be on their own than in a relationship with the wrong person. A sentiment I completely agree with.”

But Schefft, whose book Better Single Than Sorry was published last year, questions the lack of a public backlash against his decision “compared to the negative press I personally received after announcing I didn’t want to be with any of the guys I met on the show.”

“I haven’t seen much denouncing him as a jerk…or proclaiming he made the biggest mistake of his life and that he’d be single forever,” she writes. “When it comes to relationships and breakups, society treats women and men very differently.”

Offering Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson as examples of women who “received the majority of the negative publicity” in their divorces from Brad Pitt and Nick Lachey, Schefft writes that the men “walked away from their marriages with their reputations intact.”

“In the public eye, they’ve been forgiven for whatever role they played in the breakups,” Shefft writes. “The women … have been portrayed as ‘needy’ or ‘pathetic.’ The public worries they’ll be single forever—as if that’s worse than being stuck in an unhappy marriage. For some reason, it’s more acceptable for a man to turn down a woman than it is for a woman to reject a man.”

With only two couples still together after 11 seasons of The Bachelor and three of The Bachelorette, “viewers have come to expect these romances will fail,” Schefft suggests. “But I give Brad a lot of credit for not playing into the fantasy the show creates.” —Gerri Miller

ITAWY. He is not as handsome, is too short, but is a very good actor. Most of his leading ladies are actually taller than he is. He can only play romantic leads sometimes, and he is not an actor hoards of people will drool over. He does not have the “IT” factor Brad has, you have to be born with it.

Brad is getting bashed in some blogs for dropping out, people are bringing up The Fountain, a terrible script and a terrible movie. Brad made a wise career move running away from that turkey. Clooney and Ryan Gosling deopped out of films within the last two weeks, and as usual Clooney was not bashed but Ryan Gosling was. Brad worked on this film for 16 months, I imagine he is very upset with Universal’s refusal to wait for the writer’s strike to end. That studio must have money problems, other studios are waiting for the stike to end before beginning the filming of big projects.

Most Sought After Actor

….ITA If the script is not right it is better to get out now. Think Istar or Waterworld. It is better for Brad to be bashed for a day or so than to star in a piece of junk. Most certainly after the fantastic movies he has done these last two years.

I think the bashing is mostly from people reacting to the first article that was posted all of the internet. Most people have not read the update which gives Brad side of the story that he did not walk off but the studio could not/would not wait for the strike to end.

I smell something,KARMA???first droping out of this movie and in dangerous of sueing, and then NO`s progect and that article from people magazine about him not get any responsible for his break up and just Jen was bashing.something is arounding Brad,Karma is calling Brad.maybe next will be break up with his new insecure woman.I hope it happenes and I can see that it will happen in near future,be ready for their split anouncment in near futuer.

Looks like Daddy Pitt is looking for kid friendly movie to do:

With his sister as illustrator, the book is titled “Rusty the Rainbow Trout Moving Day.” It’s centered on Rusty, a rainbow trout who unexpectedly learns one day that he and his military family would have to move.

The book is just the first of a planned series where we follow Rusty as he grows up and faces other tough issues like bullying, drugs and even war.

“There’s a death planned in the series, and he’s going to have to deal with that,” says Irvin.

While the book is only in stores now, it might soon be on the big screen. A motion picture company is now considering featuring Irvin’s book in an upcoming movie starring Brad Pitt.

They are immensely successful people, not just as ACTORS but also as producer (Brad) and as UN ambassador (Angelina). They didn’t do it by being dumb or self destructive.

It doesn’t surprise me that they are utterly professional and charming. There are many reasons why directors and producers and script writers want to work with Brad and Angelina, but surely one of them is that Brad and Angelina are well liked and well respected. As so many LOSIES have pointed out, Brad and Angelina have not always delivered the box office numbers but still, they keep getting work. Why?? Its obviously not just the money but their talent, their professionalism, and being fun to work with which keeps attracting the work. There may be divas out there but somehow, I don’t think divas survive for as long as both Angelina and Brad have in this highly competitive business.

Johnny Depp may not like the script either.

+++++++++++++

I think Universal is being incredibly shortsighted. If Brad Pitt doesn’t like the script and think it needs to be taken back closer to the original script…then why would universal think OSCAR WINNERS AND NOMINEES like Crowe, Depp & Hanks are going to be anymore interested in the project than Brad is? Doesn’t Universal think, “OH SNAP! Tom & Johnny are gonna call Brad for the 411! And Russell’s a pain in the ass. Nobody wants to work with his diva ass! We are soooooooooooo screwed!”

It seems to me they’re going to have to go for a B-lister to get this project rolling. And I really doubt that Johnny Depp is going to be interested in a political thriller set in LA & DC. Tom Hanks? Maybe. If the script is top notch and he agrees with the director’s vision. But…if he’s putting up road blocks because of a bad script for the Da Vinci Code sequel - which the original sucked, so maybe that’s why he’s being so hardcore about it - then why would he sign onto another project where an A-list actor has walked because of script concerns?

My advice to Universal is - call Matthew McConaughey. He really doesn’t read his scripts too carefully, so the script is NOT going to be a problem. Plus, he needs to start doing some serious movies and put his rom-com days behind him. He’s a much better actor than his last few movies have shown him to be. Then again…the young Brando couldn’t save movies like “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days,” “Wedding Planner” and “Failure To Launch”.

The fact is - there just aren’t too many A-list actors out there who aren’t going to want some kind of changes made to the script. That’s what it took to get Angie to sign on to Wanted as a last-minute replacement for Halle Berry…and that’s what it’s going to take UP to get a GOOD replacement for Brad.

James McAvoy is a dwarf like Tom Cruise. JM will never have the sex appeal Brad Pitt has.

+++++++++++

True…but unlike the Tiniest of Toms…McAvoy is elfishly cute…AND STRAIGHT!

301 daimon = 303 Raichill = 305 SARAH

Karma ? good karma will always be with Brad, the one with bad karma is the one shooting the wannabe movie with some D listed actors and director in the remote town of Oregon, who had a few producing projects for years and can’t be greenlight even stooping so low kissing the ass of the Universal boss daughter can’t help her project. while, Brad’s plan B has several project on production with severals on pre-production. Brad finally settle down with a family and kids while who was still childless at almost 40 and still searching for her soulmate. yes, that’s karma1

James McAvoy was kinda cute and quite talented but his limitation was his height, he was so short. He can’t be another Brad Pitt nor George Clooney.

the real tita @ 11/22/2007 at 3:46 am

#313: now that’s funny! Maybe the trolls can scrape enough fare for a Greyhound bus and visit Aniston in Oregon. The papz don’t seem to be interested in traveling over there to take pictures so maybe they can bring their little cameras and do it themselves.

Angie gets pursued even in unknown towns outside of North America, Europe and Asia yet the ex couldn’t even get a reporter to follow her in a state that close to California. Bigfoot had more sightings than this obscure diva buried in the woods of tra la la.

So we’re guessing the reason why she wanted Courtney to come to her is because she thinks her BFF will be able to drag some media along to give her the much needed publicity. From B-list to A-list to D-list. Now that’s what we call KARMA. The cheapskate will have to drop some more millions for Huvane to keep her ass from being forgotten as usual.

Anyway, somebody was asking about the SOP BBC series -

State of Play

The murder of an MP’s researcher leads journalist Cal McCaffrey to uncover a complex thriller revealing the links between government and big business.

When Sonia Baker, a young political researcher, is killed on the Tube her high profile Labour MP boss (David Morrissey) is devastated. The press smell blood and questions are asked about the nature of his relationship with Sonia.

The story is pursued by The Herald, its editor Cameron Foster (Bill Nighy) and its reporter, Cal McCaffrey (John Simm), who was Stephen’s former campaign manager. Cal is uncomfortable with pursuing what amounts to a domestic scandal until his colleague Della (Kelly Macdonald) discovers a surprising link between Sonia’s death and the murder of black teenager, Kelvin Stagg.

Kelvin had stolen a silver briefcase that contained photos of Stephen and Sonia and a gun. A courier shot at the same time as Kelvin is recovering in hospital when DI Brown, who is in charge of the case, visits him, as does Della. The hospital fire alarm is set off and as they are moving the patient a marksman takes arm at him but misses and kills DI Brown.

After the murder of DI Brown, DCI Bell (Philip Glenister) is put on the investigation. He knows Della is withholding information and is determined to find out what she and Cal know.

Meanwhile, Stephen Collins’ story becomes more complicated when an anonymous fax reveals that his affair with Sonia was far from being a superficial thing - Stephen was going to leave his wife Anne (Polly Walker) for her. This doesn’t go down well with the party’s spin doctor, Andrew Wilson (Michael Feast), who is trying to keep Stephen’s reputation intact. Della realises she is being followed and that her life is in danger.

DCI Bell and Cal collude in a plan to smoke out the hit man. Meanwhile, his team pin the author of the anonymous letters to a City wideboy named Dominic Foy (Marc Warren). The discovery that he had a sexual history with Sonia leads the team to suspect that he’s guilty. Stephen may also be hiding something as Sonia knew she had the job in his office a month before her interview.

Meanwhile, Cal’s personal and professional life gets hopelessly tangled when he embarks on a love affair with Anne Collins.

This leads Stephen to tell Andrew Wilson to leak the information to the press and ruin Cal’s reputation. His only supporter now is the energy minister, George Fergus, who wills him to succeed.

Cal and his team corner Dominic Foy, who is edgy and obstructive and constantly changes his story. They discover a connection between Foy and lobbyists for the oil industry.

Stephen’s defence over the hiring protocol of Sonia leads Cal to interrogate his obtuse assistant Greer (Deborah Findlay) who finally admits to being influenced by an unexpected source. When the UK’s largest oil company gets wind of where The Herald’s investigation is heading, Cameron finds himself under pressure from his board and makes a startling decision.

Sensing that his team is close to snaring their prey, Cal invites Stephen to listen in to an interview with Dominic Foy, hoping that with a few well-aimed questions, the increasingly paranoid Foy will crack. He’s right - Foy’s confession is a goldmine, but it sends Stephen over the edge and Foy to casualty.

On the morning Cameron’s explosive headlines hit the newsstands, Cal travels to Manchester to see Anne. He is disturbed to find her supportive of Stephen when he reveals that Sonia had been planted in his office.

Stephen is now single-minded in his obsession - who in the government knew Sonia was a plant? And why are they protecting George Fergus? His anger at the scale of the deception leads him to Cal once more. But the paper’s executive editor puts the brakes on the story, leading Cal and Cameron to hatch a plan to print it. With the stakes at the highest, their story takes one final, gut-wrenching turn.

From what I read, this script has passed several hands from the first draft Carnahan made which draw Brad in the first place that no wonder it has drifted from the direction Brad signed off 16 months ago. From Michael Carnahan to Peter Morgan to Billy Ray and Tony Gilroy…..I wonder if Hellen Mirren, Edward Norton (who is writing Hulk himself), has also seen this version of the script that Universal is pushing.

LMAO, she will be shooting another wannabe romcom with another bunch of B listed actors at Vancouver next January, Vancouver is a bigger city, if she can’t still attract crowds and razzi, then she is really over!!!
I admire Brad’s gut in walking out of a poor script it’s better than regretting after the movie came out . unlike X, who whinned and complained of poor script, poor costar, poor director after her RHI sucked at the BO (the Vogue interview on 2005).

Warner Brothers’Israeli founders were the ones who forced writers to surrender their copyrights to the studios. While acting like facists who forced employees to vote for American politicians and policies the foreign-born founders wanted. They tainted elections. Meanwhile these same foreign-born Israelis were taking jabs at Germany’s leader while hiding behind our backs. The founders of Warner Brothers incited war with Germany while the founders were implimenting facist policies at Warner Brothers Studios. Ironic? No. Selfish? Yes. Hypocritical? Yes. They asked us to save their race while forcing our nation into war while also insulting us, thwarting our form of government, stomping all over our Constitutional rights, our freedoms our way of life. They were traitors and oppressors. Writer’s have had to struggle for a fair percentage ever since this Hollywood corporation, WB, founded by foreign-born Israeli used money from Golman Sachs to undermine writers, workers and America all at once. Goldman Sachs is now a haven for wannabe neocons who form a third party in America, a party that thrives on robbing the American masses. Goldman Sachs who financed Warner Brothers threw us into WWII and into Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and elsewhere in the middle east where with JINSA they plan to kill any politician or soldier or person who doesn’t agree with giving Israel the right to suck infinately on the American teat and to use us like pawns in their Acopolyptic charade. They want war all the time and the masses are just their pawns. Real writers aren’t wanted. Tools are what they prefer. Propaganda is a big part of their game. They won’t pay writers well because writers must remain the neocon tool. Writers were made into tools when Warner Brothers deprived them of their right to own their own property and took their copyrights from them and their families instead of leasing the copyright temporarily. Now the neocons control the total message everywhere always. If they can, they steal your work to enrich themselves then insult you through your work. The rob you AND spit in your face through the movie they stole from you. They own the courts and will likely kill judges who won’t go along with the JINSA program so there is no justice for writers or anyone in the court system.

The writers strike is a charade designed to cover up the news of the results of The Peoples Boycott of Nov 2, 2007. The puppet masters at the guilds are in collusion with the neocon/Jinsa Military Industrial complex. They know they are manipulating writers for hire who are unknowingly retooling real writers’ work and, might I had, hacking up and perverting the original work while patting themselves on the back. The guild knows that these ignorant tools don’t deserve a raise. They are pawns in the neocon charade. Goldman Sachs are neocons financiers. They are war profiteers. Do you think a little writers’s strike is going to result in a raise when Americans as a whole are being robbed senselessly by the neocons who’ve stolen two trillions dollars in a war for natural resources and to spread theocracies to the ignorant masses, the repulsed masses and the secular masses around the world.

Fascism is their game, that’s how they make their money. They have no talent of their own so they steal. They keep the people divided while they rob them all at once. There’s no justice because talentless thieves can’t afford to be sued or hung for treason and human rights violations.

The neocon/Jinsa/military-industrial complex is the Fight Club and the Devil at a State of Play. Robbing and theocratic fascism is the name of their game.

Nick Counter will likely counter any request for profit made by the writers so all percieved momentum will be nullified. The guild will likely play the writers like a fiddle because it’s too easy to bribe one or a few men.

The only position the writers should take is to hold out indefinately unless the studios agree to forfeit copyright ownership, to force the studios to agree to lease a copyright for a maximum of 15 years and no more. The copyright should stay the property of the person who laboured to put pen to paper and create intellectual property. It should not be transferred to any studio, it’s too valuable.

Then writers will gain respect and power that they deserve in Hollywood. The auteur director, like Speilberg, will no longer be the god of Hollywood. He should not be; Julia Phillips was the mastermind behind putting Close Encounters on the movie screen. Speilberg was merely her shadow. Jack Valenti who monopolized the MPAA for 40 years likely gave Speilberg carte blance from the very beginning. Speilberg never hopped a studio fence in his life. He waltzed in and was assigned a hanger to film in by a studio executive. The Israeli-fence-hopping myth is just a story to make everyone else think he’s a brave Israeli who never got arrested for threatening the security of actors or for traspassing. We’re led to believe he was brave and rewarded for traspassing instead of being carried into a studio hanger like Cleopatra carried to her harem of eunichs. These auteurs get a lot of free sex behind the scene by desperate actresses who sleep with the film crew on film but the footage is left on the cutting room floor or shared privately amongst the Hollywood “elite”.

There’s a wall keeping real writers out so that the few talentless theives can dominate the film industry. They don’t have to worry about sharing profits with competitors if they keep their tools at the top and block all others. That seemed to be the position of Jack, to have the keepers open the gates to their chosen tools and to close the gates to all others by stealing intellectual property and ruining the reputations of actors who would prove to be too much competition for the chosen tools. All they want is money and to dominate the market though what is somewhat of a monopoly. The gatekeepers are thieves. They are too greedy and talentless to supress their urge to steal valuable property. They hire tools to write the script to fit their message and change it just enough so that they can give a bribed judge the ability to say, “It’s different, it’s not plagiarized.” They avoid buying the right to change someone else’s script. They save lots of money that way.

It’s good that this actor backed out of the film because the hack writers would likely add something shaddy into the film, something that would be an insult to America and to our way of life. The tools follow instructions of their slave masters and prefer money to integrity, self-respect, honor and dignity. Their motto seems to be money before country, or else, it’s money first.

And I just want to say Happy Thanksgiving. I’m so happy to give. I don’t even need a thank you. Despite the New Dark Age the fascist theocratic neocons have sunk us into, I know million of my countrymen know what is going on and are addressing this matter and that the duplicitous neocon party is going to pay for their crimes against the world’s people.

Thanksgiving at the Pitt family home in Missouri will be interesting, says Star magazine sources, after Jane allegedly chewed out Angelina for her candor in a recent interview in which the actress discussed her past drug use.

“I’ve done just about every drug possible. Coke, heroin, ecstasy, everything,” Angelina, 32, said in the October issue of Cosmopolitan UK.

The mother of four even described a wild trip she took to Disneyland while on LSD.

Star alleges that Brad’s teetotaler mom Jane, 66, was furious at the admission.
“Jane was livid after she saw Angelina’s drug quotes — and she really let Angie have it when they were on the phone together shortly after,” an insider tells Star. “Jane told Angie there was nothing to gain from rehashing her drug use…”

“Jane scolded Angie, saying that some things should be kept personal and that her seemingly unending public admissions made it look as if she had no class — and that some people might even consider her ‘trailer trash’!”

“Angie told Jane she was sorry, that she never meant for the interview to cause any problems,” the Star insider claims. “Then she handed the phone to Brad. He agreed that Angie’s latest admission was uncalled for — but he also told his mom that maybe she was being a little too hard on her. Brad reminded his mother how far Angie has come from her wild days, and that this blowup was only going to set their relationship back again.”

A representative for Brad Pitt denies Star magazine’s story.

Angelina is filming “The Changeling” in L.A. and wanted to do something else for Thanksgiving but Brad talked her out of them. “Angie didn’t want to go to Missouri for Thanksgiving,” the Star source reveals. “She wanted to spend the holiday on another humanitarian mission, but Brad insisted that they were going to have a traditional Thanksgiving with his family — and Angie gave in.”

Variety updated as Brad is giving his version

Everything in that article is a lie and rehashed from many moons ago. Angelina is a Pitt now and the family knows about Angelina and her past. For goodness sakes it’s been almost 4 years that Brad’s parents have known about Angelina. She’s no secret to them or anyone in the public who has seen her metoric rise as an A list actress. Brad is not a tradtional kind of guy. If you read his interviews over the years you can see that he was trying to escape the life he had in Missouri. Angelina may come across to many on the surface as edgy, counterculture, etc, but underneath it all, she is just a regular fun ol gal that guys seem to like to hang out with. You can hang out with her ya know? She’s a man’s woman. So any attempts to portray anyone in Brad’s “family” acting shocked at anything Angelina has done is bogus. No one knows where the Jolie-Pitt’s are having Thanksgiving dinner. They could just be together chilling with take out pizzza for all we know. LOL!!!!

Happy Turkey everyone.

I wonder where the jolie-pitt’s are?

All of this talk of karma, again, people that throw that word around so carelessly, have no idea what it is. And how can he walk right before filming?

Brad’s issues with the script have been well known and documented. A month or so before the writer’s strike, Universal was worried that they were going to lose him to another project. He hadn’t committed because he hadn’t seen the final re-write. The last writer was doing re-writes, up until the strike. That’s when Brad saw the script and the studio and Brad have been trying to come to terms since. The studio isn’t surprised that he was unhappy with it. He’s been vocal. When the strike happened, the trades were hinting that SOP might be a casualty because Brad still didn’t like the script.

The studios were all puffing out their chests that this writer’s strike would hurt them or affect them. Now, a number of projects have been delayed or have had the plug pulled on them due to it. And the studios that were saying, that they were going to go ahead and shoot movies with unfinished scripts, please. That’s not going to happen. Unless, this strike gets settled soon, SOP won’t be the last possible casualty.

As someone already mentioned, it’s going to be difficult to get another high profile lead to sign on with the script, as is, without the option of being able to make changes.

sorry but did he read the script the day they should start filming???

he surely knew before he does not like it, so he could back out earlier, so the all the people there, who rely on the production going on would not need to worry about their financial future right now - but again, why should pitt worry about other people on set?

…………..

He attached himself to the project because he liked the original script written by Carnahan and the studio decided to do rewrite on it. Brad wants to wait for the strike to be over and get a final rewrite but the studio wants to film it with whatever script they have because they want this film in their 2008 lineup. Blame the studio since they were the ones pushing the production forward despite without having the star fully committed. They didn’t want to lose Brad to other studios’ projects so they tried to assemble the film too quickly and thought that their rewrites would be good enough before the strike. They were taking chances and sometimes it doesn’t work out.

Star mag is a lowly, lying magazine. In the past, star mag’s printing paper material was similar to those “newspaper” type material, and was displayed next to National Enquirer. Now, the mag prints in GLOSSY magazine paper, TRYING to SNEAK IN CLOSE TO PEOPLE MAG.

Regarding Angie’s past, we have heard it,saw it and read it for a hundred times, I’m sure Brad and his family knew it, I’m sure Clinton, Powell, Condi, her UN colleague , HW bosses knew it, but that doesn’t change our and their perception of Angelina, She’s still getting job offer, she’s still representing the UN, Clinton still invite them to speak, Condi and Colin still spare some precious time for a talk with Angie.she gaining fans all over the world and lastly, Brad love her more than anything in his life, He never love a woman like this, MOTHER OF HIS CHILDREN, THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE !

What I find taxing is how fans jump all over fans for absolutely nothing!! So what, some want to talk about Angie’s womb. Does anyone really think that there won’t be a new addition (either biological or adopted) to their family in 2008? I think she will also do more with UNHCR. I love to talk about their family and I am not reducing Angie to just a uterus. But let’s face facts – the bio baby they made is gorgeous and the others are too. And another thing, Angie could never be reduced to ANYTHING!! She is that PHENOMENAL.

What would you prefer we talk about? Or rather argue about? Those comments seem to get the most response. Seems to me, some of you have run off more good folks than bad. However, they gladly carry on side conversations with known haters – ritzy/famous/black/dj and now damion et el – are most likely the same person but definitely the same mindset! Hell, they will get more responses to their comments than any post of mine ever will.

I saw Beowulf last night and not in 3D. Even in the regular version, it was still very good. I try not to read too much on BA upcoming projects. I tend to skip over those post in general. Brad will be 43 this year and has been in the business close to 20 years - if he wants a better script, than give him a better script. If the movie is made with him, I will see it as soon as it released. If its made without him, I wont be there.

Again, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!

Clearly, the haters haven’t gotten the memo about Brad Pitt not giving a tinker’s d@mn about their opinions and suggestions. He didn’t stay with ___; he didn’t abide by the super-secret, Princess-decreed six month grace period before getting involved with Angelina and her children; he didn’t hesitate impregnating Angelina; he didn’t make a beeline back to ___ after Angelina had Shiloh; he didn’t introduce Shiloh to ___, another super-secret Princess mandate; he didn’t make a beeline to CA, like many expected him to do; and he didn’t run back to the waiting arms of the reported CA best friends that he missed oh so much.

So if he didn’t do any of that, what makes haters think that he would use Just for Men or remain clean-shaven just because those plunkers want him to or suggest that he does?

oh, so nice…It was said this guy just enjoyed hot dating with a black guy on. may fans show so much interesting to him there? i may go to check it…

360. Bonjour claire! Oui c’est 8 heure du matin en californie. Je suis d’accord, je suis de tout coeur avec brad. Il n’etait pas content avec tous les changements du script et voulait attendre que la greve des ecrivains soit finie. Il voulait faire un film bien sans se depecher.

I hope they will find someone before the 29th.

Good luck to them and Happy Thanxgiving everyone! :D

There is so much good and bad that has happened this year!

brad did this allready in the past - leaving cast without work and letting project die!

here from aintitcool.com about this humanitarian who does not care about people, who wont give him some “world humanitarian” publicity…

Brad Pitt Drains THE FOUNTAIN!! An Open & Angry Letter From The Crew!!
Hey, everyone. “Moriarty” here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
We’ve been reporting on this film for a while now, and I’ve been quite vocal about hoping Aronofsky would be able to work out the difficulties he’s had in bringing this ambitious and beautiful script to the screen.
Looks like all that energy has, once again, been for nothing. At least for the moment.
What you’re about to read is one of the angriest, most blunt things I’ve ever published at AICN, and it comes from the place that never seems to have a voice in this business, the rank and file. When Harry and I visit film sets, we love to meet the guys who paint the sets, the guys who work as drivers… the guys who really do see and hear everything. These guys are the backbones of the films they work on, and making them angry is never a good thing. In this particular case, they’re feeling jerked around, and this letter is a perfect example of what it feels like to have your livelihood based on the decisions of someone you’ll most likely never meet. This is a personal opinion, keep in mind, that of someone who just saw a job walk out the door, and it also conclusively confirms news that I have been getting sent to me as rumors for the last few days:

Dear Harry,

We are sorry to tell you as of 1/2 an hour ago the news was announced to all of us working on the picture that the film is over. Apparently Brad cannot be talked back onto the film. Aronofsky said he and producer Gil Adler tried everything they could to convince him to come back on, but no cigar. The fact is that Warner Brothers will not go ahead without another big-name star. Aronofsky said there are only four other big names that are of Pitt’s box-office caliber, all of whom are unavailable at such short notice.

The real bummer is for the 400 or so crew who have flown in from all corners of Australia and overseas - out on their asses. What amazes us is that it appears Brad Pitt has no real understanding of the impact of his decision, now only seven weeks from shooting. We estimate there is over 1500 people here in Australia, including family and children, who are now displaced and unemployed.

Do these stars, who get paid a huge percentage of a film’s budget, understand that they are responsible for the livelihood of so many others? It appears that Brad surely doesn’t. He may have a good reason for pulling out now, but to us it just appears like Hollywood prima-donna antics.

Word from the top is that we have to carefully wrap and store the enormous sets we have built, because the picture will go ahead, probably in twelve months time, with another star. Someone, hopefully, who is a bit more respectful of all the ‘little people’, who make their stars shine.

Aronofsky is totally gutted, and being that this is the second time we have built, painted and then packed this film in less than a year, he has encouraged us to voice our anger at Pitt’s decision.

Aronofsky has planed a wrap party at his beachfront house. Given the nature of this wrap I think there will be some serious partying.

Send the word…. Brad is a ****.

The Crew @ THE FOUNTAIN

P.S. - New Aussie phrase - when someone shafts you: “You’ve been Pitted”
I pray this film does end up back in front of cameras at the right time in the very near future. In the meantime, maybe Vin Diesel and Universal and David Twohy can look into stepping up and using the studio space and the crews that just ended up in freefall. Diesel’s quoted over at Dark Horizons this morning saying that he was disappointed to be headed to Vancouver because all the Australian crews were allegedly busy. That way, the PITCH BLACK team gets what they want, the Australian crews end up working, and no one has to lose.
“Moriarty” out.

I dont blame him he has a reason for droping it like sh*t he wants to be with angie aftershe finishes filming with clint she said she’s gonna take time off

372 ??? :

you have issues.

Brad Pitt popped into Austin Reed in Londo’s Regent Street to stick up on flat hats and granddad shirts. ‘It’s lovely being a dad now - i can be a bit more of a slob,’ says the actor.

372 ??? :

lmao you act like you know Brad, His decisions don’t affect Your life.

brad did this allready in the past - leaving cast without work and letting project die!

——————————————

What happened to THE FOUNTAIN? It was a terrible movie that should not have been made. It flopped financially and was critically panned.

The film was ill-prepared because of a bad script and should not have been made.

So, you want Brad to do a film, that he thinks has a bad script and doesn’t want to do, so other people can have a job? Oh, man…

Hiya to all fans logged on now! Happy thanksgiving to all american fans. Let’s see…what’s next? One week until pax’s birthday, one month until daddy brad’s birthday, christmas five days later, oh yeah and award season around the corner. Yep, it’s all good!

??? = Jennifer Aniston.
She has no life.

piper, with a low @ 11/22/2007 at 11:49 am

Happy Thanksgiving all…

A couple things regarding the Star stories:

I think that both stories are b^ll$hit. First of all, if Jane Pitt would get mad at Angelina for talking about drug abuse that is years behind her, how do you think Jane would feel about ____’s topless, pot-smoking pics, w/VV, from just last fall? Jane, getting mad because Angelina was being honest vs. ___, doing everything in her power to cover up photographic proof of something she readily admitted to years ago in an interview? Gimme a break.

And the Julia Roberts story… sorry, but I’m not buying that either. First of all, Julia was pregnant while the film was being shot, so she couldn’t do it if she wanted to. Secondly, would Brad seriously hire her to do a role that would require her to look the part? Mary Reilly, anyone? Thirdly, the reason why this project got done was because Mariane consented to a lot of the choices, including Angelina. And given the differing styles of Julia and Angelina, Angelina seems more adept at the film’s independent, improvisational style. And somehow, I get the feeling that if Julia did the part, Mariane and Daniel’s story would’ve been an afterthought.

And with that, I see you all later.

Tom oneil from intouch was MSNBC, talking about that adoption bull-hit again. anyone else seen it?

One thing to be thankful for is ‘LIFE’!

Happy Thanksgiving to all the fans. Many stars such as Clooney have dropped out of films for one concern or another. BP is not the first and he won’t be the last. “The fountain” was a crappy movie and was generally panned. Many Movies are given re-writes and re-shoots up until the delivery date. With the writers strike in place, it would make a crappy script and film even more so. The studio heads are about making money and box office. A film with an all star cast does not necessary make a good film. I am sure if Universal wants this film to get made they will find another actor of lesser box office and star quality. However, this only gives the lonely troll one more reaston to grip about BP who does not know she exist. Peace to all.

on MSNBC, sorry

Gives the lonely troll (the X) one more “reason” to grip about her ex. who is enjoying Thanksgiving with his family. Move on troll(s) a new year is dawning. Happy Thanksgiving to all the troll(s) and fans. Best wishes to BAMPZS.

Fanistons always live in the past. Brad will be working with Aronofsky in The Figher. Brad decision on The Fountain was correct. Adults make hard decision. They just don’t follow what would be more comfortable.

Once again Brad is not stopping SOP. He just wants to delay it until the writers strike. Just like Depp has done one his movie. Do you care that there are lots of people from India out of work. How about this writers strike. Maybe they should go back to work because everyone from the resturant workers near the studios to the camera person on tv shows are not getting paid because the writers want more money. If you don’t work for David Letterman than you aren’t getting a paycheck.

The Fountain

Domestic: $10,144,010 63.8%
+ Foreign: $5,765,147 36.2%
= Worldwide: $15,909,157

Production Budget: $35 million

… however, this film definitely got a very good treatment from WARNER BROS because it had a wide release of 2,560 theaters. Oh, WARNER also spent a considerable amount for its marketing and distribution.
