OlderBrad Pitt Drops ‘State of Play’
Brad Pitt has dropped out of State of Play and Universal Pictures is currently trying to replace him, according to Variety.
If Brad’s character doesn’t recast and get the picture going by Nov. 29, it will begin losing the other actors in the film and Universal can bring a lawsuit against Brad for bailing.
Brad was set to star alongside Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman and Robin Wright Penn in the Matthew Michael Carnahan-scripted adaptation of the British miniseries. Brad was playing a politico-turned-journalist who spearheads a newspaper’s investigation of a murder, a trail that leads to the fast-rising pol whose campaigns were once masterminded by Brad’s character.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad has pulled out because of script concerns and the script cannot be worked on due to the writers strike.
Who could possibly fill the shoes of Brad Pitt??

I went to Steiner elementary in the 1950s from grade 2 to grade 6. As private schools go, it was pretty good back then. I got a nice solid education in the fundamentals, none of that “progressive education” bullshit. But how in the world that airhead ever got into Steiner I will never understand. Oh, we get that there are those who don’t see Brad Pitt through rose-colored glasses. For anyone who expressed a positive opinion about him, they get some yahoo trying to shout them down. WE GET THAT! But, what you fail to recognize is that, in this universe, two actors in the same movie, can deliver outstanding performances. In the case of TAOJJ, there were several people who did just that, including Brad Pitt. Shake your head if you want, but it won’t dissuade those who actually saw the movie, from feeling this way.
You think that Casey should have won at Venice. Maybe he should have; but then again, there was probably other actors who were just as worthy. My problem is that people like you beef about stuff that was never within your control. But hey, if Venice means that much to you, fine. Personally, I think that you’re deliberately overlooking some facts, like Brad, himself, being surprised that he won the award and that at every opportunity, he praised Casey for his work in the film and in Gone Baby Gone and not in a patronizing, big fish grudgingly giving the little fish some props (unless you count the roast-like speech at the Hollywood Awards, which you might), but as one actor being struck by another actor’s skill.
No, Brad doesn’t deserve bonus points for being the same man he has been throughout his career, but he does deserve some consideration, instead of being looked at through hater-shades.
Take your beef up with the Venice committee.

Janice Dickinson is a freaking loony tune. Did you ever see her on The Surreal Life? She was in the same bunch of Omarosa from The Apprentice, baseball player/steroid abuser Jose Canseco and Pink’s hubby Carey Hart. OMFG. She and Omarosa used to have some hilarious b#tch fights and Omarosa always kept saying Janice was high from doing coke…and then one night at dinner I can’t even remember what Janice did to her, but Omarosa had a knife and said she’d had enough of Janice’s sh#t and was going to “fix her”. Then the episode ended…and I forgot to watch the next week and I never did see what happened with that fight! Why, did they go up? Just a few weeks ago there was a big article - either EW or TVG - on the seasons most disappointing ratings and they listed Heroes numbers as being down almost 50% and said the writers strike wasn’t going to help that number at all.

Actually, Janice was the one with the knife. They were doing a photo shoot with the whole cast and Janice decided to pick up a butcher knife and hold it like she was going to stab Omarosa with it. Omarosa lost it and stormed off.
But anyway, I do agree that Janice has some major issues, mainly stemming from the abuse from her father. IMO, that’s probably the reason why Janice is fixated on Angelina. Angelina never suffered the brutality Janice did, but there is something about Angelina that makes people feel a kinship towards her. The problem is that the severely damaged ones take it too far.
