Thandie Newton’s Weird Hat, If You Can Call It That

Mad Hatter Thandie Newton (in Chanel) gives a special touch of Christmas magic at the VIP opening of the Somerset House Ice Rink at London’s Somerset House on Tuesday evening.

The 35-year-old British actress kept it cute in a black trench, cute red shoes and a matching Chanel clutch.

But what is that thing on her head??

People are calling it a “feathered headpiece” but was it really necessary — YAY or NAY?

UPDATE: It’s a whimsical Philip Treacy hat.

Thandie is cute but I don’t like this oufit on her, the shoes are nice thought.
I don’t really know what is that thing on her head, but don’t forget she’s british, and british like to wear strange hats.

The Brits are famous for their eclectic hats. Have you ever seen pics of the Queens annual horse race; this hat is tame?. They are definitely not afraid to take it up a notch. She looks beautiful though.
