OlderBrad Pitt Drops ‘State of Play’
Brad Pitt has dropped out of State of Play and Universal Pictures is currently trying to replace him, according to Variety.
If Brad’s character doesn’t recast and get the picture going by Nov. 29, it will begin losing the other actors in the film and Universal can bring a lawsuit against Brad for bailing.
Brad was set to star alongside Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman and Robin Wright Penn in the Matthew Michael Carnahan-scripted adaptation of the British miniseries. Brad was playing a politico-turned-journalist who spearheads a newspaper’s investigation of a murder, a trail that leads to the fast-rising pol whose campaigns were once masterminded by Brad’s character.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad has pulled out because of script concerns and the script cannot be worked on due to the writers strike.
Who could possibly fill the shoes of Brad Pitt??

A new thread. Great. The thing is that they can get someone else but I think Brad’s being in the project brought the other actors in. A script can’t be worked on because there’s a strike which I think is kind of weird. Anything prestrike should be able to continue to get worked on but I guess not. Brad has always been particular about acripts so this is nothing new.
If you ask me it’s Rachel’s casting we should all be worried about. Doesn’t she stick out like a sore thumb? And she’s in Kelly M.’s role.
Poor girl. She can never do the heavy lifting.

Yep, brad seems to be having a bit of a rough week, but i’m sure angie’s right there supporting him just like he was there for her when her mom died. Way to go brad, supporting the writers! Your fans are behind you! Wherever they are, brad, angie and the kids will surely have a great thanksgiving together.
