Brad Pitt Drops ‘State of Play’
Brad Pitt has dropped out of State of Play and Universal Pictures is currently trying to replace him, according to Variety.
If Brad’s character doesn’t recast and get the picture going by Nov. 29, it will begin losing the other actors in the film and Universal can bring a lawsuit against Brad for bailing.
Brad was set to star alongside Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman and Robin Wright Penn in the Matthew Michael Carnahan-scripted adaptation of the British miniseries. Brad was playing a politico-turned-journalist who spearheads a newspaper’s investigation of a murder, a trail that leads to the fast-rising pol whose campaigns were once masterminded by Brad’s character.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad has pulled out because of script concerns and the script cannot be worked on due to the writers strike.
Who could possibly fill the shoes of Brad Pitt??

you must be so lame, so you want angelina to break up with brad just because you think she receives bad press?
>>>>>>>>>>>
Reading the stupidity, from these people who think that Angelina ought to leave Brad because of bad press makes me laugh and roll my eyes. Yup, like the bad press is going to stop when Angelina leaves Brad.
The bad press is never going to stop on Angelina because she is everything that most women who read tablies and want to believe them are not:
She’s smart,
She’s gutsy
She’s an over achiever
She’s a woman.
The press would simply have new things to talk about like, , “Angelina depressed because ….” “Will Angelina lose Shiloh?” Angelina back to drug habit, to lose Shiloh” “Brad and Angelina fight over Shiloh” (I don’t think Maddox, Pax and Zahara will figure in these headlines somehow - do you??) and on and on it goes. And oh yes, initially, there’ll also be the “Angie furious Brad secretly seeing Jennifer” “Angie lashes out at Brad, You never love me, you always wanted Jennifer” “Angie says Brad tricked her into having Shiloh, uses her as baby incubator” And oh, the best one I can think of: “Angie takes Shiloh to her Cambodian estate, lays LAND MINES around her property. Come and Get her Brad, Angie taunts and make my day”
Judging by Brad and Angelina’s public actions, taking time to be together in London recently and on other occasions this year (barcelona, Toronto etc) Angelina and Brad seem to be very committed to keeping their relationship strong. Who knows what will happen to Angelina and Brad in the future? Most of us will live to the age of 75 or more. Which one amongst us who are now in our late 30s or early 40s can be 100% certain whilst being 100% honest to ourselves, that we will still be with the same man or woman when we are 75? 30 to 40 years is a long long time in our lives.
It seems to me that Brad and Angelina seem very together and seem to demonstrate a clear determination to stay together. I definitely hope for the sakes of their children that they remain happy and together for a long long time. That’s all.
And BTW, I don’t believe anyone really breaks up because of bad press - and no, I don’t believe Heather Mills and Paul Mccartney broke up because of media pressure. Reading the stuff that has come out of Heather Mill’s OWN MOUTH through her interviews and the fact that her own lawyers in London SACKED HER, I can only conclude that the MAIN reason why that marriage failed is because Heather appears to be a egotistical, vain, insecure beeyotch.

Brad Pitt has revealed that despite the pressures of raising four children with Angelina Jolie, he could take even more responsibility.
The Troy star - who made the headlines yesterday for withdrawing from political drama State of Play - has said he’d like even more children, even though he already has adopted children Maddox, Pax and Zahara, as well as biological daughter Shiloh Nouvel to look after.
Talking to Weekend magazine, the 43-year-old actor said: “I want as many children as I can handle.
“Fatherhood is my greatest role yet,” he added. “This is the most fun I’ve ever had.”
And though tabloid rumours of hiccups in his relationship with Tomb Raider star Jolie have persisted, Pitt insisted the pair are blissfully content together.
“Angelina is the most wonderful woman I’ve known,” he explained. “The children are the joy of my life and I feel as if I have been made into a new person.
“Now I am happy. And I have Angelina to thank for that.”
The actor’s exit from State of Play was confirmed yesterday, with the multiple script rewrites during Universal’s adaptation of Paul Abbott’s BBC series thought to have sparked his departure.
Pitt was due to reunite with his Fight Club co-star Edward Norton in the drama directed by Last King of Scotland helmer Kevin Macdonald, which also features Dame Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman and Robin Wright Penn.

hey Angelina`s so called fans, did you read her recent interview which she said in it,last thing I am in my life is actress.wow how many things can come between mother(first) and actree(last),good wife, good woman, good friend, good sister, aunt, etc….
so see for her Acting is just way to get money for her UN works,so for sure media attacking her won`t put her down or make her worry.so instead of worrying about Angie and brad`s relationship,be more worry about your own relationship.for sure brad has something that Angie stays with him longer than any other man in her life.sorry I know you are X`s fans but let me tell you something,Brad won`t come back to your idol, now go and fukc yourself. :D

#940: PT, maybe the miscarriage was before Brad, with Tate D perhaps. Then she still continued on while married to Brad so she would never got preggers. She would have to be thin because she had to wear all those nice clothes on Friends and was feeling A-list already at the time, meaning always red carpet ready and preparing to do face-offs with the real stars.
+++++++++++++++
TRT - No, it was supposed to have been during the marriage. That’s part of the clue - that the male hormones led to the miscarriage which led to the demise of her marriage.
I’m so certain that X was never pregnant when she was involved with Brad that I’d be willing to bet good money on it. If there was ever a sure thing with X…her not being knocked up by Brad Pitt is it! That b#tch would never have taken the chance of being saddled with ANYONE’S kids. She didn’t and doesn’t want them and she needs to stop talking about wanting them before it becomes another “secret” that her so-called friends start rumors about.

Would you PUH-LEEZE quit posting this damned story from Reuters. It’s the second time today you posted it and there’s nothing in this story that wasn’t known 3 days ago when Jared had a thread on it. If you feel the need to post the story then put on that thread and stop wasting our time on this one with it. We talked about for a solid week. Enough already. Since no one has bothered to respond to you then clearly nobody wants to talk about it anymore!
Since you apparently don’t know that a thread on this subject already exists, here’s the link…go there and knock yourself out talking to yourself about it…

Amen. I already told Mr. or Mrs. Reuters that once today and they posted it again a few hours later. Let it go. It’s what’s known as a Cluster Fcuk. There are over 800 posts about it on the last thread. The person posting this story needs to go over there and read them and keep it off this thread.

Fugly Stewart can keep right on dreaming with the rest of the world! LOL! This chick is a twit. Sorry Rod. The only worthwhile contribution she’s ever made to the planet is being polite and calling X “homely”. And the sad thing is…X is prettier than Kimberly Stewart! AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! That’s what I think every time I see Kimberly Stewart. That and “how could THAT be Rod Stewart’s daughter?!”

How many times in My Take going to bump her comments.
++++++++++++++
ROTFL. My thoughts exactly. The sad part is that she honestly thinks we don’t know she’s agreeing with herself! I’d blame her delusion on all that tryptophan in her Thankgiving Turkey, but they only give you about a 3oz serving at the homeless shelter dinner, so that can’t be it. Maybe she’s off her meds again. Prolly couldn’t afford ‘em…

Hey Guli - Yeah…I’m up late reading. I just wanted to catch up on the thread before I go to bed.
The troll situation here is annoying. Why? Cuz it’s one or two people who have no fcuking life and just want to sh#t on other people’s fun. I really don’t understand spending the entire day on a blog of two people you hate where the fans are rude and mean to you. What kind of sick fcuk thinks that’s a good time? They are either being paid to be here or the biggest damned idiots since Cro-magnon man!
Also -I wish people would post the link when they post articles here. That alleged Brad interview obviously came from a British site and the Brit press lies so damned much that I need a link so I can see it’s from a legit site before I believe anything anymore.
Okay…I’m headed to bed now. I’ll talk to youse tomorrow sometime!
For Film Companies, a State of Flux
When Brad Pitt dropped out of the political thriller “State of Play” at the 11th hour on Wednesday, he did more than throw a wrench into the works of one of the highest-profile movie productions under way in a Hollywood already overheated by strike-related contingency planning. He might have helped tip the balance of power between actors and studios, at least temporarily, in the employers’ favor.
For weeks, lawyers and agents say, employers have had to pay a premium of as much as 10 to 15 percent over actors’ normal salaries to book them into the dozens of movies that are filming between now and June, when the Screen Actors Guild’s contract expires. But with talks set to resume on Monday between striking writers and the movie and television companies, the chance of a quick settlement has added a gust of uncertainty, which producers say could work to the advantage of studios that are trying to lock in their last few deals with actors.
Mr. Pitt’s departure from “State of Play,” for example, prompted Universal Pictures to begin talks with the actor Russell Crowe, whose next assignment, after all, is Ridley Scott’s “Nottingham,” a reimagining of the Robin Hood story from the sheriff’s point of view, also for Universal.
But if Mr. Crowe balks at picking up Mr. Pitt’s leftovers, Universal at least has the comfort of knowing he is not the only A-list actor available. Tom Hanks is suddenly free, his “Da Vinci Code” sequel, “Angels & Demons,” having been postponed by Sony Pictures because Akiva Goldsman’s script was not quite where the studio wanted it to be when the writers walked. (The movie’s scheduled release was pushed back from December 2008 to May 2009.)
And Johnny Depp was to have gone into production in February on Mira Nair’s “Shantaram” for Warner Brothers, playing a heroin addict who flees prison, poses as a doctor in the slums of Mumbai and winds up battling Russian criminals in Afghanistan. But that film was delayed indefinitely, Warner Brothers said, as efforts to scale back the movie’s cost required Eric Roth to rework his adaptation more than he had managed to do before the writers strike began. And a delay would mean the production would get caught in the Indian monsoon season.
The crisis surrounding “State of Play,” meanwhile, seemed largely of Mr. Pitt’s making, to hear it from people connected to the production; his publicist could not be reached for comment on Friday. The movie, based on a hit six-hour BBC miniseries about a star politician and an ace reporter who are caught up in all sorts of intrigue, was adapted by Matthew Michael Carnahan (”The Kingdom,” “Lions for Lambs”) for Mr. Pitt to star in. To satisfy itself and then to try to allay Mr. Pitt’s concerns, Universal brought in a parade of A-list script doctors: Tony Gilroy of the “Bourne” series, Peter Morgan (”The Queen,” “The Last King of Scotland”) and, finally, Billy Ray (”Breach”).
Two people connected to the production, speaking on condition of anonymity so as not to pay a price for antagonizing one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, said that the producers asked Mr. Pitt for a speedy answer about its latest version of the screenplay several days before the writers’ strike, but that he registered his dissatisfaction with the script only several hours after the strike had begun - and just 10 days before filming was to have started with Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright Penn and Jason Bateman as Mr. Pitt’s co-stars. (This was not the first time Mr. Pitt bolted a production at the last minute; he did so on Darren Aronofsky’s film “The Fountain,” which was then reworked for Hugh Jackman to star in.) Another associate of Mr. Pitt, reached late on Friday, said that Mr. Pitt had rejected the last version of the script on Nov. 3, two days before the strike, and had tried to work out a compromise with the director, Kevin Macdonald, before pulling out.
The project was delayed while the studio tried to cajole Mr. Pitt into proceeding with some version of the script. Universal then released a statement saying, “We remain committed to this project and to the filmmakers, cast members, crew and others who are also involved in making the movie.” Now, with sets built and crews hired, the producers face a short window to replace Mr. Pitt or face other casting challenges: Ms. Mirren begins shooting “Love Ranch” in January, meaning that she will have to leave the cast of “State of Play” if it doesn’t start up by mid-December.
