OlderJonathan Rhys Meyers @ Mother’s Funeral
Jonathan Rhys Meyers bid his mother, Geraldine O’Keeffe, a final farewell at her funeral on Friday at St. Joseph’s Church in Glanmire, County Cork, Ireland. Mrs. Meyers O’Keeffe passed away on Tuesday morning at Mercy University Hospital following a short illness.
The Tudors actor was accompanied to the funeral by his girlfriend Reena Hammer. Fellow Irish actor Colin Farrell was also in attendance, seen embracing Jonathan (pictured below). Irish actor Cillian Murphy was also reportedly there. His flowers and card can be seen below.
JRM’s father John O’Keeffe and his three brothers Alan, Jamie and Paul, heard Priest Noel O’Sullivan describe Mrs. Meyers O’Keeffe as a “loving, caring mother, who would go out of her way to help people.”
Our deepest condolences go out to Jonathan and his friends and family.

There’s just no call for this - yes, he’s an actor, but right now he’s a lad who’s just lost his mam. He’s grieving, and he doesn’t need his very private life - and this is private - splashed over the papers. Pictures of him out on the street were one thing, but this is sick.
Good to hear he had friends around him there, but that’s not our business to see it.

I agree with those who said this is disgusting. Losing a parent is one of the worst things a person goes through in life. Even celebrities deserve privacy at times like this! These photos should have never been posted anywhere. Jared, first it was the rape story about Zahara, now this, I realize you are a celebrity blogger, but damn, these two ‘insensitive’ and distasteful posts in one week?? I’m quickly losing interest in visiting your site.
I didn’t want to even give the story a ‘hit’, I just read the headline and felt I had to post my opinion. I didn’t even look at the pics. Regardless of my contribution, I’m quickly losing my ‘celebrity lust’ in this age of the unbridled paparazzi. They are everywhere and it’s getting, well not getting, it IS way out of control. Something needs to be done. Some things should just be off limits. LIKE FUNERALS!!!!
Man, these pictures are so sad. I don’t think they should of posted these. He just looks like he is just in a days like he really isn’t there. Poor thing. I am feel bad for him and his family to lose to someone so special. I have him and his family in my prayers and thoughts.

pretty low taking photographs of someone at a funeral..possibly one of the hardest times in his life..and he has a lens starring at him.
Why would the paps be at the funeral? it just seems WRONG that they are snapping these photos… a funeral is a personal thing.
Anyways, my thoughts are with the family and I hope he mother may rest in peace. God bless.
