Brad Pitt Drops ‘State of Play’
Brad Pitt has dropped out of State of Play and Universal Pictures is currently trying to replace him, according to Variety.
If Brad’s character doesn’t recast and get the picture going by Nov. 29, it will begin losing the other actors in the film and Universal can bring a lawsuit against Brad for bailing.
Brad was set to star alongside Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman and Robin Wright Penn in the Matthew Michael Carnahan-scripted adaptation of the British miniseries. Brad was playing a politico-turned-journalist who spearheads a newspaper’s investigation of a murder, a trail that leads to the fast-rising pol whose campaigns were once masterminded by Brad’s character.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad has pulled out because of script concerns and the script cannot be worked on due to the writers strike.
Who could possibly fill the shoes of Brad Pitt??

Yes, anybody can replace anybody. But Brad is one of the few who has BOTH DOMESTIC and INTERNATIONAL APPEAL.
The international market is big, bigger than the US market. Brad is very very popular overseas.

HERE IS THE ARTICLE:READ THE BOLD.
Jen Schefft, who turned down two proposals on The Bachelorette in 2005, defends Bachelor Brad Womack’s rejection of two female finalists—but sees a double standard at work.
“It’s entirely possible to meet 25 beautiful women (or 25 handsome men) and not fall in love with any of them . . . in a matter of six weeks . . . in isolation . . . with cameras all around. It doesn’t mean the person is too picky … nor does it mean they are gay.” Schefft writes on The Huffington Post. “It just means they would rather be on their own than in a relationship with the wrong person. A sentiment I completely agree with.”
But Schefft, whose book Better Single Than Sorry was published last year, questions the lack of a public backlash against his decision “compared to the negative press I personally received after announcing I didn’t want to be with any of the guys I met on the show.”
“I haven’t seen much denouncing him as a jerk…or proclaiming he made the biggest mistake of his life and that he’d be single forever,” she writes. “When it comes to relationships and breakups, society treats women and men very differently.”
Offering Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson as examples of women who “received the majority of the negative publicity” in their divorces from Brad Pitt and Nick Lachey, Schefft writes that the men “walked away from their marriages with their reputations intact.”
“In the public eye, they’ve been forgiven for whatever role they played in the breakups,” Shefft writes. “The women … have been portrayed as ‘needy’ or ‘pathetic.’ The public worries they’ll be single forever—as if that’s worse than being stuck in an unhappy marriage. For some reason, it’s more acceptable for a man to turn down a woman than it is for a woman to reject a man.”
With only two couples still together after 11 seasons of The Bachelor and three of The Bachelorette, “viewers have come to expect these romances will fail,” Schefft suggests. “But I give Brad a lot of credit for not playing into the fantasy the show creates.” —Gerri Miller

Exactly !!!
Who better than to replace Pitt with a younger, more handsome & far more talented actor? FYC James McAvoy.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
but he is a dwarf.
James McAvoy is a dwarf like Tom Cruise. JM will never have the sex appeal Brad Pitt has.

THANKS for answering my question!!
And this is the most IDIOTIC article i have ever read!! Yeah, i cannot believe that this Idiot actually said that Maniston “received the majority of the negative publicity”, when Maniston was the one who created so much negative publicity towards Brad and Angie!!
And nobody needs to portray Maniston needy or pathetic; because Maniston is exactly that!! The person who wrote this article has to be the most RETARTED person alive!!

Hayden Christensen!! hehe!! I’m kiding!! Hayden is a HORRIBLE actor!! Although Hayden has a CRUSH on Angie!! Yeah, Hayden declare in an Australian Radio interview that he would like to have sex with Angie!!
James McAvoy? younger? YES !!
The ability to draw and wow audience, NO !!!
Handsome? NO !!!!
more talented? NO !!
Again, think INTERNATIONAL MARKET. If I were the investor, I would pick Brad Pitt who has the appeal and the record (an established solid record overseas).

ITAWY. He is not as handsome, is too short, but is a very good actor. Most of his leading ladies are actually taller than he is. He can only play romantic leads sometimes, and he is not an actor hoards of people will drool over. He does not have the “IT” factor Brad has, you have to be born with it.
Brad is getting bashed in some blogs for dropping out, people are bringing up The Fountain, a terrible script and a terrible movie. Brad made a wise career move running away from that turkey. Clooney and Ryan Gosling deopped out of films within the last two weeks, and as usual Clooney was not bashed but Ryan Gosling was. Brad worked on this film for 16 months, I imagine he is very upset with Universal’s refusal to wait for the writer’s strike to end. That studio must have money problems, other studios are waiting for the stike to end before beginning the filming of big projects.

Totally agree with you. Brad Pitt is an international mega movie star. He has fans around the world. I don’t see anybody in Hollywood can replace him.
Universal will sign someone cheaper, increase their profit margin on this pix, turn what could have been a great film into a semiturkey.
Or maybe Brad and the studio need a cooling off period of a few days and then try to work things out.

I guess many men and some women dream of having sex with Angie. And many women and some men dream of having sex with Brad.
Most Sought After Actor
Winner: Brad Pitt
Despite his spotty box-office track record (see Troy, Fight Club, Meet Joe Black), Pitt scored the most votes. “He’s charming, talented, handsome, and has international appeal,” says one A-list producer.

….ITA If the script is not right it is better to get out now. Think Istar or Waterworld. It is better for Brad to be bashed for a day or so than to star in a piece of junk. Most certainly after the fantastic movies he has done these last two years.
I think the bashing is mostly from people reacting to the first article that was posted all of the internet. Most people have not read the update which gives Brad side of the story that he did not walk off but the studio could not/would not wait for the strike to end.
